This pretty pup is Lila! We call her Lila Bee and she is the sweetest! Lila is an Australian Kelpie and loves to run. She really just wants to be a lap/sofa pup and because of her temperment and that she is quiet, we think she would also be a candidate for apartment living as well, AND WE NEVER SAY THAT. Lila is apprx 35 lbs., apprx 3 years old, fully vetted, and heartworm negative. She is leash trained and knows basic obedience commands. Lila also loves to ride in the car, so she would be a great companion for people that drive a lot. If you would like more information on Lila please send us an email or message. She will make someone or family a great little buddy!!

Let me introduce you to Dakota, one of our newer residents at the Mesquite Animal Shelter picked up by one of our officers on 6/3. He weighs 60 pounds, is about 3 years old and is neutered. He is an Australian Kelpie mix. He is a stunningly attractive fellow with standup ears, a beautiful coat, and clear blue eyes. He knows the sit and paw commands. He will sit for treats and takes them politely. He showed off his athleticism by nimbly climbing up on our play equipment. He spent some time with his nose to the ground, checking out all the fascinating smells in the yard. He chased but did not return the tennis balls I threw. He is lively, spunky, and a happy-go-lucky boy. He has an outgoing and confident personality. Being a herding breed, he tries to herd the person who is walking him. This could be an issue if adopted into a family with very small children. He is a very likable boy and highly adoptable. Dakota is friendly and was happy for me to pet his soft, silky fur that has a sheen to it! Will you consider helping him out of the shelter?

RESCUE ONLYAddie really tugged at my heart and I hope she does yours. She is so deserving of a better life than she's obviously had for the last few years, at least. Addie is at least an eight year old Australian Kelpie/Shepherd mix that weighs 50 pounds. She was brought to the Mesquite Animal Shelter by one of our officers on 8/28. She was cautiously friendly, but with time I won her over. I suspect she has not had the love and pampering she deserves. She has relatively large mammary tumors and lipomas (see last photo)...age related! Her eyes are also matted and she has some minor hair loss down her back. She has been given Nexgard. In spite of that she has forgiven her previous adopters and is wanting to go into a quiet, laid-back, loving home environment where she can live out the rest of her life! She was in seventh heaven when given a soft blanket! She loves treats and takes them gently. She apparently does not know the sit command but does like treats. She does want to please. She wasn't interested in meeting other dogs. She walks well on a leash.. She meandered slowly around the yard. She is sweet, calm, and with trust very loving! What a charming girl Luna Paisley is! This medium-sized, high-energy girl exudes love. She's exceptionally friendly with all the people and pups she meets, including youngsters. She's easy to love in return, and her amazingly soft fur makes people want to pet her. Hiking and running are two of Luna's favorite activities, so grab her leash and let's go. Not surprising for this 18-month-old lady. She's food motivated and smart, so snag the treats and help her increase her skills. She enjoys food puzzles, so she'll want to keep her brain as active as her body. She'll even play games with the most serious of hounds. Getting her into a busy family routine will be easy, since she adapts to the routine of the people around her. She would be a fabulous addition to any home and loves the company of other pets while also being potty trained & crate trained. All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise.
