Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Jonestown, PA Meet Kilo! He is an 3 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs around 60 lbs. He is neutered and microchipped, but isn’t up to date on shots or on heartworm prevention. Kilo is shy with strangers (especially men), but warms up after a while. He is good with kids, cats, and farm animals! He can be a little standoffish with men at first, but will warm up after a while. He is nervous around larger dogs. He has never lived with another dog before and will bark at other dogs out of fear, because he was attacked as a puppy. He may also need training on how to share toys/bones with another dog. However, he will eventually play with them once he warms up to them. Kilo is housebroken and crate-trained. He loves to go on runs/walks and play fetch! The owner is surrendering him because they are unable to provide the attention that he needs. If you think you can provide a great home for Kilo, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Kilo. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.***COURTESY LISTING*** Hi, my name is NOVA-LYNN, I was Sadie prior to adoption and I am a twin.  My brother and I were in the same sack at Birth.  Rare but does happen.  I am an 8 month old Australian Shepherd/Boxer mix and am currently 25lbs.  My Mom is now looking to rehome me do to my jumpiness and I have knocked down her 2 yr old daughter and I am not fond of my Mother giving her more attention then me.  I am in the beginning stages of what some may call Separation Anxiety and I also have the Herding tendancy which is not good with the 2 year old.  I am a sweet, on the hyper side, leash trained, crate trained, house trained (I do have an occasional accident), love to go for car rides but I do get sick, love to play and be by your side or in your lap.  I love all people including kids just dont have the mannerisms for young children.  I need an active family and a fenced in yard would be great to help with my Energy level.  I know my basic commands and we are working on me not jumping. I am currently located in Dallastown, PA. If interested in meeting me, please complete an adoption application at:   HTTPS://homewardbound2u.rescuegroups.org If you already have an approved application on file with us, email my Mom at: stacylynner@gmail.com   let her know 1.a little about your family members  2. what your day to day life looks like  3. when you would be able to meet me "Homeward Bound Animal Rescue are licensed and inspected by PA Dept. of Dog Law.  Our license numbers are 4914, 16902 and 16903"Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 13, 2024, 9:34 am

Story
Finnegan is a sweet boy - well behaved - yet, will be shy at first with new people, but not aggressively so. He always seems to enjoy children & other dogs. Finn has lived with cats in the past & was fine with them, although would not overly interact with them - except to sniff them briefly, as they might walk by. Unfortunately, he has had seizures in the past & now is given meds that have seemed to help greatly! Health concerns are not my reason for giving him up - 'it breaks my heart, to do so' - however, so many places to live at will not allow for pets/dogs especially. Finn has good energy for 10+ years - he's actually at a pretty perfect stage, right now, behavior wise. Even, his potty habits are great, really! Enjoys car rides & he gets around with no problems - and will interact with you, as you interact with him.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Image growing up in a yard with a human throwing you food over a fence and pouring water in your already dirty water day after day.  The human never touched you or the other three dogs in the yard and you lived outside like this summer, winter spring and fall until finally 8 years into your life someone reported your owner to the authorities and they finally came to save you!  You found yourself placed in a box separate from the only friends you had ever known.  Taken to a noisy shelter, poked, probed, bathed and then stuck in a kennel alone.  WOW SCARY right???  Well that was the experience for Max's, his best friend Moose and his 2 other fur buddies.  Unfortunately the oldest of the 4 was quite ill and passed away :(   The other one was adopted and seems to be doing well.  Max's was very shut down until the shelter staff placed him with Moose and then they saw Max's come back to life!   We couldn't allow Max's to lose the only friend he has ever had on this earth so we are taking both boys and they will only be adopted as a bonded pair with a contract signed that they will NOT be separated!! Max's & Moose will have to learn to live in a home, walk on a leash and understand what it is like to be valued and actually LOVED by a human.  If you would like to be considered for the boys please fill out an adoption application.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!October 11, 2024, 7:49 pm
