This handsome boy is Reno, an Australian Kelpie mix that was brought in as a stray to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 1/12. He weighs 36 pounds and is about 2 years old. Reno appears to have been nicely cared for. He knows the sit and paw commands (in fact he will give you both left and right paws). He is very sociable, friendly, affectionate, wants to climb into your lap and will give kisses. He is a charming, gentle, sweet, well-behaved boy who would doubtless make someone a wonderful companion. He does walk well on a leash. He played with several toys and balls in our meet and greet room. Reno is also quite the curious boy. In the yard, he had his nose to the ground and covered pretty much the entire area. He loves treats and takes them quite politely. He sincerely hopes that his stay at the shelter will be a short one and that a new person or family with step forward and adopt or foster and stay committed to him. Reno is a delightfully sweet, loveable and charming boy. He deserves to live as an inside dog spending time with his loving family.

Riley is eight months old and 25 pounds. She is exceptionally playful and enjoys the company of children. She has a fondness for walks, frozen carrots, chasing bubbles, and swimming. While she loves playing in water, she is not particularly fond of baths which is hilarious. Riley is also affectionate and loves to cuddle. She will happily accompany you to every room! Furthermore, she will sit beside you while you are doing homework or even watch television with you. Meet Lacy! She’s a two year old Aussie mix who is a small girl at just 25-ish pounds. Shes great with other dogs and children. She hasn’t met a cat yet, but we think she would be just fine given her calm nature. Lacy is heartworm positive but her treatment is included as part of her adoption fee. This cutesy girl is CeCe, an American Blue Heeler mix brought as a stray to the Mesquite shelter 2/19. She weighs 40 pounds and is about 2 years old. There is so much to like about this girl, so where to begin? She is very alert! Outside, she enjoyed exploring the yard and seeing and smelling everything. She relishes lying on a soft, comfortable blanket, in a quiet environment. She is sweet, friendly, sociable, and has the most adorable smile! She let me pet her without any problem at all! I will say that she is a bit timid and nervous. She walks on a leash but hesitantly, possibly hasn`t had much training. She does not jump on you. She is calm and gentle and has a mellow personality. She hopes to find her final loving family where she lives indoors and being close to her human companions.

He was found by a coworker and has been fostered by me. He is high energy, friendly, seems to have previous training (potty trained, sits and stays, gentle treat taking), and is an overall great dog. He is suspicious of children, seems interested in cats but not as prey, and gets along with my other dog. We don't have the space to keep him for very long- he currently stays in the bathroom unless the cats are separated safely- he's never tried to chase them, but I haven't given him the chance. He is familiar with a leash and is incredible in the car! We have tried to find his previous owner diligently with no success. Please give this sweet boy a chance! He deserves a soulmate!
