Nana has been in foster care with a MARS staff member since Aug 2021. During this time Nana has been working on all her life skills, with the help of our trainer.  At her annual exam on 6/7/22 she tested positive for heartworm. She went through heartworm treatment with flying colors. She has been retested for heartworm and is now negative. She needs to remain on monthly heartworm prevention, year round, for the rest of her life. Nana came to MARS with some significant fear based reactivity, stranger danger and trust issues. With the dedication of her foster and trainer she has improved dramatically and is ready to find her FOREVER home.  Nana will need to continue using these newly mastered life skills in her new home with a calm and confident human leader. MARS will provide training with her adopter during the transition.  While Nana is able to live in a townhome she would do best without shared walls as she does get vocal when she hears the door bell, loud noises, sees dogs or sees/hears people outside. Nana would LOVE a home with a big fenced yard that she can safely run around and have the zoomies. She loves to chill outside during the warm months! Once you are one of her trusted people she is sweet and cuddly and just wants to be with you. She would prefer to be the only pet in her new home.   If you are interested in learning more about Nana please complete an application!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Story
Hi, my name is Rosieta but Sieta for short! I’m such a love bug. I was born approximately 12/6/23 and came to NDLB with my eight brothers in February. I am a typical puppy that sleeps a lot but I play hard too. I love to play fetch and most of the time I bring the toy back…I love treats so mom says I will be easy to train. I figured out when I go into my kennel, I get a treat. We have been working on “off” when I jump up and “sit” when I get a treat. I am also learning to come when called. Potty training is a work in progress. I will usually potty outside if you take me out regularly but I still have accidents inside too. I love to snuggle my people and my four legged foster sisters. My sisters are big dogs and are very patient with me. If I get too crazy, they let me know and I respect their corrections. When they are feeling playful, I love playing tug with them! Four little people have visited and boy, do they wear me out! They carry me around and I give them lots of kisses. Everyone says I have the cutest markings on my face. My lower lip looks like I have black lipstick on and my nose looks like I have a paw print printed on it. Speaking of my nose, I use it a lot! You know the best place to use your nose? Outside! Yep, I love being outside, running, soaking up the sun and smelling all the good things out there. I may not be a pedigree but mom says I am the best breed, a rescue. Of course mom and dad would love to keep me and teach me all sorts of things but they know there are more pups that need them. They will find me the perfect furever home to do his and love me! Is that you?    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $450 plus taxDarby is like a happy, funny toddler. He's snuggly and playful. He just walks in and makes himself at home. He would do well with a family, couple or a single person. He'll need to burn some energy each day but is otherwise a pretty chill and cuddly dude.  Darby loves, loves, loves to play with the resident dog. He would love to have another dog in the house, and a yard, if possible. Darby and the resident cat are ok together, not great. He's more interested in her. He cannot help but chase her. So a dog savvy cat could be ok.  He's a momma's boy, loves to snuggle with his foster mom and he will check to see where I am. He's so excited, though, when my 16-year-old son plays with him. I think he'd do well with kids, just not little kids. He's not real body aware so He's kind of a little toddler tank and he nips/mouths/herds (never hurts) people when he's excited. He loves the snow. It's super cute. He stands with his mouth open for snowflakes and he shovels the snow with his nose. Auto Show Alert: I was selected to attend the Auto Show to say hi and share a smile! I will be there on 3/30 from 4pm to 8pm and 4/4 4PM-8PM. See you there!? Marshall is a 2 year old Australian Cattle dog mix. My work situation changed soon after I got him. He’s an active and sociable dog, and I can’t give him as much time and training as he deserves. He likes to cuddle and be close by, and would do best in a house with another dog. He is currently kept in a kennel when left alone at home. Besides that, he’s well behaved in the house.

Name: Palmer Breeds: Cattle Dog Mix Age: Puppy Sex: Male Size: Medium Palmer is a cute medium sized pooch, about 7-9 months old. He was found in a park and thought playing with the kids and teens there was great. Despite them looking for his people no one claimed him or knew him. Palmer is a fun, happy-go-lucky, thrilled to be a part of things pup. He is a toy fanatic and loves to carry his toys and toss them around for himself; he loves even more when people join in the game with him. He is very dog friendly and wants to play. He was interested in the cats but not aggressive. We suspect he might give chase out of play but when the cat he met swatted him he backed right off. He is housetrained and crates quietly. He's a smarty pants and loves to engage with his people making training a breeze! Requirements: Training sign up required Adoption Fee: $500 + tax. Hi I’m Rosalee, I am 6 years old and came from a rough situation. I’m still learning how to be a dog and things are really scary but I’m doing my best. I am food/treat motivated. I am also extremely smart being a mini aussie. I definitely need another dog in the home to help me learn how to be a dog. I am doing well potty training and will go outside but am super scared being on a leash and will need time to learn the leash thing. A fenced in yard for me would be best. I like to get zoomies and play but only if you aren’t watching me. I sleep through the night in my kennel or puppy pen and so just fine. I graze on my food throughout the day. I am still very scared of people but my foster mom is teaching me everyday that people are okay.   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Hi, I’m Riata! I’m a 6 year old mini Aussie breeder release. I currently weight about 21 lbs, but should be closer to 18. Because I’m a breeder release, I am very nervous around new people & places. Right now I mostly ignore other dogs, and am still learning about cats. I stay quietly in my crate when my people aren’t home. In fact, I stay quiet almost all of the time! I am working on going potty outdoors, and will need patience from my new family. I like my privacy when I’m going to the bathroom, so a fenced yard or tie out would make that easier for me. Kids are very loud and I’m not sure I enjoy their company quite yet. If you think you have a safe, quiet home that I could learn to be comfortable in- I’d like to meet you!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:  $450.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 26, 2024, 1:01 pm
