Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Charlotte, NC *This dog doesn’t belong to ASF and hasn’t been evaluated by ASF.* Meet Ozzie! She is a 5-year-old Australian Shepherd and weighs 35 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Ozzie is nervous around strangers! No kids, cats, or dogs, due to her reactivity! Once she trusts you, Ozzie is sweet and loving! She loves to play and has a lot of energy! In 2023, she bit someone after they tried to take something out of her mouth, that she stole from the trash. She also bit someone on the ankle after they tried to prevent her from eating food that had fallen onto the floor. In May 2024, she bit a family member who was dog sitting her. He walked into the home; she growled and gave him a warning. He continued to enter the home, so she lunged and clamped onto his pant leg. He tried to remove her, and she bit his hand. In April 2025, she bit the ankle of a dog sitter who got too close to her while she was eating. On 5/12/25, she bit the owner after they tried taking away a toy that she destroyed, so she wouldn’t choke on it. Ozzie also has a history of nipping and biting upon being startled, without giving any sign on a warning, other than a whale eye. She is on 20mg of fluoxetine daily for her fear and anxiety. The owner is surrendering her because of her reactivity issues, especially towards people and other dogs. They are also expecting a baby and don’t want her to hurt their baby. She needs to go by 8/1! If you think you can provide a great home for Ozzie, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Ozzie. Owner’s Contact Information: Chloe chloe.brengman@gmail.com

Story
Meet Henry – A Gentle Soul Ready for the Love He’s Never Known Just look at that face — the kind, hopeful eyes and the biggest, most joyful grin you’ve ever seen. That’s Henry, and he’s smiling because, at 6 years old, he just experienced his very first bath. A small thing to most dogs, but for Henry, it was a moment of love, care, and attention he had waited a lifetime to feel. It was his spa day — a celebration of a fresh start, of a life that’s finally turning a corner. Henry’s story begins back in 2019, when he was just a 6-week-old pup, full of wonder and trust. He was adopted by a family who, sadly, didn’t keep that promise of forever. He was soon discarded — left behind at a relative’s house where he lived largely ignored and forgotten. When asked if they wanted him back, the answer was chilling: “If I get him, I’ll just take him out in the field and shoot him.” But that wasn’t the end of Henry’s story. That was the beginning of his rescue. Critter Cavalry Rescue stepped in, wrapping him in the care, safety, and dignity that he always deserved. And Henry? Despite the heartbreak, despite the neglect, he is still one of the sweetest, most forgiving, most loving dogs you could ever meet. His heart is big. His spirit is unbroken. And his tail still wags with hope. Henry is an Australian Shepherd mix, weighing 41 pounds — a perfect size for cuddling, road tripping, and everything in between. He’s wonderful with people, great with other dogs, and so eager to learn. He's still brushing up on house manners, but his intelligence and desire to please make him a joy to work with. He’s gentle, solid, and has a calm presence that brings peace wherever he goes. Henry has never truly had a family that saw him — not really. Not as the loyal, loving, tender-hearted companion he is. But that’s going to change. Because the right person, the right family, will see the treasure he is. They’ll see the gratitude in his eyes, the joy in his walk, the comfort in his quiet companionship. He’s ready to be your couch buddy, your walking pal, your faithful shadow. He’s the perfect age — past the puppy chaos, but with years of life and love still ahead. What he needs now is someone to show him that he’s home. For good. If you feel your heart pulling toward Henry — if you believe in second chances and forever love — please reach out. Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com and ask about Henry. Let’s write the next chapter of Henry’s story — one filled with laughter, security, adventure, and above all, love. He’s waited a long time. Now it’s his turn         PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 18, 2025, 12:39 pm

Story
Meet Boomer – Your New Best Friend in the Making! &#226&#156&#168   Boomer is a 10-week-old, 12-pound pup with a heart as big as his paws—and he's ready to find a family to call his own. Friendly doesn’t begin to cover it. His foster mom describes him as the most affectionate puppy she’s ever had in her care!   Boomer is incredibly people-oriented and thrives on human connection. He’s a true companion dog who loves being close to his person, whether it’s curling up for a cuddle or following you from room to room like a loyal little shadow. He completely relaxes when held, making him an ideal snuggle partner.   Smart, playful, and full of puppy charm, Boomer is already chasing after toys (although returning them is still a work in progress). He enjoys playing with his siblings but clearly prefers the company of his foster mom, soaking up every bit of attention he missed out on early in life.   Boomer would be a wonderful addition to a home looking for a loving, devoted, and joyful new family member. If you’re ready to welcome this sweet tail-wagging bundle of love into your life, please reach out!    Contact: ccrnewengland@gmail.com Rescue: Critter Cavalry Rescue   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 21, 2025, 1:41 pm
