Story
This stunning guy is Misio, pronounced 'Misho' which is Polish for Teddy Bear. Misio is a 9 year old Australian Shepherd who is currently on a diet to get to his ideal weight of about 37 pounds. Misio is looking for a patient and mature household to live the rest of his years. He is working through some trust issues and is learning to let his guard down. But once he knows you are safe, he will be yours forever. Misio likes to be near people but isnt overly cuddly, he is content to be in his own space near you. He'd do best in a home with adults only and no other animals. Misio is still very active and he would love to be your hiking, camping, or running companion! He is very outgoing and loves to chase a ball around the yard. He is also very smart and picks up on training quickly. Misio needs a forever home that can provide him with mental stimulation and a physical outlet. He can be chill in the house, but is also not a couch potato. He is house trained and crate trained and walks well on leash. With a little bit of training, a dash of patience, and a person who will be active with him, Misio will be an amazing companion for years to come! Dogs are not placed on a first- come, first-served basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. ALL CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in adopting Misio, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-application If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationJuly 24, 2025, 6:33 am

Story
Meet Benny! Looking for a brilliant best friend? This 6-month-old Border Collie/Aussie mix is as smart as he is sweet! Weighing in at 20 lbs, Benny is the perfect blend of brains, heart, and playful puppy energy.Benny is already crate-trained and house-trained, and he quickly adapts to household routines. True to his herding-dog roots, he’s eager to learn and loves having a “job” to do. He already knows how to sit and shake, and with his intelligence and eagerness to please, he’ll be a training superstar in no time.A little shy at first, Benny warms up with patience and kindness—then his affectionate side shines through. Once he trusts you, he’s a world-class cuddler who bonds deeply with his people.Benny thrives on both mental and physical activity. He has medium energy and would love a yard where he can run, play, and stretch those long legs. Because he’s still young, he’ll need a family that can give him time outside the crate and plenty of engagement throughout the day. He’s great with other dogs—his puppy enthusiasm can be a bit much for some, but a playful canine companion could be a perfect match. With a slow introduction, he can also do well with cats!&#226&#156&#168 Bonus! Benny’s adoption includes two free training sessions with Clementine Dog Training, to help set him (and you!) up for success as he continues learning and growing.Benny would do best with:- A patient family familiar with herding breeds who can help him build confidence- Someone excited to continue positive reinforcement training and enrichment- A home with a yard for playtime- Potentially another playful, compatible dogIf you’re looking for a smart, loyal companion to grow with, Benny is your boy!Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Story
Meet Kayli – From Couch Potato to Backyard Athlete! When Kayli first arrived at her foster home, she was sick, overweight, and struggling just to walk. With lots of love, care, and a dedicated nutrition program, this resilient girl has transformed into a happy, healthier pup who now lives for playtime and zoomies around the backyard. She’s ready to find her forever family — could it be you?Kayli is a world-class cuddle bug who can’t get close enough to her people. Belly rubs are her absolute favorite — if you start petting her, she’ll dramatically flop onto the ground to make sure you have easy access. She loves walks, but she’s just as happy to hang out at home, keeping you company. She’s a friendly girl who loves meeting new people (and kids!), though she can get a little too excited at first and bark out her greetings. A brief leash introduction with small children works best, and once she settles down, she’s all wiggles and love.Kayli does well with other dogs, especially those who respect her space. She’s happily shared her foster home with an older dog and even had a blast playing with a goofy young pup for a short time. Her “cherry eye” is just a cosmetic quirk — it doesn’t cause her any pain, require any treatment, or slow her down one bit. In fact, it adds a little extra charm to her sweet face. Why you’ll love Kayli:- Sweet, affectionate, and loves belly rubs- Playful but also content to relax with you- Friendly with people, kids, and respectful dogs- Healthy, fixed, microchipped, and vaccinatedKayli has come so far, and now she’s ready to share her second chance at life with a family who will cherish her. If you’re looking for a loving, playful companion who’s as happy chasing toys as she is snuggling on the couch, Kayli might just be your perfect match. Story
Meet Forest, a 7-year-old Australian Shepherd mix with a gentle heart that’s still learning how to trust the world. Life hasn’t always been easy for him, and people are still a little scary—but with patience, kindness, and the comfort of a calm home, Forest is already showing that he can blossom. Now settling into a foster home, Forest is experiencing what it’s like to be a loved pet for the first time. He watches everything quietly, taking cues from the dogs around him. Other dogs are his safe place—he clings to them for confidence, follows their lead, and truly relaxes when he’s in their company. A friendly, steady canine companion will help him continue to grow.At the shelter, Forest surprised everyone with his bravery. He enjoyed rides in a stroller, where he felt secure enough to peek out and observe the world. Little by little, he even started taking gentle walks on leash, showing just how much possibility lies beneath his timid exterior.Forest is searching for a loving adopter who understands that trust takes time. He needs someone willing to move at his pace, offer space when he needs it, and celebrate every small step forward. With patience and a quiet, supportive home—especially one with another dog—Forest will keep coming out of his shell. If your heart has room for a shy dog with enormous potential, Forest is ready to begin that journey with you.

Whether it’s a stroll in the park, a game of fetch, or curling up for a quiet evening together, Banjo brings joy, warmth, and steady love to every moment. Breed Info: Australian Shepherds are known for their intelligence, loyalty, and boundless affection. They are energetic and curious, loving both physical and mental stimulation. With proper training, they become devoted companions, always eager to bond with their families. Banjo’s loving and gentle personality makes him ideal for homes that can provide exercise, structure, and plenty of attention. Provide him with a balanced diet, regular grooming, and continued positive training — and you’ll have a loyal best friend who adores you unconditionally. Things to Consider Before Adopting: Before bringing Banjo home, consider: Do you have time for daily walks, play, and quality bonding? Are you ready for a medium-high energy dog who loves to stay active? Is your home and landlord pet-friendly? Can you commit to a dog for his entire lifetime, through moves, life changes, and everyday life? Are you prepared to continue training and enrichment throughout his life? A dog is forever family — make sure you’re ready to open your heart and home completely. Vet Care: Banjo is healthy, vaccinated, and neutered. Even though he’s in great shape, please schedule a visit with your trusted vet soon after adoption to establish ongoing care and wellness. The 3-3-3 Rule & Commitment for Life: The first 3 days: Let him decompress and get comfortable with his new surroundings. The first 3 weeks: Banjo will learn your home, your routine, and begin to trust you completely. The first 3 months: He’ll know he’s truly home, safe, and loved.
