Hi, I’m Hoss! I’m a gentle, low-key guy who may need a couple of days to come out of my shell, but once I do, I’m all about the cuddles! Start sweet-talking and petting me and there’s a good chance I’ll immediately flop over for belly rubs and hugs. I’m house trained, have excellent leash manners, and mostly prefer relaxing inside with my people. I currently live with another dog, but I tend to politely avoid her rather than interact, so I’d likely be happiest as your one-and-only pup. I can also get lonely when my people are away and may howl or bark, so a home where someone is around often would be ideal. I love meeting people, going for leisurely walks, and most of all just hanging out with my humans. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Today we met two amazing puppers who have already lost their owners and are now facing the possibility of losing their home too. We are NOT going to allow them to lose each other. We are committed to helping these two find a new place to call home — together. This decision has not been made lightly, but we are looking to rehome our girl. Ella is 9 years old and is a good dog. She is a pure bread Australian shepherd and loves to play fetch. She is protective of her space and her people. I am not sure how she would do with other kids, but she is good with our 4 kids ages 3 and under. We are just not able to provide her with the life she deserves as we just had twins and our hands are full as it is. She deserves a better life.
