Story
Meet Myrtle!Myrtle is a very loving girl with a whole lot of spunk packed into her. She still has plenty of zip in her step and enjoys taking in the world around her—especially if it involves a car ride, which she absolutely loves! This sweet girl is great on a leash and enjoys her walks, making her an easy and pleasant companion. Myrtle is also a big fan of treats (who isn’t?), and they’re a great way to win her heart even faster.Myrtle would thrive as the star of the show in her forever home. She’s looking for a home without small dogs or cats, where she can soak up all the love and attention she deserves.fill out application - https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=nh0734&method=online_form_html&formid=17

Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Charlie came home with us from the Douglasville Animal Shelter in spring 2022 and has been a good boy ever since. He’s a beagle/hound mix with a laid-back personality. He has his energetic moments but is just as happy curled up next to you on the couch. He does have some anxiety and tends to be clingy, which honestly just means he loves his person and wants to stay close. He’s been through dog training, so he’s not starting from zero, but he needs someone who’s owned dogs before and knows how to give an anxious pup the patience and consistency he needs to feel secure. If you’re an experienced dog owner with time and space for a loyal, affectionate dog, Charlie would be lucky to find you.

Story
AN ACTIVE & FUN-LOVING GAL:  Approx. 6 years old / Approx. 27 lbs.  Hi, I’m Maybelle!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control when I was very pregnant!  Thankfully, I went into a great foster home and had 10 puppies!  I’ve finished my mommy duties, all my pups have been adopted and now it’s my turn!  I’m excited and hopeful that I’ll find a wonderful family who will call me their own very soon and love me furever!   • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I came in with another dog and have met dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, so if you have a dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I met kids ages 6-14 on a spend-the-night with a volunteer and I was very sweet with them, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.     • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:   I’m an amazingly sweet, lovable girl with an adorable personality and a zest for life that’s hard to miss.  Since weaning my puppies, I seem ready to cut loose and enjoy being a dog again!  I may have been on my own for a while before animal control picked me up, so home life may still be somewhat new to me, but I’m embracing it with enthusiasm.  I’ll likely need my new family to help me learn what’s my toy and what is not.  I love to play, sniff, and explore the world around me and I’m not as vocal as most Beagles.  I get quite energetic and love interaction and fun but after some good exercise, I can decompress and settle down.  I was a perfect angel for my bath - calm, cooperative, and just the sweetest the entire time.  I’m a wonderful girl who would thrive with a family that enjoys playing, exploring, and sharing life’s adventures with me. / Energy level: 6-8, sometimes higher, so I’ll want regular activity/exercise with my new family.     • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have learned the ‘come’ command so far and I look forward to learning a lot with my trainer!  Let's continue my training with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts, though I wouldn’t want to spend a lot of time in a crate in my new home. / I’m having accidents on the shelter schedule – perhaps I just need to go out a bit more than the shelter schedule allows, so I’ll need your help to finish my potty training.     • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love treats, people, and just about everything that makes life fun!  Whether I’m spending time with my family, making new friends, exploring, or enjoying a tasty snack, I approach life with enthusiasm and a happy spirit.  I simply love having fun and making the most of every day! / Not getting enough exercise and interaction would make me unhappy.  Other than that I can’t think of any dislikes, though like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future. I’m a lovable, active and wonderful dog looking for the same in my new family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  June 17, 2026, 8:07 am

Story
All our dogs are spayed/neutered and fully vetted. Senior dogs receive extra bloodwork and we try to do dental cleanings on any dogs that need them. Most of the dogs in our care are crate-trained and cat tested. We test with kids when we can. Our process can seem involved and long - we appreciate your patience. Adopting a dog is not like buying a candy bar in the checkout lane; it should never be a last-minute decision or one that is not fully thought out. ADOPT MEJuniper is a lovable 2 year old beagle-dachshund mix with a sweet disposition and lots of brown and black freckles all over. Though shy when she initially meets someone new, she quickly warms up and is  eager to roll over for belly rubs every chance she gets. On walks, she will keep close to you and follow your lead. At home, she’s happy to curl up in her bed or keep you company. She doesn’t beg, takes treats gently, and enjoys following the lead of her older foster sister. You couldn’t ask for a more perfect pup.”   Juniper needs to be in a quieter home, without young children.  She does have a bit of separation anxiety and does not care to be restricted access.  Crate training is in the works, but would need to be continued upon adoption.  Like what you see? Fill out our online application! We work on a first received, first approved, first adopted basis. We definitely encourage people who are interested in adopting, even if they haven't found the right dog yet, to fill out an application. Our process can take as long as two weeks (we work day jobs!) so having an already approved application speeds things up considerably when you see a dog that catches your eye. Adopting a dog is not like buying a candy bar in the checkout lane; it should never be a last-minute decision or one that is not fully thought out. This adorable little man comes from Newton County. He’s around five years old and 18 pounds. Murphy enjoys the company of other dogs and likes to be held. He gets vocal when he wants to eat or go outside.  Murphy is a strong heartworm positive, and has an enlarged heart. He also has an enlarged prostate which might be caused from a urinary infection. He has a frequent cough and suspected hypertension in his lungs. Poor boy! Hence, Murphy will be with us for a little while as we work to get him healthy. He’ll be available for adoption, hopefully in around 4-5 months after his heartworm treatment. We’ll keep you updated on his progress.     Like what you see? Fill out our online application!
