Story
DOB 8-20-2023 Ralph is just a good boy, he gets along well with others, loves to run and play and is social. He is neutered, heartworm negative and has received a Proheart 6 injection. His adoption fee is 600.00, transport fee is 165.00. Our transport is HEARTS, they run every 2 weeks. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick then Joey is your guy. We think this gorgeous tricolor male could be a cross between an Australian Shepherd and an English Shepherd, both of which are very intelligent breeds. Joey does not like being crated and he thinks it is totally unnecessary as he has really good house manners. Joey LOVES to be outside during the day and he would make a great hiking buddy as he is always ready for an adventure. However, he is not hyper at all, and also likes to just chill out if that’s what you prefer. Joey does well with other dogs and would be happiest with another dog in the house unless you are home all the time. Each morning when he is let out into the fenced back yard, he goes out the door, stops, turns around and waits for the other foster dog to come out before proceeding off the deck. Joey was picked up as a stray by and is guesstimated to be 3-5 years old. Joey walks well on a leash, even though he pulls a bit at first, and he rides well in a car. Joey weighed 46.4 pounds on 3/26/26. He has been neutered, microchipped and is up to date on vaccinations. Unfortunately, he did test heartworm positive. He is asymptomatic for heartworms and is on the doxycycline protocol which is the “slow kill” method. On this protocol, Joey receives monthly heartworm prevention to protect him from further heartworm infestation and he gets doxycycline twice a day every other month until he tests negative for heartworms. He can be given a proheart 6 or a proheart 12 shot if adopter prefers that method of heartworm prevention rather than the monthly dosing. Also, on this protocol he has no activity restrictions so he can live life normally throughout the treatment process. With this protocol he should test negative in a couple of years.Joey’s adoption donation is $450 which includes the $165 transport fee. Joey is being fostered in Arkansas. Story
This decision has not been made lightly, but we are looking to rehome our girl. Ella is 9 years old and is a good dog. She is a pure bread Australian shepherd and loves to play fetch. She is protective of her space and her people so will "heard" visitors in the house but has never actually bit someone aggressively. We had to move in with my parents and although they gave a chance to keep her, they would like her gone as she has started to "heard" my grandfather because she doesn't like the sound of his walker and we can't have her knocking him over. We also have had 4 kids on 3 years (twins in March) and she is just having a difficult time adjusting to the decrease in attention. She knocks the older two over and has stepped on one of the babies. Because of these actions she ends up being locked in a basement most of the day, which doesn't help these actions at all. She just deserves better and I hope to find someone who can give her what she deserves as I am no longer able.
