Oliver is an 11-year-old Australian Shepherd who I got while I was in college. He became my companion while my boyfriend (now husband) was away at school and has been by my side through college, marriage, our first home, and having children. He is loyal, loving, playful, and very affectionate. Oliver loves playing frisbee in the yard, playing with his toys, and taking long naps. He is house and kennel trained and is up to date on his vaccines and preventatives. As Oliver has gotten older, he has become more anxious around young children, so I am looking for a loving, calm home without children where he can relax and enjoy his life. I believe he will thrive in the right environment with someone who can give him the attention, patience, and love he deserves.

She would do very well in a no kid household. She could also do well in a household with another dog, but doesn’t know sharing is caring so she just needs to learn how to share her toys. She is kennel trained (prefers to sleep in her kennel at night), housebroken, knows to sit, lay, paw/shake, leave it, and has been working on release. She does well going out into public settings and LOVES going to Home Depot. She's a plant girl. She loves swimming and playing in the water. She is high energy and needs a fenced in yard that she can run in. Monty is a great name for a great dog like me ;) I have the Monty Python kind of humor... goofy and sweet! But, don't mess with my crate! That really is my only "pet: peeve!! I was found on the streets 2 years ago and was adopted as a pup... however, I became the boss in the house and didn't like anyone entering the house that I didn't know :( SO..... Back to the rescue, because they won't give up on me!! So here I am and I have really adjusted to the environment and new people meeting me and treats and lots of love. AND the crew here basically has determined that I need a family/adopters that will be in charge of the house. Someone I can trust to protect me so I don't have to!! I am vocal in my crate, so my crate needs to be away from the common areas so I can relax and not meet everyone that stops by. Once I settle into my new home I will follow your lead! I am a gorgeous boy, with caramel and milk chocolate highlights in my soft fur. I want to please my family and go on all kinds of adventures! I am awesome out and about, meeting new people and new friends :D I hope you will look into my eyes, the windows to my soul, and see the HOPE I have to find my own home again! The rescue is great because I got a second chance, but I REALLY want a home!! Local adoption only $300 (in TX)
