Story
Please contact Sarah Maraschky (sarahm@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.CAN be fed after midnight! GIZMO NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name:  Gizmo        Best Guess for Breed:  Basset hound and terrier mix   Best Guess for Age:  2 years        SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight:   35 lbs   Gets Along With:   Other dogs! Gizmo has experience living with cats in his foster home. We are happy to discuss tips for introducing him to the kitties in your home! Due to his shy personality, he may not go to a home with children under the age of 12.    Currently Living at:  DC area foster home.  Special adoption considerations: Because Gizmo is shy, he needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog. Due to his shy personality, we do not recommend him for a home with children under the age of 12.   Gizmo is Looking For:  His forever home! Gizmo is so sweet and - just look at those short and stubby legs - he is incredibly cute! He would love to trot through the world with confidence, enjoying all the adventures his new humans can dream up! To get there, he needs extra patient and loving adopters who understand he has not gotten enough experience in new places yet, and a welcoming resident dog who can show him how to dog. Obedience school will help build his braves as well.  Gizmo most of all wants to know he is safe and loved and under his own roof for all his days. He has so much love and loyal companionship to offer in exchange. Best of all - he CAN be bathed and CAN be fed after midnight. What do you say? Does this sweet shy boy get his fresh start with you? What My Foster Says About Me: Gizmo has so much love to give and he deserves someone to love him back. He’s a great running partner, he’s doing great running on leash. We had 2 runs today and interacted with some pups along the way and he was very gentle to them. He gets attached very easily, he follows me everywhere around the house. I am sure that there’s nothing he can’t overcome with love and patience. Also biiig nap lover, if it wasn’t for his silly running, I would say he’s a lap dog.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament. Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life!  Please visit us online at      www.luckydoganimalrescue.org   .    BE A FOSTER!!!     Fosters make it possible for Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to save and care for homeless and abandoned dogs! To learn about fostering, please contact fostering@luckydoganimalrescue.org! Foster Homes Needed! Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html *****************   Luke came to us as a very overweight guy with seizures. He is in a wonderful foster home who helped him drop the extra weight and we're working on keeping his seizures under control. Luke gets along with everyone, including his 4-legged foster sister. His puppy dog eyes will melt your sole. He is a calm and gentle guy about 8ish yrs old.  He has the characteristic sniffing traits of his breed and is curious to investigate life around him when outdoors.  Luke has a sweet, quiet disposition.  He continues to be an easy going and good natured gentleman and is very nicely behaved in a home environment. Luke still has seizures from time to time so he needs an adopter who can handle his special needs.  **BECAUSE OF OUR REQUIREMENT FOR A HOME VISIT, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ADOPT TO HOMES IN THE NORTHERN VA / MARYLAND / DC METRO AREA** We have adoption events EVERY SATURDAY from 12-3 p.m. Please note that not all dogs can attend every event, so if you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please complete a no-obligation application on our website at http://www.muttloverescue.org/application.html OR write to adopt@muttloverescue.org. Foster Homes Needed! Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html *****************   Mariah is a sweet, friendly girl looking for her new BFF to share life with.  She wants to sit on the couch with you, put her head in your lap, get head scratches, watch TV and eat snacks.  Then she would love a long walk to work off some of those snacks.  Mariah is affectionate, energetic without being hyper, and she is house-trained!   She seems to want her very own person and space, and should therefore probably be an only dog.  She will be a wonderful companion in the right household.
