Story
DOB 8-20-2023 Ralph is just a good boy, he gets along well with others, loves to run and play and is social. He is neutered, heartworm negative and has received a Proheart 6 injection. His adoption fee is 600.00, transport fee is 165.00. Our transport is HEARTS, they run every 2 weeks. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick, the Joey is your guy. We think this gorgeous, tricolor male could be a cross between an Australian Shepard and an English Shepard, both of which are very intelligent breeds. He would be the perfect dog for someone who works from home. Joey walks well on a leash, even though he pulls a bit, and rides well in a car. Joey gets along well with other dogs and loves to play with the dogs in his foster home. Joey would make a great hiking buddy as he is always ready for an adventure. He was picked up as a stray and is guesstimated to be between 3-5 years old. Due to his activity level, we think he is closer to 3 years old. Joey has been neutered, is to up to date on vaccinations and is microchipped. Unfortunately, Joey did test positive for heartworms. Since he is asymptomatic for heartworms, he is on the slow kill method to eliminate them, and he should test negative in a year or two. In the meantime, he can live life normally without any restrictions. Joey’s adoption donation is $450 which includes the $165 transport fee. Joey is being fostered in Arkansas. If you would like to adopt Joey, please fill out an adoption application. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. Story
It’s obvious that Chet has STAR quality! Not only is he the most handsome guy around, but he is also a very affectionate dog and he is very smart. He went to puppy school as a youngster and learned his basic commands. He being on the receiving end of his human’s attention, snuggling with them on the couch, sleeping in the bed with them and he always gives kisses freely. He’s a lot of fun too… loves to play with toys, and if you’ll throw them, he will catch and retrieve balls and frisbees. Chet is a fairly quiet and a little shy and he want’s all of his human’s attention for himself. That being said, he needs to be the only dog in the home. He gets along with other dogs as long as they are laid back/submissive, but prefers not to live with them. He hasn’t been around little kids, but would be fine around older kids that would respect him and treat him with kindness. Chet will make a wonderful companion for some lucky family! He is three years old (dob 11/9/21) and weighs 40-45 pounds, has been neutered, micro-chipped, 4DX heartworm tested, fecal tested, is current on all vaccinations, worming, heartworm and flea prevention. His adoption fee is $400. Chet is being fostered in Tennessee. Once adopted he will be transported to his pickup location by a professional dog transport company. Our rescue ships to the Northeast area every week and his fee includes transportation. Due to state laws, we cannot accept applications from residents of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Maine since we can’t adopt directly to those states.

These pups are in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania too!

Story
My husband have had our border collie since he was 8 weeks old, and he just turned 5 in January. He’s has issues with resource guarding and reactivity. He does well at doggy daycare and warms up to people once he has a few moments to sniff and bark at them. The issue is that we now have a baby and our dog is just not happy. His resource guarding has gotten worse and he’s constantly stressed. My husband and I also just no longer have the time to devote to his needs. Our dog would thrive in a home with experienced collie owners. He needs a home with no children. He has never been around cats, but he has shown prey drive towards other small animals like squirrels and rabbits. He will likely do best as a singleton animal. Our dog is so sweet and goofy. He’s got that classic border collie neuroticness. He loves car rides and playing fetch. In the summertime, he likes to chill out in one of those kiddie pools. We are based in the Harrisburg area.
