Story
A SWEET & ADORABLE FELLOW:  Approx. 10 years old / Approx. 26 lbs.   Hi, I’m Boris!  Mostly Mutts rescued me when animal control made the request for help.  I was in rough shape from what appears to be terrible neglect. Though I had a lot going on medically (heartworms, ear infections, fur loss, skin issues, dental care & more), my beautiful spirit has always shined brightly!  Mostly Mutts & my dedicated foster mom have addressed my medical needs & I’m ready to find my furever loving family while finishing up my treatments with them, & to just enjoy life to the fullest!   • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I’ve been a total sweetheart with the 2 dogs in my foster home & have found a playmate in one of them. We share toys & play tug together with a rope toy & just enjoy each other’s company.  If you have a friendly dog at home, let’s meet! / I get along just fine with the kitty in my foster home!  Sometimes we rub noses as a greeting which is adorable. / I haven’t met kids yet, but I’ve liked everyone I’ve met so far.  I don’t think I’d want to live with rambunctious kids, but if you have calm & gentle children or grandchildren, let’s meet!   • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  My foster describes me as ‘very, very sweet’. I have a happy & sunny disposition & I give such a nice greeting to her even if she’s just stepped out for a few minutes.  I enjoy being lifted onto my foster’s lap for a little loving time, but I don’t jump up on furniture myself or nap there.  I don’t seem to know what belongs to you yet as I’ve picked up a few things & chewed on them, so I’ll need a little help in that area.  I am playful & curious & like stimulation since I can’t be as active as I’d like to yet due to the heartworms.  I’d be great companion to ‘grow old with’. Of course I have the Beagle suborn streak too. / My energy level is 4 - 6. It could be a little higher once I’m completely over the heartworms as I’d enjoy longer walks, but just can’t do that yet.     • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know ‘sit’ & do a pretty good, though short, ‘stay’.  I’m working on ‘down’ now. I walk well on my leash too – until a scent catches my attention, then I can be stubborn & in true Beagle fashion I may ‘voice’ myself all the way home - lol. With my strong instincts, I should NEVER be off leash for my safety, & caution must be used around doors, even the car door as I’m always ready to run off & catch a scent! My foster recommends a dog seatbelt or someone holding my leash for rides. / I go easily into my crate & like a cozy bed in it. / I am doing well with my potty manners on a regular schedule (about every 3 hours during the day – no problems at night in my crate).  My foster says some ‘good boys’ help, & I expect a treat after each performance - lol. Due to my ‘Beagley-ness’, I DO occasionally get sidetracked outside (squirrels etc.) so a couple of times I’ve peed outside then pooped inside later, so just watch me closely to be sure I don’t get distracted from my task outside. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I enjoy playing with toys, Nyla bones & a leisurely game of ball.  I also love attention & lots of petting, so I closely follow my foster around the house so as not to miss any of those.  I am a bit of a tripping hazard as I do get underfoot, especially when she’s cooking & out on our walks, so best no one with any mobility challenges. A nice secure fenced yard to exercise my sniffer would be great.  I like a little water added to my kibble & I’m a treat fan! / I HATE going outside in the rain!  I have a rain jacket & umbrella which I don’t mind, but honestly, I require that my foster carries me out if it’s raining & wait VERY patiently while I contemplate going to the potty.  You must be patient!  I’ve been through a lot in my life, so I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, & good medical care. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped & neutered. I wasn't kept on heartworm prevention in my previous home, but I'm doing the slower treatment for that with a specific heartworm monthly treat. My skin & fur loss has improved greatly, so I’m just getting 1 medicated bath weekly which can be done in my new home. I may have some seasonal allergies, so I’m trying Benadryl to help with that. I had a good dental cleaning with 8 extractions. I’m being treated for an anal gland issue and think that will be good to go very soon. MM’s is happy to talk with you about any of the above-listed medical treatments. I am looking for a loving home with a wonderful family for life! My adoption fee is $100.00, & I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  April 18, 2024, 8:00 am

