It just might be Miss Judy.  At just 24 pounds, Judy is small enough to scoop up and sweet enough to steal your whole heart. Everyone who meets her comments on how tiny she is - and what an absolute doll she is. She’s an A+ cuddler, adores other dogs, and is a perfect angel in her crate. When she’s playing with her beagle foster brothers, her silly, funny side shines through. You’d never know she’s around 7 years old! As a retired hunting dog, Judy is still figuring out indoor life, but she’s eager to learn. She’s making great progress with house training and working hard on understanding which things are toys (and which things are not!). Judy is Lyme-positive and currently on medication. Her dream home would include at least one playful dog buddy to romp around with and help her continue building confidence. She hasn’t been tested with kids or cats yet, but we think she’d likely do wonderfully with children. Story
Mae is a sweet older dog who often acts more like a cat than a dog preferring long naps and warm sun beams. Mae is a calm dog who loves to be outside on walks and usually enjoys meeting new people. She will not play with toys unless they dispense food. She also knows a few tricks including rolling over. Generally her days involve lounging around between meals. She is not overly active of her own desire but will play and go on lengthy walks if you decide to. Mae can be timid around other dogs that are larger than her but she does warm up to them in time and will be friendly. She is very easy going with dogs that are smaller than her. She is good with kids and tolerant of some petting. She will seek her own space when her social battery runs out. She finds cats interesting but has never gotten close enough to meet one. Mae is house trained though is prone to accidents when stressed as she does have some separation anxiety. She is crate trained but not a fan of long times in the crate.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.JJ is nicknamed “Big Guy” because he is 5lbs heavier than his brothers. He takes charge, but allows his brothers to get the better of him. A ball of energy looking for the next new thing. He is a loving happy puppy. JJ is not an apartment dog and would do best with a fenced in yard. HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit on top of the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog was spayed/neutered. The $50 deposit will then be returned to the adopter. &#226&#128&#139Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. That being said, Hawkins' personality will come out with patience. If you are looking for a beagle because they are such sweet dogs and are willing to build up his confidence slowly, then take a chance on Hawkins. Lenore has an eye injury - she had surgery to remove her cherry eye, but still has corneal damage to that eye. She is being medicated for that. Lenore will need a patient human to work with her and build up her confidence.
