Let me introduce myself, I'm Dakota. I am just the cutest lil girl and I'm here looking for a family, a home...one that I can say will be ALL mine! I'm just a lil munchkin (for now) at almost 3 months and should be a nice medium size of around 35-40lbs when I get myself all the way growed up. I'm sweet, active, playful and just ready to explore...everywhere. I'm at that spongey stage in life where I'm soaking up everything! I'm a very social girl that loves people both tall and small but I do have those sharp lil nails and teeth yet. I love playing with my siblings and the other resident pups here at my foster home. I haven't had a chance yet to meet any of those creatures y'all call a cat but at my tender age, I'm sure I'd be just fine with them too. I've got a super sweet nature that is loving, playful and snuggly (if you can get me to hold still) that would love to be your lil blob of clay to be molded into the bestest family addition...could it possibly be with YOUR family?!! Lily Jo is currently enrolled in the 12 week Puppies 4 Parole program through the Mo Department of Corrections. She will graduate around November 22 and will be available for adoption at that time. If you are interested in adopting Lily Jo, please complete an application and the foster parent will contact you. Meet Lily a 40 pound Husky mix. Lily is a sweet girl but can be a little shy but warms up quickly. She loves everyone once she gets to know them. Lily is your typical Husky and like to talk to you. Lily also loves her toys. Lily grew up living outside so she is learning her house manners and is very happy to be living life as an inside dog. Lily is NOT good with cats so she would need a home without cats. She can be a little too interested in cats, but has not acted out towards them. So she would need to be slowly introduced to them. Lexus has spent most of her life living outside, so she is adjusting to home life and learning how amazing inside can be. She is also learning her house manners, such as items on the counter belong to the humans and not her. With a little training Lexus will be a great companion. Sophie is a sweet girl looking for a new forever home. She is a little shy at first but has tons of energy and needs someone that can give her lots of walks and play time enless games of fetch. She is good with kids and other dogs but does seem to shy away when around other dogs and we are unsure how she would be with cats. She does not seem to enjoy car rides. She is crate trained and knows a few basic commands but not many. She is a smart girl and I'm sure she could know more with some patience and training.

Hi, I'm Bruno. I'm a 2 year old Australian Shepherd mix. I seem to do good with other dogs and I do good in my kennel overnight so potty-training should be easy! I'm a little shy of new people but warm up with treats as I am highly food motivated. I'm pretty scared of a leash but the shelter staff is working to getting me more used to it. Can you be my second chance? Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2177036##
