Milo is such a sweet boy. He is an amazing companion to snuggle with. He loves to take walks and rides in the car with the windows rolled down. Because of his keen sense of smell, he loves to be outdoors. Having the opportunity to be outside often would be a win for him, while he is capable of roaming the house even when no one is there without causing any damage.

Meet Bella! Bella was surrendered to the shelter on 8/30 after her person had to move into assisted living and couldn’t take her along. Her former family did share that Bella is house-trained and good with children. This sweet, friendly girl is understandably confused by the loud, overwhelming shelter and spends her days looking for the family she knows and loves. She sits nicely when asked and is hoping someone will give her the loving home she deserves. Please come meet Bella! Bella is 9 years old and weighs 37 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines, has been spayed and microchipped, and did test negative for heartworms. Please come meet Bella in kennel 315; her ID # is 22204. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Most of the dogs in our care are crate-trained and cat tested. We test with kids when we can. Our process can seem involved and long - we appreciate your patience. Adopting a dog is not like buying a candy bar in the checkout lane; it should never be a last-minute decision or one that is not fully thought out. ADOPT MEJuniper is a lovable 2 year old beagle-dachshund mix with a sweet disposition and lots of brown and black freckles all over. Though shy when she initially meets someone new, she quickly warms up and is  eager to roll over for belly rubs every chance she gets. On walks, she will keep close to you and follow your lead. At home, she’s happy to curl up in her bed or keep you company. She doesn’t beg, takes treats gently, and enjoys following the lead of her older foster sister. You couldn’t ask for a more perfect pup.”   Juniper needs to be in a quieter home, without young children.  She does have a bit of separation anxiety and does not care to be restricted access.  Crate training is in the works, but would need to be continued upon adoption.  Like what you see? Freddie is a goofy, lovable 6-year-old very Beagle boy with all the classic Beagle charm. He adores going for walks and exploring the world with his nose—he’ll happily let you (and the whole neighborhood!) know when he catches an exciting scent. He does pull on leash, but he’s working on his manners and making progress with training. Freddie would thrive in a home with a secure, fenced-in yard where he can sniff, wander, and enjoy the outdoors—one of his favorite things to do when the weather is nice. He’s happiest in a quieter home with moderate activity, where he can relax with his people between adventures. Freddie was returned to us due to some behavior concerns and is not suitable for a home with young children. He’s currently working with a trainer, and he’ll need an adopter who is committed to continuing his training and providing the structure, patience, and consistency he needs. He’s around five years old and 18 pounds. Murphy enjoys the company of other dogs and likes to be held. He gets vocal when he wants to eat or go outside.  Murphy is a strong heartworm positive, and has an enlarged heart. He also has an enlarged prostate which might be caused from a urinary infection. He has a frequent cough and suspected hypertension in his lungs. Poor boy! Hence, Murphy will be with us for a little while as we work to get him healthy. He’ll be available for adoption, hopefully in around 4-5 months after his heartworm treatment. We’ll keep you updated on his progress.     Like what you see? Fill out our online application! Brandy loves Belly rubs.  She is a little finicky with food.  She prefers a little wet with her dry food.  She prefers adults and really bonds with her person.  Older kids would be her preference.  She was adopted in 2023 and returned on 12/05/2025 because she was possessive and protective of the Mom and didn't want her kids hugging her.  They worked with a trainer but we will recommend a different trainer when she is next adopted. ##1698686##
