Story

Henry is a good dog. He is 10 years old. He does have some arthritis but otherwise healthy. He gets groomed once a month and he is up to date on his shots. He is potty trained. He walks good with a leash and loves to go on walks. The only problem we have with him is some aggression with kids. I have 2 grandchildren, age 1 and 2 and when they started walking that’s when he started growling and showing his teeth. He has never bit them but i dont want to take anymore chances. Currently we cannot let him around the kids so he has to stay in the basement when the kids are up and about. We have been doing this for 2 years now and it is very nerve wracking. It’s not a good life for Henry either. We just want him to go to a good home.

We got him from an old farmer when he was about a month old. He is a very fun, playful, and cuddle dog. He needs plenty of yard to run around and get his energy out. We’re not sure about Veronica’s backstory, but we know that she’s likely been through a lot. It seems as if someone wasn’t always very nice to her because she shuts down in some situations. But she does want to be right with her person, following closely on their heels. We think Veronica is about 6 years old. She is a gorgeous Australian shepherd with a gentle personality. While she is recovering from heartworm treatment, she still has energy and wants to play. Veronica is deaf and has limited vision. She’s very smart and has learned several touch commands including “good girl” and “come.” She is learning to walk nicely on a leash and is housebroken. She sleeps nicely in her pen overnight. Veronica would do best in a home with a friendly dog to help give her confidence. She does not like being left alone for very long, so she’d love someone who is home most of the day. She’d love an active person because she loves to explore and go on adventures. She’d prefer a physical, fenced yard to keep her safe. Kane and Audrey were part of a litter of seven 6-week old puppies brought into an overburdened rural shelter. Their mother had been found nearby, struck by a car — leaving her babies orphaned, emaciated, and so cold they were barely hanging on. Despite the shelter’s best efforts, all the puppies except Kane and Audrey passed away. These puppies are fighters. They’ve bounced back from fleas and worms of all kinds, as well as sarcoptic mange, and are ready to start their new lives. A DNA test found that Kane and Adurey are mostly Australian shepherd and husky mixes. They are both very sweet and smart and love playing, running, and having fun with toys. Kane is a little more timid than his sister. He’s snuggly and just wants to crawl up inside you because the world is a little frightening. Audrey is braver and more outgoing. She crushes on every boy dog she meets and just wants to be close to them. The pups are each looking for a new home. (They will not be adopted together.) Caterpillar’s blue eyes will get you. This handsome Australian shepherd mix puppy has the most captivating eyes that are a perfect match for his fun and loving personality. Caterpillar loves to play tug and wrestle with his siblings. He has silly puppy energy spurts, but mostly he's a chill and relaxed little guy that loves to snuggle. While he’s independent and curious, he also always likes to have his person in his sight line for attention and direction. Caterpillar is deaf and is learning hand signals. Blossom’s story is a sad one, but we are working on a happy ending. She was adopted six years ago into a wonderful home where she was deeply loved by her mom. Sadly, her mother developed dementia and had to move into a care facility. Blossom is trying to figure out what’s next for her. Blossom is an Aussie mix who is sweet and has amazing manners. She’s fairly low energy, but loves going on walks, playing fetch, and cuddling on the couch. She adores squeaky toys and has a favorite tennis ball. Blossom is completely potty trained and is incredibly trustworthy in the house. She has a crate for napping, but she doesn’t need it. She’lll be perfectly content until you come home. She knows so many commands including sit, wait, down, come, paw, bed and crate. She has mild vision loss in one eye, but it doesn’t stop her from anything. Aside from the occasional outing, Blossom really would love to be a homebody. She doesn’t need to have a full social calendar and just isn’t your coffee shop, dog park-kinda girl. She’s happy with you and the couch and loads of snuggles. She is such a happy, sweet girl and so well-behaved. Blossom just loves being loved and giving love.
