Story
Meet Benny! Looking for a brilliant best friend? This 6-month-old Border Collie/Aussie mix is as smart as he is sweet! Weighing in at about 25 lbs, Benny is the perfect blend of brains, heart, and playful puppy energy. Benny is a very smart dog, already crate-trained , almost completing house-training, and already knows “sit” and “shake”! He gets along well with other dogs but will chase cats. True to his herding-dog roots, Benny thrives on mental and physical fun. He loves playing fetch, playing with other dogs, learning new tricks with treats! The world is still a scary place for him and he is sensitive to loud noises and scared of walking nearby moving vehicles. He's looking for a family that understands his needs and is excited to continue his training with positive reinforcement. He could be little shy about meeting new people at first, but he warms up with patience and kindness—then his affectionate side shines through. Once he trusts you, he’s a world-class cuddler who bonds deeply with his people. He has medium energy and would love a yard where he can run, play, and stretch those long legs. He’s great with other dogs—his puppy enthusiasm can be a bit much for some, but a playful canine companion could be a perfect match. Bonus! Benny’s adoption includes two free training sessions with Clementine Dog Training, to help set him (and you!) up for success as he continues learning and growing. Benny would do best with: - A patient family familiar with herding breeds who can help him build confidence - Someone excited to continue positive reinforcement training and enrichment - A home with a yard for playtime - Potentially another playful, compatible dog If you’re looking for a smart, loyal companion to grow with, Benny is your boy! Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. His adoption fee is $200. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Story
Meet Misio — Your Sweet, Goofy Teddy Bear! ❤️Misio is a cuddly, medium-energy Australian Shepherd (35–37 lbs) who loves people, long walks, sniffing adventures, and relaxing near his humans. He warms up instantly and enjoys respectful kids. His crossed-paw lounging pose and little tuft of hair by his eye make him extra charming.Misio is house-trained, crate-trained, and well-mannered in the home—though he’ll counter-surf if food is within reach. He knows basic commands and is very food-motivated. He walks best on a long leash and settles nicely after the initial excitement. He rides well in a crate. He should be an only pet. He can pass some dogs politely but is unpredictable with others and doesn’t like sharing toys. No cats. He’s fine around livestock when supervised. He loves kids but will react if handled roughly, so he needs a home with respectful boundaries.Misio is healthy, takes a few supplements, and is at a great weight after losing 16 lbs. He still prefers gentle handling around his collar and during grooming, but he has made wonderful progress.A fenced yard and positive-reinforcement family would be ideal. Misio is affectionate, goofy, loyal, and ready for a home that appreciates both his adventurous side and his snuggly one.Dogs are not placed on a first- come, first-served basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. ALL CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $100. Story
Luna is a 3 or 4 year black and white 49 pound majestic Aussie mix. She came to be a part of CAWS family because her home had too many dogs. We are so extremely thankful to have this mystic beauty, she oozes utter sweetness, a little skittish and scared but we just let her know she has whatever time she needs to decompress, feel safe and unconditional love. She is totally house and crate trained but she does not have to be in a crate if she does not want to, the door is left open so she can come in and out as she pleases. She extremely likes to cuddle on the couch with her 2 legged people and sleep with them. She is a total Velcro dog, gets up and follows her 2 legged people, underfoot. She is okay with the other dogs but seems a little afraid of them at first, she needs proper introductions and time to warm up to them, then they are her best friend. Luna has a personality that is stunning with an irresistible presence; she does not have a mean bone in her body. She is slowly building confidence in her foster home, thank goodness. She is safe and secure now, patiently waiting for an awesome furever family to give her the best furever home she could ever ask for. Luna needs a fenced yard so she can meander and take whatever time she needs to do her business and lounge in the sun when she wants to. She walks okay on a leash but needs a little coaxing, not a jerk but a gentle tug. She is still on the younger side so she could use walking or hiking to burn up her energy. This magnificent gal just needs to find the home she can call her own, which she is so deserving of. Because of her submissiveness, she should go to a home with older or no children so she does not get any more intimidated than she already is. She needs a home that will not crate her, preferablely 2 legged people who work from home or are home all day. She will need occasional brushings or a spa day to stay beautiful. If you are looking for a glorious girl to be an unconditional friend, please make arrangements for a meet and greet.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200.
