This story is from Kevins rescuer, the police officer. We got a call about a puppy being tied on a vacant properties porch and possibly someone trespassing on the property. Once I arrived on the property, no one could be located, but the puppy was tied to a porch railing and left with no food or water. I contacted John with Baker Bridge Rescue who agreed to help me, of which I was very grateful. I then secured the pup shortly after. A couple folks floating on the river were very relieved to see the dog being taken care of!. Since getting Kevin home with us, he has gained weight and found that people can be good. He is learning potty training and playing with the other dogs. He loves playing with toys. This guy has had a tough row to hoe but he is simply just a LOVER BOY. People have let him down but a lovely rescuer reached out and got him and now he is READY! Six months ago, someone posted him on FB saying he showed up at their apartment in a small town and they could not keep him. About a week later he mysteriously shows up about 20 miles away and another house. We firmly believe that the first people drove him out to the country and dumped him. The second home reached out to Tails of the South Rescue, and they jumped right in. He has been neutered, brought up to date on all his shots and treated for heartworm. He is now a healthy dog and ready to come to his new family. Foster says he is a PERFECT boy! She has had him about 5 months, and he's lived inside with ALL the dogs and cats. He loves to play and snuggle, put his head on your chest and give kisses. He runs the farm and doesn't bother anything! He has never been around toddlers but adores kids 6 and up. ❤️🐾🐾❤️ He is in Tennessee right now but will be transported to you using the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Stripes is a 1 y/o (dob 8/20/22) neutered male dog. He is medium in size weighing around 35-40#. Stripes brindle color and body shape lead is to believe he is a Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix. He is up to date on vaccines, neutered, chipped, heartworm negative, and on prevention. Stripes has been around a 3 y/o child and did well but was a bit skittish of kid activity. Therefore, we believe Stripes would be more comfortable with older kids. He loves other dogs and plays well with others. Stripes knows to do his business outside and keeps the house and his kennel clean. He can be shy at first but warms up quickly. He does well with other dogs and they help him build his confidence. Stripes loves his human and likes to be close to them when he isn’t playing with other dogs. He does put himself in his kennel while his foster mom gets her work done. Stripes may take a while to warm up but once he's comfortable he's very loving. He is very loyal to his main human. He feels comfort in his crate and enjoys furry toys. Stripes is a laid back guy who loves nothing more than a cozy bed, belly rubs and human snuggles. Stripes loves car rides and does well just in the car and not in a crate. This sweet boy is looking for a caring home that will help him continue to build his confidence.
