04/04/24 - Monte was recently adopted from our facility, but returned due to him having guarding his food. Food guarding is a relatively easy behavior to control with a little training and persistence. Feeding him in a separate room by himself is a great start. We have resources available for anyone that is willing to put in the time to help him.OBSERVED BY SHELTER STAFF: Monte is still very much a puppy and has been a counter surfer here at the shelter. He will need some help with that when in a home. He walks pretty well on the leash for his age and knows the sit command. He is house trained and loves to sit by a person’s feet. He needs some help not guarding his food; he will need to be fed in a room by himself until he can be worked with. He’s not a fan of fast movements or loud sounds and would prefer a quiet home with older, respectful children. He doesn’t seem to mind other dogs and previously lived with a cat and they got along well. Weighs 39 pounds; $25 to adopt.

OBSERVED BY SHELTER STAFF: Jerry is a shy fellow that warms up to people that approach him gently. Once he knows you, he likes to dance and talk! He also enjoys going for walks so he can sniff and explore. He should not go into a home with small children or animals. He doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter, but a meet and greet is recommended. He walks okay on the leash and knows the sit command.Weighs 41 pounds; $25 to adopt.

This stunning guy is Misio, pronounced 'Misho' which is Polish for Teddy Bear. Misio is a 7.5 year old Australian Shepherd who is currently on a diet to get to his ideal weight of about 37 pounds. Misio is looking for a patient and mature household to live the rest of his years. He is working through some trust issues and is learning to let his guard down. But once he knows you are safe, he will be yours forever. Misio likes to be near people but isnt overly cuddly, he is content to be in his own space near you. He'd do best in a home with adults only and no other animals. Misio is still very active and he would love to be your hiking, camping, or running companion! He is very outgoing and loves to chase a ball around the yard. He is also very smart and picks up on training quickly. Misio needs a forever home that can provide him with mental stimulation and a physical outlet. He can be chill in the house, but is also not a couch potato. He is house trained and crate trained and walks well on leash. With a little bit of training, a dash of patience, and a person who will be active with him, Misio will be an amazing companion for years to come! I love to play and wrestle with my foster brothers. And, I am really good at taking cues from them, when my puppy antics have become a little too much. My foster mom describes me as smart, athletic, fun and supper cuddly. I'm a social butterfly. I love to meet and play with the neighborhood kids that come to visit me and my brother. I would do well in a home with other dogs and older, dog-savvy kids. I have never met cats; but, because of my herding dog heritage, I would probably want to chase them. My ideal home would be one with a fenced yard to keep me safe while I play and an active family who will take me on long walks and hikes or other outdoor adventures on the weekends. Hi! My name is Nedder (Ned) and I am a male Aussie x German Shepherd mix pup. I was rescued by Herding Haven with my sisters (Dusty and Lucky). I am the most laid back of my siblings (well, relatively speaking...I am after all a puppy!). Unlike my sister Dusty who is always "game on", I like to take in a situation before I "jump in". I'm smart and really love to learn (especially if I get yummy rewards). I already know how to "sit" and come to my name. I am crate-trained, 75% house-trained, and learning to walk on a leash. I'm a cuddly boy and will jump into your lap whenever you sit down. I respect the older dogs in my foster home and love to play with the younger ones. We got Roxy 1.5 year ago as a puppy. She is sweet, loving playful but shy at first and protective. Shea funny girl she wants to play with te cat which is hilarious andher toys Shes not an aggressive dog but she wants to chase & traumatize chickens. She protects our one cat from our other dog but doesn't get along with our other cat that well. Shes funny will sleep a lot if she;s not active and likes to lay on her back. She is mini aussie and mom was full size golden doodle but shes got short legs long body, i think her fur might be hypo allergenic because she barely sheds. She's crate trained and house trained. Crate cost is included in adoption. She gets zoomies in the morning she still young but doesn;t chew my stuff She;ll need a 5 foot fence if outside, shes a great companion We've been working on her barking at the front door but has responded well to bark collar She s a big kisser too. Very healthy beautiful teeth. I'm sad but hubby says no more chasing
