Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxBananarama, aka Nanner or NaNa, is a very special girl around here. Nana has been in foster care with a MARS staff member since Aug 2021. During this time Nana has been working on all her life skills, with the help of our trainer.  At her annual exam on 6/7/22 she tested positive for heartworm. She went through heartworm treatment with flying colors. She has been retested for heartworm and is now negative. She needs to remain on monthly heartworm prevention, year round, for the rest of her life. Nana came to MARS with some significant fear based reactivity, stranger danger and trust issues. With the dedication of her foster and trainer she has improved dramatically and is ready to find her FOREVER home.  Nana will need to continue using these newly mastered life skills in her new home with a calm and confident human leader. MARS will provide training with her adopter during the transition.  While Nana is able to live in a townhome she would do best without shared walls as she does get vocal when she hears the door bell, loud noises, sees dogs or sees/hears people outside. Nana would LOVE a home with a big fenced yard that she can safely run around and have the zoomies. She loves to chill outside during the warm months! Once you are one of her trusted people she is sweet and cuddly and just wants to be with you. She would prefer to be the only pet in her new home.   If you are interested in learning more about Nana please complete an application!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $550 plus taxOrgana is a very sweet and loving puppy.  She LOVES to snuggle every chance she can get. Gets along well with our older dogs and is learning her boundaries.  She is easily corrected, treat motivated and a people pleaser which makes training much easier.  She loved to play fetch and her wiggle but is the cutest thing ever when she gets excited. She is working on potty training which takes a bit of time and getting the hang of it.  Does use potty pads inside by the door. Although, I am sure she would love to snuggle with you all night, she sleeps well in her kennel for 8 hours at a time. She is also kennel trained when we leave for short periods.  She is not used to being left alone more than a few hours. If you do work outside of the home, you should be prepared to give her plenty of exercise and attention when you get home until bedtime. Organa has been around kids and a little shy at first but real sweet and gentle with them.  She would be a great addition to any family.  Good with kids, dogs and cats   * Puppies under 5 months should not be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time to help them with potty training and socialization.   If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxDarby is like a happy, funny toddler. He's snuggly and playful. He just walks in and makes himself at home. He would do well with a family, couple or a single person. He'll need to burn some energy each day but is otherwise a pretty chill and cuddly dude.  Darby loves, loves, loves to play with the resident dog. He would love to have another dog in the house, and a yard, if possible. Darby and the resident cat are ok together, not great. He's more interested in her. He cannot help but chase her. So a dog savvy cat could be ok.  He's a momma's boy, loves to snuggle with his foster mom and he will check to see where I am. He's so excited, though, when my 16-year-old son plays with him. I think he'd do well with kids, just not little kids. He's not real body aware so He's kind of a little toddler tank and he nips/mouths/herds (never hurts) people when he's excited. He loves the snow. It's super cute. He stands with his mouth open for snowflakes and he shovels the snow with his nose. Story
Elle is a 7 year old mix weighing 40 lbs. She's an energetic girl who loves a walk, hike, or ride in the car. She's not always everyone's best friend right away, but she gets there. Elle has a strong prey drive that sees her at odds with squirrels on a regular basis. If Elle could climb trees to chase them, she would. Elle doesn't always have the best reactions to other dogs. It's entirely hit or miss between barking at, ignoring, or playing with other pups. Usually as she gets more time with them, she gets more relaxed and friendly. She loves to hunt for treats, play tug of war, and hide and seek. Lounging on a couch or comfy chair is also high on her list. Unfortunately that energy isn't always in check and with a new born in our house, we're worried that an accident is unavoidable.

Story
Name: Palmer Breeds: Cattle Dog/Terrier Mix Age: Young Adult Sex: Male Size: Medium Palmer is a cute medium sized pooch, about a year old. He was found in a park and thought playing with the kids and teens there was great. Despite them looking for his people no one claimed him or knew him. Palmer is a fun, happy-go-lucky, thrilled to be a part of things pup. He is a toy fanatic and loves to carry his toys and toss them around for himself; he loves even more when people join in the game with him. He is very dog friendly and wants to play. He was interested in the cats but not aggressive. We suspect he might give chase out of play but when the cat he met swatted him he backed right off. He is housetrained and crates quietly. He's a smarty pants and loves to engage with his people making training a breeze! He is the ideal dog for a home who wants a dog to train, maybe take on hikes, and do something with. He is up for anything! Requirements: Training sign up required Adoption Fee: $500 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives. Hi, I’m Alaska! I was surrendered because the older dog in the home didn’t like me. I don’t know why though cause I have lots of friends at the rescue already! I’m house trained, crate trained, walk great on a leash and I know sit, lay down and shake! I’m a smart and sweet, soft and fluffy little gal with so much love to give.I’m 5 months old and weigh 30 pounds, and I’m like a heeler mixed with a little shepherd or something. I’m not sure, but I do know I have the best puppy dog eyes and I’m not afraid to use them! I absolutely love people, and stick right with you. I’m good with other dogs, and I’m all around a good girl.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. Story
Meet Riata, a sweet and snuggly 6-year-old breeder release dog who is ready to find her forever home! Riata has an incredibly soft coat that's a joy to pet, and with a sweet habit of gently kissing your hand to show her affection, she’s sure to melt your heart. This gentle soul is still learning to trust people and can be timid around loud noises, but with patience and love, she’s sure to blossom.   Riata adores the outdoors and is gradually getting used to walking on a leash. She’s also working on becoming more comfortable with pottying in front of people, so a home with a fenced backyard and a tie-out would be ideal for her while she gets used to her surroundings.   Despite her shy nature, Riata finds comfort in her kennel and loves to snuggle up all day. She also finds comfort in other dogs, especially ones that are a little more outgoing and can show her what being a dog is all about! She’s a loyal companion who just needs a little time and encouragement to show her true, loving personality. If you have a quiet home and the patience to help Riata continue her journey, she will reward you with unconditional love and affection. Adopt Riata and give her the chance she finally deserves to feel safe and cherished!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $350 plus taxMeet Lulu, her curious nature keeps her exploring, sniffing out new adventures in every corner. Lulu's intelligence is evident in her quick learning of commands and tricks, while her loyalty is unquestionable, always returning to your side. She's full of energy, making her the perfect companion for active individuals or couples. Lulu does need slower intros with other dogs. Please note, Lulu would do best in a home without children. Adopting Lulu means gaining a loving, loyal friend who will fill your days with joy and activity.    Lulu would do just fine by herself. She would also be great with a fenced area. People coming in and out would take a little while for her to get used to them, but with loving family and affection it'll work. She is very quiet when there's no excitement happening. Lulu loves walking alongside or near you.Lulu has never been around cats so we are unsure of how she would be with them- she does like to chase bunnies and squirrels in the yard. If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com  to reactivate your application with new interest.       Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. //

Story
Hi everyone! My name is Alexis but my foster family calls me Lexi. I’m about a 5 1/2 year old mini Aussie with a heart of gold. I can be very shy when I first meet you but will warm up quickly. I'm unsure of my foster dogs and ignores the cats completely. I am potty trained and will go to the door or pace when i need to go out. I only had one accident but my foster mom thinks it’s because I was so scared. I love being outside. I have a fenced in yard so haven’t had much experience on a leash yet. I greet people when they come to visit and love the compliments and pets i get. Unsure of how she’d handle children. I haven’t been around little kids but I don’t like loud noises so I don’t think I’d do very good. I’m a snuggle bug and will give kisses, if you ask. I will go into my kennel but I prefer to be where my people are. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, dental, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:  #525.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 20, 2024, 5:39 pm
