Story
Meet Bear, a charming mini Australian Shepherd mixed with an Ori-Pei, which is a blend of Shar Pei and Pug. Bear is incredibly intelligent and thrives on affection; he truly loves being loved. If you're searching for a loyal companion to keep you company, Bear is the perfect pup for you. We’re not in a hurry to rehome him; we genuinely want to find the right fit. We adore Bear and know he deserves more than we can currently provide. He longs to be the baby of the household, but with a three-year-old in the mix, we’ve noticed some jealousy on his part. Bear would thrive in a family without young children, though teenagers would be just fine. He’s full of energy and loves to run and play. After attending dog school for four months, he mastered his commands and made plenty of canine friends. He also gets along wonderfully with our cat. If you're ready to welcome a loving and spirited companion into your home, Bear could be the one for you!

Story
Zelda is a "thinker." She likes to take a moment to survey her surroundings before she jumps into the fun. She can be a bit timid in new environments, but watching her "brave switch" flip is the most rewarding experience! Once she feels safe, you’ll see her true colors: a playful, affectionate, and incredibly sweet puppy. Kid-Approved: She has a gentle soul and is wonderful with children. Dog-Friendly: She thrives around other pups! A confident dog sibling might be just what she needs to help her find her courage. Blank Slate: At just 13 weeks old, she’s at the perfect age for training. While she hasn't met cats yet, her soft personality suggests she’d do well with a slow introduction. Zelda is looking for a family that understands that "good things take time." If you have a patient heart and a love for the Aussie breed, Zelda will repay you with a lifetime of loyalty and tail wags. Link to adopt: https://www.kcpetrescue.org/adoption-services.html

Story
To adopt please fill out an adoption application. Be sure to watch his video!  Hey Dude!   Dude is a 1 year old male Australian shepherd mix who was rescued as a stray in rural MS. Friendly, happy, well-socialized young dog!   Good with other dogs and living comfortably with 2 other dogs in his foster home.  Fine with cats.  Great with kids and very gentle with foster mom’s young grandchildren. Medium-high energy level outside, quiet and well-mannered in the house. Housebroken but never crated because he doesn’t need to be. Obeys basic commands.  Loves to be with his people.  Good on a leash, rides great in the car.  Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, neutered, weighs about 70 pounds.  AWESOME young dog will make a wonderful companion (and jogging partner!)  for an active family.  Here’s a note from his foster mom:  Dude brings the fun. He has that classic puppy energy, loves playtime, and thrives with dogs his size. He’s not interested in being the alpha; he prefers to go with the flow and make everyone feel welcome. Even without much early stability, he’s showing real promise as he settles into routine, structure, and affection.  Dude is a loving, people-focused, high-energy dog who brings joy and enthusiasm to every day.  We adore that Dude makes belonging look easy, and we’re excited to help him write his next chapter — one where his potential meets opportunity. Story
**Meet Dean — a Gentle, Shy Soul Looking for His Perfect Home (with Jackie!)** Dean is a very shy but incredibly sweet boy who just needs a little time and patience to show you his true heart. Once he bonds with you, he becomes your devoted shadow—quietly loyal, deeply affectionate, and happiest right by your side. Dean shares a special, unbreakable bond with his best friend Jackie, and the two of them must be adopted together. Their connection gives Dean confidence, comfort, and joy, and they truly thrive as a pair. Leash walks are one of Dean’s favorite things—he’s calm, easy to handle, and enjoys exploring the world at a gentle pace. However, he *can* jump a 4-foot fence, so he will need a secure yard with a taller fence or supervised outdoor time to keep him safe. Dean and Jackie are looking for a patient, loving home that will give them the time and reassurance they need to settle in. With understanding and consistency, Dean will blossom into the loyal, affectionate companion he’s meant to be. If you’re ready to open your heart to a sweet, sensitive boy and his best friend, Dean and Jackie are waiting to meet you.

Meet Trixy, basically a little bundle of sunshine on four paws. Trixy is the social butterfly of her litter. While some pups take a minute to warm up, Trixy is ready to be your best friend from the second she meets you! She is sweet, loving, and incredibly social, making her the perfect addition to a busy, happy home. She loves meeting new people and soaking up all the chin scratches she can get. Playful & Energetic: In true Aussie fashion, she’s always up for a game or an adventure. Family Ready: * Dogs: She’s very social and loves playing with her canine buddies.Kids: Gentle, fun, and great for a family with children. Cats: She hasn’t been introduced to cats yet, but at 11 weeks old, she’s at the perfect age to learn! Trixy is looking for a home where she can be part of the action. Whether it’s a walk in the park, a training session in the backyard (she’s smart and ready to learn!), or a cuddle session on the floor, she just wants to be involved. She has so much love to give and can't wait to find a family to call her own. Puppy Tip: Trixy is at that golden age for socialization and training!
