Story
“Well hey there, sugar! I’m Daisy Mae, and yes—my legs are short, my ears are long, and my future size is… well, let’s just say ‘to be determined.’ Mama’s a Basset Hound, Daddy’s a Great Pyrenees, and I seem to have inherited the compact frame of one and the potential heft of the other. Think: fun-sized but possibly dense like a delicious little loaf of puppy bread. I’m sweet as pie (the homemade kind, the kind with real butter), but I’ve also got a streak of Basset stubbornness that could win awards. I might pretend I don’t hear you, but I do—I’m just deciding if your idea is also my idea. I’m a tiny bit shy at first, but once I’m comfy, get ready for kisses for days. I love being near my people and my doggy buddies, and I’m happiest when I’m part of the action… or at least within snuggling distance. My dream home? One with a friendly dog who won’t mind me tagging along like the cute little shadow that I am. I promise to be your loyal sidekick, your comic relief, and your professional cuddle provider. I am currently in Texas. My adoption fee is $195 local and $395 out of state to include transport. If you’re looking for a low-rider lovebug with a big future (literally), I’m your girl. Apply here and let’s start our forever adventure!” https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SGDR/Dog

Please contact Caitlin Finn (caitlin.finn@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.stubby legged cutie ISO fresh start and love! BRATWURST NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name: Bratwurst         Best Guess for Breed: Basset hound and terrier mix  Best Guess for Age: 3 years as of September 2025         SEX: Female   Approximate Weight:  28 lbs   Gets Along With: Other dogs and kids! Bratwurst would do best in a home without cats.   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home.   Check out this video of Bratwurst: https://youtube.com/shorts/4-q1HiNIjig.   Bratwurst is Looking For:   Her forever family! This absurdly cute low-low rider is in her prime as a young adult dog and is eager to explore the world by her humans' side - and to get all those snuggles and cuddles after a long day together. She promises adoring gazes (with or without head tilt), happy little tail wags, and loyal companionship for all her days in exchange. What do you say? Is she the one you see way down there by your side? What My Foster Says About Me:  Bratwurst is the sweetest, most loving, most snuggly girl! Don't let her size fool you, she is an energetic little lady who loves to explore, go on walks, and is doing well learning her leash skills! She has done well with meeting new people, including kids. She already knows 'sit' and has done well with housetraining. She does like the crate but much prefers sleeping in the bed. Bratwurst is super smart and would love a family who can commit to keeping her busy with training. She loves her people and would love to join your family for lots of adventures and cuddles! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