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
A SUPER SWEET & CUDDLY GIRL:  Approx. 8 years old / Approx. 21 lbs.     Hello – I’m Eden!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control after having some very hard luck.  I had been bitten by a snake and was recovering from that. I had skin issues, fur loss, and ear infections all due to neglect. I also had to have the tip of 1 toe amputated due to torn ligaments at the joint, dry eyes, and 2 fatty lipomas removed when I was spayed.  All that took time, but I have been a total trooper while Mosly Mutts and my wonderful foster tended to these needs and now I’m ready to find my new family and continue living the good life that Mostly Mutts has started for me - so exciting!   • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  There are dogs in my foster home, and we don’t really interact much.  I’ve been just fine with them but am not looking for a playmate.  I also met dogs at Mostly Mutts and had the same reaction. So, if you have a dog that sounds like a match for me, let’s meet. / I ignored the cat in the home I visited when first rescued, so if you have a dog-friendly (or dog-tolerant) kitty, let’s meet and see if we can be pals. / I’ve been around a gentle 3- and 14-year-old in my foster home and I do well with them.  I also met nice kids at Mostly Mutts that were around 10 years old, and did well with them, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over or that may fall on me.      • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  My foster describes me as super sweet, fun, friendly, cuddly, and loving!  I really want/need to be with a family member, so I need a work-from-home or stay-at-home family member to be happy!  I’ll be the best company you could ever ask for!  Though I am a beagle mix, I’m pretty quiet, but when I do talk to you (not bark or howl), I make funny little sounds like groans and cries, etc. while looking right at you – it’s like we’re really having a conversation. / My energy level is currently 3-5 but I think it will increase a little now that I’m starting to feel better. I’m having little bursts of energy which are adorable.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m working on ‘wait’ using my name for feeding times and ‘stay’ at doors as I want to go out the door with you. I’m sure you can teach me lots more. / I absolutely HATE being in any type of crate to the point that I’ve hurt myself when in them, so no crates for me! / My potty habits are great in my foster home!  They have a doggie door to a fenced yard, and I go out when I need to.  If the doggie door is locked, I’ll stand by the door for a moment but if no one lets me out I will go in the house.  If you don’t have a doggie door, my foster thinks I’ll do well on a good schedule.  • LIKES/DISLIKES: I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE people and want to be with them all the time!   A true lap dog, I am super happy to be held and to cuddle up with you for a nice nap. I’m pretty much up for whatever you would like to do around the house so I can keep you company and spend time with you.  I’m starting to play with toys now too. / I don’t like being without people, and of course I hate the crate! I’m not a fan of human food which is actually good – but I do like a little American cheese.  Otherwise, I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, good care, and training.  • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I’ve come a long way on my road to recovery and my fur is growing in nicely now.  Mostly Mutts will be happy to go over the above-mentioned medical challenges that I came in with.  I am looking for a wonderful family to love and be loved by for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m in Kennesaw, Ga.  April 18, 2024, 8:00 am

Story
Skips is a five year old beagle with the traditional loud beagle howl. He follows his nose everywhere and so he would be best placed in a house with a yard. He does tend to be fearful and timid, but can be won over with lots of treats. Once you've earned his trust you can look forward to the best of cuddles. We're really looking to place Skips and Marty (the husky in the picture) together in the same home, but if we have to split them up, Skips would be best placed in a home with another smaller dog. It may take time to adjust, so we're looking for something transitional where we don't just drop him off and say goodbye. We truly want him to grow and love his new family. So if it takes a few weeks that's ok! We're also ok with an open adoption! haha Would love to see pics of him from time to time living his best life in his new home. ✔ Housetrained ✔ Knows commands "sit" "come" & "kennel up"

Story
We took him home and have been investing in making sure he’s healthy. Once comfortable, we noticed he has bad separation anxiety, to where he becomes quite destructive. Our home is not even a year new; & our careers cause for us to travel too often for him to be as active as he needs. His fun facts: he will lay next to you when you are crying, he's a very athletic doggie, and all he wants is someone to give him lots of attention. In a new home I want to find: someone who will keep him safe, a place with a fenced in backyard for him to play, and if you have children that’s even better. If interested lmk !
