Please contact Sarah Maraschky (sarahm@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.little guy with lots of love!GIZMO NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!    Come meet Gizmo and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (July 28th) from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Silver Spring (12020 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904)!   Come meet Gizmo and other great adoptable dogs this Saturday (July 27th) from 12-2 pm at the Unleashed by Petco in Arlington (5400 Langston Blvd A, Arlington VA 22207)!     Name:  Gizmo        Best Guess for Breed:  Basset hound and terrier mix   Best Guess for Age:  2.5 years as of May 2024        SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight:   35 lbs   Gets Along With:   Gizmo loves to make doggie friends at the dog park and on walks. However, he would prefer to be the only dog in the home. Gizmo has lived with cats in his foster home and done well, and we are happy to give tips and tricks for introducing him to your kitty. Due to his shy personality, he may not go to a home with children under the age of 12.    Currently Living at:  DC area foster home.  Special adoption considerations: Due to his shy personality, we do not recommend Gizmo for a home with children under the age of 12.   Gizmo is Looking For:  His forever home! Meet Gizmo. What this sweet boy lacks in legs he makes up for in love. His short stature doesn't stop him from running, playing, and making new friends at the dog park. While he's always up for an adventure, he's just as happy to lay on the couch and snuggle during a rainy day, making him the perfect work from home buddy. He promises he'll try not to steal the show during your zoom meetings. Gizmo is a super smart cookie (who also happens to love cookies) so he would love to work on his obedience training, too! It'll help build his confidence and bond with his new pet parents. Most of all, Gizmo just wants to know he is safe and loved in his forever home.  What My Foster Says About Me: Gizmo has so much love to give and he deserves someone to love him back. He’s a great running partner, he’s doing great running on leash. We had 2 runs today and interacted with some pups along the way and he was very gentle to them. He gets attached very easily, he follows me everywhere around the house. I am sure that there’s nothing he can’t overcome with love and patience. Also biiig nap lover, if it wasn’t for his silly running, I would say he’s a lap dog.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Please contact Lowell Nelson (lowelln@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Maggie-moo! MAGGIE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:   Maggie      Best Guess for Breed:    Basset Hound Best Guess for Age:   2 yrs 4 months as of July 2024     Gender:    Female Approximate Weight:    34 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs;  not sure about kids and cats yet, but we can find out!  Currently Living At: Shelter, needs a foster or forever home!  Special Adoption Considerations: Maggie  is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Maggie is Looking For: A loving family ready to keep a big  smile on that wonderful hound face!  Maggie's up for anything--ready to run and play with you and any dogs she meets,  and relax on the couch when the playing is done.   She's ready to give sloppy basset hound kisses if you'd like to give her home!   What My Foster Says About Me: will update when she has a foster!  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
