Meet Milo! This handsome boy was surrendered to the shelter on 7/5 and is ready for a fresh start. His former family shared that he is house-trained, great with children, and friendly with both dogs and cats. Volunteers describe Milo as calm, friendly, and well-mannered. He's quiet in his kennel, sits politely on command, and truly checks all the boxes. All he's missing is a loving forever family to call his own. Milo is approximately 4 years old, and weighs 52 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines and has been neutered. He will be microchipped upon adoption. Unfortunately, Milo did test positive for heartworms, but with proper treatment and care he can go on to live a long and healthy life. Please speak with shelter staff about the option of fostering to adopt while he receives treatment. Milo is waiting patiently in kennel 90; his ID # is 20561. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. We are heartbroken to say this, but due to our recent move from Oregon and our current schedules, we can no longer give Donkey the time and attention he deserves. We are urgently looking for a loving, forever home where he can continue to thrive.Donkey is a 10-month-old Beagle/Cocker Spaniel mix who is incredibly affectionate, goofy, and loves to cuddle. He’s wonderful with our kitten, has the cutest little underbite, and brings so much joy to everyone he meets. He deserves a family that can give him the love, time, and stability he needs. He does have a papilloma (absolutely harmless and goes away within 1-5 months.) It occurs when licking something they shouldn’t be!This is not a decision we ever wanted to make, and we will only consider homes that we know will give him the life he deserves. ADOPT MEJuniper is a lovable 2 year old beagle-dachshund mix with a sweet disposition and lots of brown and black freckles all over. Though shy when she initially meets someone new, she quickly warms up and is eager to roll over for belly rubs every chance she gets. On walks, she will keep close to you and follow your lead. At home, she’s happy to curl up in her bed or keep you company. She doesn’t beg, takes treats gently, and enjoys following the lead of her older foster sister. You couldn’t ask for a more perfect pup.” Juniper needs to be in a quieter home, without young children. She does have a bit of separation anxiety and does not care to be restricted access. He’s around five years old and 18 pounds. Murphy enjoys the company of other dogs and likes to be held. He gets vocal when he wants to eat or go outside. Murphy is a strong heartworm positive, and has an enlarged heart. He also has an enlarged prostate which might be caused from a urinary infection. He has a frequent cough and suspected hypertension in his lungs. Poor boy! Hence, Murphy will be with us for a little while as we work to get him healthy. Freddie is a goofy, lovable 6-year-old very Beagle boy with all the classic Beagle charm. He adores going for walks and exploring the world with his nose—he’ll happily let you (and the whole neighborhood!) know when he catches an exciting scent. He does pull on leash, but he’s working on his manners and making progress with training. Freddie would thrive in a home with a secure, fenced-in yard where he can sniff, wander, and enjoy the outdoors—one of his favorite things to do when the weather is nice. He’s happiest in a quieter home with moderate activity, where he can relax with his people between adventures. Freddie was returned to us due to some behavior concerns and is not suitable for a home with young children. He’s currently working with a trainer, and he’ll need an adopter who is committed to continuing his training and providing the structure, patience, and consistency he needs.
