Story
This stunning guy is Misio, pronounced 'Misho' which is Polish for Teddy Bear. Misio is a 7.5 year old Australian Shepherd who is currently on a diet to get to his ideal weight of about 37 pounds. Misio is looking for a patient and mature household to live the rest of his years. He is working through some trust issues and is learning to let his guard down. But once he knows you are safe, he will be yours forever. Misio likes to be near people, but not necessarily hugged or cuddled with. He is content to be in his own space near you. He'd do best in a home with adults only and no other animals. Misio is still very active and he would love to be your hiking, camping, or running companion! He is very outgoing and loves to chase a ball around the yard. He is also very smart and picks up on training quickly. Misio needs a forever home that can provide him with mental stimulation and a physical outlet. He can be chill in the house, but is also not a couch potato. He is house trained and crate trained and walks well on leash. With a little bit of training, a dash of patience, and a person who will be active with him, Misio will be an amazing companion for years to come! Dogs are not placed on a first- come, first-served basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. ALL CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in adopting Misio, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-application If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationMarch 27, 2024, 11:35 am

Story
Hi! My name is Cisco (short for Francisco) and I am a Aussie x red heeler mix pup. As far as herding puppies go, I'm pretty laid back. But, I'm definitely no couch potato! I love to play and wrestle with my foster brothers. And, I am really good at taking cues from them, when my puppy antics have become a little too much. My foster mom describes me as smart, athletic, fun and supper cuddly. I'm a social butterfly. I love to meet and play with the neighborhood kids that come to visit me and my brother. I would do well in a home with other dogs and older, dog-savvy kids. I have never met cats; but, because of my herding dog heritage, I would probably want to chase them. My ideal home would be one with a fenced yard to keep me safe while I play and an active family who will take me on long walks and hikes or other outdoor adventures on the weekends. I am crate-trained, about 95% house-broken and up-to-date on my vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting me, please contact kathie@herdinghaven.org

Story
HI! My name is Sofia and I am 2-3 yr old female Aussie mix. I have had a bit of a "ruff" start in life-- 3 homes in less than 3 years all due to no fault of my own. My previous owners just couldn't commit to me and have truly failed me. I am a little shy when I first meet you, but I warm up quickly and then am the typical Aussie velcro dog. Where you go, I will follow! I am very sweet and have a moderate energy level-- a daily walk and lots of snuggles on the couch is all I need to live my best life! Children make me very nervous, so a home without kids s a must for me. I can be a little selective when it comes to my doggy friends. I don't like dogs that come on too strong or get in my face. Older, more mellow dogs are OK. I am not a fan of cats, so a furever home that is feline free is a must. I am house-broken, crate-trained, spayed and up-to-date on my vaccinations. Story
Hi! My name is Nedder (Ned) and I am a male Aussie x German Shepherd mix pup. I was rescued by Herding Haven with my sisters (Dusty and Lucky). I am the most laid back of my siblings (well, relatively speaking...I am after all a puppy!). Unlike my sister Dusty who is always "game on", I like to take in a situation before I "jump in". I'm smart and really love to learn (especially if I get yummy rewards). I already know how to "sit" and come to my name. I am crate-trained, 75% house-trained, and learning to walk on a leash. I'm a cuddly boy and will jump into your lap whenever you sit down. I respect the older dogs in my foster home and love to play with the younger ones. I am still a bit of a mouthy puppy, so a home without toddlers would be best. Older (> 8 yr) kids would be OK. I have never met a cat, so I'm not sure how I would do with one of those. I am up-to-date on my vaccinations and will come with a discount for my neuter. If you are interested in meeting me, please contact kathie@herdinghaven.org

Story
Meet Willow: A Loving Companion in Search of a Stress-Free Home Willow is an intelligent and loyal canine companion, seeking a patient and loving forever home where she can thrive. We first welcomed Willow into our family from a KSL add. We were given minimal information by her previous owners just that they didn’t have the space to care for her anymore. Willow will be 8 in December and has grown into fiercely protective companion to those she loves and has been the source of a lot of joy in our home. However, it pains us to acknowledge that her presence in our home has since become a source of stress for our family and our other dog. We have family and new friends over a lot and with Willow’s inclination towards guarding and occasional aggression towards strangers, coupled with conflicts with our other dog, it has led us to the difficult decision of finding her a new home where she can be the center of attention without the pressure of navigating unfamiliar faces or other pets.

Story
Milo has been the best and the sweetest with our kids! We currently have taken positions that take us out of the house/state/country often and finding reliable care for him has been hard. He definitely loves when people are home and it’s felt very unfair to him. He loves hiking, playing fetch with a tennis ball, cuddling up in a warm spot and being around people. Full disclosure : He is wonderful with kids and not the best with other dogs. We don’t take him to the dog park and usually avoid other dogs while walking. Once he gets used to a dog, he has had no problem but I am sure he would prefer a home with no other dog. Milo takes medications for his allergies. He can get itchy if you don’t keep up on them.

Story
Candy is about 13 years old. We adopted her from a rescue in Texas in August 2013 who specializes in Australian Shepherds. We have another (male, mini Aussie) dog. They got along great for a number of years, but Candy has become quite aggressive showing her Alpha female side. Our other dog is now practically blind and deaf and we are concerned about her behavior towards him. She loves attention and we think she would be great in her golden years as the only dog in a home. We have enjoyed having her in our home. She likes going on walks, love treats and craves and eats up as much attention as she can get. She doesn't seem to care for the neighbors cats when they try to venture into our yard. Candy is about 22 pounds.

Story
Aspen is a 18 week old Heeler mix female who currently weighs about 25 pounds (and growing!). She is a love bug, enjoys cuddling and snuggling when she is not wiggling or doing zoomies! She has many friends in her foster family, getting along with cats, small chihuahuas, and a big Doberman. She lets the cats sleep in her bed. Aspen is doing awesome with her crate training. She attended 2 full days at puppy school with Kudos 2 Canine training. Potty training is a work in progress, but she is learning from the others. Her favorite joy is to be outside running in the sunshine. If you can keep up with her and enjoy playing she will be your best friend.Aspen would love another playful dog in her adoptive home and a family who takes her out on adventures to see the world outside of her back yard, attends a basic training course with her, and continues to socialize her with other pets, people and places. Aspen's adoption fee is $300 and includes her first years vaccines, deworming, health check, microchip, and spay. To be considered, please apply online at caws.org. Thanks! Story
Hi! My name is Raine and I am 1 year and 5 month old Australian Shepard/Border Collie/Pitbull mix. I am a very playful girl who will make you laugh with my silly personality, and my howls! I am shy at first, but once you gain my trust I am extremely loving and cuddly. I am also very loyal, I will follow you wherever you go! I don’t do well with other dogs right away, I need someone who will take the time to let me warm up to other dogs by going on pack walks. I have been able to make other dog friends by doing this! I will do best in a home with no other animals. I LOVE to go on adventures, especially paddle boarding and hiking. On-leash days in Millcreek canyon are my favorite because I’m able to enjoy the outdoors without other dogs getting in my space! I also love the snow, I could roll and play in it all day long! I am spayed, up-to-date on my vaccinations, crate-trained and potty trained.

Found this little guy sifting through a trash can on a trail I was one. He's the most loving, loyal, fun, happy, out-going, spunky, playful, fearless, and resilient pup anyone could ask for. As much as I wish I could keep him for myself, I know there is a loving home out there for him just waiting to be connected! I am leaving for the military soon and have been trying to find him a home for about 6 months now.
