Story
Hello this is my buddy. Her name is Lily and is 1 year old. She is a mix of border collie and husky. She was brought to us by a family member who was not able to take care of her. We took her in and trained her. She is a playful one who likes to cuddle. Her favorite toy is a green turtle and she likes to make it squeak. She needs someone who can give her the full attention she requiere while playing. She likes to play with other dogs but can get defensive if she feels she is in danger. Lily is a lovable girl and is excited in showing it always. Due to financial circumstances I have to work more and won’t be home much. I don't want her to be alone and although it will hurt to see her go, I rather wish her the best with someone who can take her better than I can.

She is learning about cats and being on a leash. She is housebroken with a dog door but was also house trained without one. She is a bit of energy so will need an active family to keep up! She is friendly and has gotten a long with other dogs of various sizes really well. She loves to play and is pure fun! She is located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

Meet Luna Lovegood!Luna Lovegood is a beautiful 3.5-year-old, 70-pound Border Collie/Terrier mix with a heart full of love! She was surrendered to us when her owners moved, but she’s ready to find a forever home where she can shine.Luna adores kids and gets along well with other dogs. She’s even cat-friendly—she simply ignores them! This sweet girl is house trained and crate trained, making her an easy addition to any home. While she’s not the biggest fan of car rides (they make her nervous), she’s otherwise a happy, loving companion who’s ready to be part of a family again. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate pup with a gentle nature, Luna Lovegood is waiting to meet you!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. Story
Name: Ballet Breeds: Border Collie Age: Puppy Sex: Female Size: Medium when fully grown Ballet is a gorgeous Border Collie puppy who was brought into the shelter after she was found wandering after puppy curfew. No one came for her so she is now looking for a home who will love her, train her, and put that smartypants border collie brain to work. Ballet is smart as a whip and learns so fast. She absolutely thrives on being given something to do to. Puzzle toys, flirt pole, training—yes please! Ballet is typical puppy so housetraining is a work in progress but she keeps her crate clean for the workday and overnight. She is fantastic with other dogs but will herd them playfully which doesn’t always go over well with some dogs especially the little ones. She has not been around cats but would need a proper introduction to them and reminders that they aren’t for play. Ballet is of the mindset that everything is for play! Due to her breed she would be best with older kids or a herding breed experienced home who understands the tendencies to heel nip and chase kiddos to tell them where to go. If you are looking for a super fun dog who wants to join in on adventures, learn anything you want to teach, and keep you active and on your toes, Ballet wants to meet you! Requirements: No special requirements Adoption Fee: $650 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, deworming, and microchip Interested in adopting? Story
Loki is a 2-year-old Border Collie mix and the sweetest boy ever! Weighing 60 pounds, he’s convinced he’s a lap dog, always eager to climb onto his humans for snuggles. One of his favorite ways to show affection is by putting both paws on your shoulders and nuzzling in for a hug. This quirky pup also likes to lay down to eat his food—just like the rest of us who enjoy a good meal on the couch!Loki has come a long way since arriving in his foster home. He is house trained on a regular schedule, and is pretty quiet overall, so he makes for a great roommate. While he loves being close to his humans, he settles well when left alone for a few hours. He now sleeps in the bedroom with the resident dogs at night and does just fine, happily curling up on the bed for snuggles. During the day, he’s left out in the house with both dogs and cats without any issues. He enjoys the company of other dogs and thrives with those that aren’t overly dominant, doing especially well when given a slow introduction. Loki did great at his last adoption event as well, behaving nicely with both people and other dogs. In terms of energy, Loki is a perfect balance—he loves to lounge and relax but is also up for a good play session. Fetch is one of his favorite games, and if you can’t reach a toy, don’t worry—he’ll bring it to you! He’s incredibly smart, playful, and eager to please, making him a wonderful companion. While a fenced yard is recommended for safe outdoor exploration, Loki has also shown great recall and stays close when outside without a leash. If you’re looking for an affectionate, fun-loving, and devoted companion, Loki is ready to bring his hugs into your life!If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional's recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal's history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Story
