Story
ACD Mix - Research The Breed Before Applying Paco is a 6 month old puppy who needs a forever home to be his whole world. He's unsure when first meeting people and who can blame him?! This boy was born and raised on an amish farm without any kind human contact. He was kept caged till he was sold to the first unsuspecting buyer. They didn't understand why he would bark at people coming into the home, and instead of working with him, they turned him over to the shelter. We decided to take a chance on him and brought him into the rescue and let me tell you, he's worth it! Once you're his person, he will lay under your feet and flip on his back for belly rubs. He will gallop around you and pounce in front of you to get you to play. He needs a patient and dedicated home who will work with him on making him feel safe and loved. It is unfair to have a puppy live fearful of the "unknown", He should be out and about loving on everyone he meets and getting spoiled by the masses. He just completed a month long board and train program and is ready to find his forever home with a family who will continue to let him grow into the best boy! We do not recommend Paco for families with small children unless the home is experienced with cattle dogs. Apply here: https://tinyurl.com/TLCdogapp We do not promote any of our dogs as house trained or allergy friendly. Story
Hi, I’m Snowball! I know what you’re thinking — I’m freaking stunning, right? I’m an almost 2 year old Aussie mix with a big smile, a fluffy coat, and enough energy to keep up with all of life’s adventures. I’m curious about everything and love soaking up new experiences. People? Love them. Dogs? Love them even more! I’d really like a dog sibling to romp around with. Crates aren’t really my thing. But don’t worry, I’m respectful in the home and have pretty great manners. I’m too playful for cats! But if you’re in the market for a walking, hiking, zoomies-in-the-yard buddy, I’m your guy. Oh and in case you missed my color, I am a double Merle so while my vision is great, my hearing? Not so much, but seriously I will amaze you with how well I read cues. So what do you say we make this official? Just go to the link below. Have your people talk to my people and the rest will be history! Apply here: https://tinyurl.com/TLCdogapp Adoption radius: 60 miles from Silver Spring, MD For other pictures and video of me go to this link: https://www.petfinder.com/dog/snowball-fe37fb65-2ea1-4573-8a0f-06da34856f58/md/silver-spring/tascas-love-cooperative-inc-md511/details/ Please note: we do not promote any of our dogs as house trained or allergy friendly.

Story
Seeking to rehome my 4 year old mini Australian shepherd. He is tri colored, full blooded, non neutered. He needs some retraining for his anxiety based behaviors and is not good with small children which I have in the home. He’s fine with older kids and adults. He would benefit from a smaller less chaotic household with a yard.

loving Lucy Lu, this super smart super loyal girl is looking for her forever home. She loves to go on walks, hikes, trips to the lake and the mountains make her a very happy girl. She is extremely well on a leash as well as car rides. She would love to just be an only dog as sometimes she can be dog selective. She is the kindest little lady with the biggest heart. Thankfully, K-9 Lifesavers brought them to safety, and now Kohana is ready to bloom in his forever home. His mom is a beautiful 2-year-old Aussie mix weighing just 25 pounds named Junebug, and Kohana has inherited her gentle spirit and gorgeous looks. Kohana loves playtime, snuggles, and making new friends — especially with other dogs. He’s at the perfect age to begin training and will blossom into a wonderful companion with the right family. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at  foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me!    Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/. He found himself in an overcrowded Alabama shelter after being surrendered by a breeder who could not sell him — but his luck changed when rescuers stepped in to give him the chance he deserves. This beautiful boy is a bit on the shy side at first, but he absolutely shines around other dogs. True to his Aussie nature, Lonnie is smart, energetic, and has that classic herding instinct — which means he may try to herd and nip at heels during play or running. Because of this, he would do best in a home with older children who understand herding-breed behaviors. Lonnie is at the perfect age for training and socialization, and with a patient adopter, he’ll blossom into the amazing companion he’s meant to be. Apply today and become the forever home this beautiful boy has been waiting for! This sweet little lady, along with her siblings Watson and Thelma, was rescued from a crowded shelter in Alabama—a scary spot for a young pup. Thankfully, K-9 Lifesavers came to the rescue for this trio. Louise is now safe, sound, and ready for her next big adventure: finding her forever family! About Louise:  Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs.