Meet Frank, a 1 year-old Border Collie/Labrador mix. Frank is a spirited and lovable boy bursting with energy and affection! He’s the perfect balance of playful and cuddly—whether he is chasing his favorite ball or curling up for snuggles he is happy.Frank is excited to meet new people. He was a shy boy initially, but has really come out of his shell. Once he warms up, he’s a bundle of fun and energy. He’s incredibly intelligent and absolutely adores puzzle and enrichment games, which keep his curious mind engaged. When he’s feeling comfortable, Frank can entertain himself with a ball for hours, showing off his playful and independent side. While he’s still getting used to walks and the sights and sounds of the outside world, Frank is great on a leash. He’s learning to build his confidence and will benefit from a patient and understanding adopter who can help him navigate his fears.Frank thrives on companionship and prefers to be around people and other dogs. Though he does okay in his own space when needed, he’s happiest when he’s part of the action. He’s also making great strides in training, quickly learning commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “come.” Frank responds well to “no” and “down.” He’s still learning which furniture is ok to be on and which isn’t, so he’d do best with someone willing to continue guiding him in this area. He is eager to learn and he’s a fast learner, so with guidance, he’ll master it in no time. Fully potty trained, Frank is a dream when it comes to house manners.Frank’s favorite thing in the world? Snuggling up in your lap for belly rubs. He’s the ultimate cuddle buddy and loves to share affection. He’s good with cats and other dogs, but we’re not sure how he feels about kids yet. A quieter home would likely be best for him, as loud noises and yelling make him nervous.Frank is learning how to use his crate and ride in the car. At first he is a bit hesitant to go in his crate, taking his time to sniff around and consider his options. But, once inside, he settles in comfortably, realizing it’s a safe and cozy place just for him. When he goes for car rides, he is always excited but a little nervous, so he is learning to settle in and enjoy the ride.If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who’s smart, playful, and full of potential, Frank might just be the perfect match for you!https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Check little Sienna out! This little border collie blend was found out in the cold on the streets of Ada, MN. She was held with the Ada Police Department for a weekend, and brought into NWMNAR first thing the following Monday morning at daybreak. Little Sienna stayed on stray hold for a week, has been spayed, brought up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and now looking for her furever home! This little gal is spirited and definitely holds her own. Her personality is bigger in size than she is with a bit of a dominant personality and is a quick learner. She has been around other dogs while vacationing here at the rescue and is brushing up on her social skills. Sienna is available for adoption, and is also currently seeking a foster home! Fine Print: All dogs of NWMNAR are screened at the headquarters in Ada, Mn until they are vetted. They are then transferred to foster homes throughout MN and some into ND so they can get used to lifestyles with a family in a home. Adoption fee for an adult dog is $300 + Mn tax. Adoption fee for a dog over 3 years of age is $300 + Mn tax., pup/dog1 year to 3 years is $400 + Mn tax. Under 1 year of age $500 + Mn tax. Free adoption applications can be found on our website at: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/NMA/Dog. Meet and greets will take place in a public setting along with the adoption if compatible. Dogs can be met in Ada, MN weekday and weekends, or in our alternate office location in Maple Grove, MN on weekends only. Once we receive your submission, our application review team will be in touch with you. Please have patience while they look over your application.

Snapshot of Gordy: Size? Medium-Large (48 lbs) Activity Level? High -he is a border collie mix, after all! ;) Noise Level? Low Good with Dogs? Yes Good with Cats? Yes Good with Kids? Likely, but no children in foster home. Good with Strangers? Yes Potty Trained? Yes, with appropriate supervision and a schedule. Crate Trained? Yes Shedding? Medium About Gordy: Hi, my name is Gordy! I also respond to Gordo, Gordito, Sir Gordon, and Cheesy Gordita Crunch. I am an adorable border collie/lab mix who wants nothing more than a home to call my own--and, preferably, a ball to call my own as well. I LOVE to chase balls, and if no balls are around, I'll make do with chasing anything you throw for me--stuffies, sticks, ropes... the options are endless. My foster mom says that I'm amazingly well adjusted given my relatively rough history. I was 1 of 16 (!!) dogs rescued from a local home, and I haven't had the best care before now. For example, you might notice that I have a bit of a limp due to a wonky front foot. The vet says that this is likely caused by a ruptured tendon that didn't heal right. Fortunately, it doesn't slow me down at all! I also recently had 8 front teeth removed, including 3 of my canines, which were all fractured, likely from biting at the bars of a crate. Still, nothing can bring down my happy-go-lucky personality (except, of course, when my foster mom puts away my ball for the night). Something else you should know about me is that I tested positive for two tick-borne diseases, Anaplasmosis and Lyme. I received treatment and I don’t have any signs of chronic Lyme infection - which is AMAZING news! I will likely continue to test positive for both of these for the rest of my life due to chronic antibodies. It is possible that I could develop side effects from Lyme later in my life but for now I’m a happy and healthy boy! Here's a bit more from my foster mom: An ideal home for Gordy would be one that can give him lots of mental and physical stimulation. He really enjoys chewing on bones and bully sticks, playing tug with toys, and playing fetch. He's also a smart boy and has picked up on sit, lay down, and crate up very quickly. We're working on some new commands for him to show off! I think he'd do great with someone who enjoys having a dog that can be a companion to them on a variety of adventures! Gordy is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for his age. Adoption Fee: $550 + applicable tax MEET ME/ADOPT ME: If you'd like to arrange a meeting or begin the adoption process, please fill out an adoption application by visiting https://www.twincitiespetrescue.org/adopt/ or clicking "adopt me! " Meet Maggie! Maggie is a sweet and happy pup, weighing 30 pounds. Shes friendly, loves meeting new people, and she is great with kids and other dogs. Maggie enjoys playtime, toys, and bones, but can also be a cuddle bug when she is chilling. Though still a puppy, Maggie is smart and eager to learn. Shes made great progress with her house training and basic commands in a short time. Shes also doing well on the leash and has even been on a couple of runs! While she can be a bit timid around new people and dogs while on a leash, shes becoming more confident each day. Maggie will thrive in an active home where she can learn/work, romp and play. She prefers to be with her people but she is getting used to hanging out in her crate. Maggie is a quick learner and would be a wonderful addition to any home looking for a playful, affectionate companion. Story
Bozley came into our lives in 2017. He is a wonderful, silly, spirited dog. He is 9yo but he definitely does not act like it! He loves to run; a large yard would be ideal for him. Fetch is a favorite game, but also tugga and barking. (Recall needs some work) He lived with another dog for years and they got along really well. No cuddling, as Boz prefers his personal space, but he loves to play chase! He'll try to teach other dogs to howl, too. Cats are also okay! He is working on leash manners. He's a sensitive boy and would love to smell everything, everyone that he can. Some jumping, a lot of pulling. He is VERY food motivated, which is excellent for training! He'll let you know if you're late to dinner, or if he'd like a taste of your food (he rarely steals, but will beg from afar). He is my sweet babe, but I can no longer take care of him due to some big life changes. I would love for him to go to a loving family with a large yard, maybe a dog friend for him.

Story
In the spring of 2023, we got a call about 4 dogs who were in bad shape and living in the woods a couple of hours from me. We set traps and were able to rescue 2 of the 4. We tried and tried to get the other 2, but we were unable to do so. Some of the local people continued to try to get them, as well, but couldn’t. I am still very sad about having to leave them behind. Chester and Chloe were near death when we rescued them. They were starving, their skin was horrible, and of course, they had every known parasite. They are healthy now. Chloe is still very shy, and I feel that she needs a special home with a lot of love, patience and attention! We do not see any aggression in her. She has been at Blue Ribbon Kennels now for 14 months and needs a forever and loving home so badly. She has never had the opportunity to live inside a house and to be part of a family. Chloe is in Mississippi. When adopted, she will come fully vetted and will be transported by Rescue Riders, a very reliable transporter. All of this is included in her adoption fee.
