Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Della is a tall and slim senior hound mix, she actually still feels and acts like a young dog. Della has a beautiful multicolored coat. She gets along very well with other dogs and enjoys playing in the yard in her foster home with a other dogs. She will do best in a home with a fenced yard and someone that enjoys long walks or other outdoors activities. Della is 25 lbs but her body build makes her look bigger than her weight. Della is comfortable in a crate (42in) where she sleeps through the night on her soft bed. The crate is her refuge during the day too, the door is always open for her to walk in for a nap. The foster home can be a noisy place at times since she shares with 6 other dogs of all ages and sizes. Della has a friendly, loving demeanor but to get attention she sometimes jumps up for hugs and may knock small children over. Della is very food motivated which makes training easier, old dogs can definitely learn new tricks! Della is looking for a forever home to spend the rest of her days in. (Della qualifies for our senior for a senior program.) Want a dog to keep you active Della is your girl! Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Tori!  Tori is thought to be a Doxie/Beagle/ Bully mix and weighs about 18 pounds. Tori is a sweet pup and wiggle-butt extraordinaire!  Although shy and skittish in new situations, she is incredibly trusting with those she is comfortable with.  She was very brave for her bath, and, after-the-fact, almost seemed happy to have had one!  Tori enjoys treats and takes them gently.  She has had no issues with the resident dog, so will likely do well with a canine companion after slow and proper introductions.  She forms a strong bond with her ‘people’ and is eager to please.  She is a real ‘Velcro dog’. She quickly learned the crate routine, and happily jumps in it to take a nap.  When no one is looking though, she might sneak onto the couch.  Tori has been quiet in the foster home, but foster mom is sure she has a ‘voice’ and will use it in her own time.  Tori is potty trained and has not had any potty accidents in the house but might submissively pee if scared.  With those she knows, she often flattens herself to the ground or rolls over on her back in a show of submission.  With those she doesn’t know, she keeps her distance.  It takes her a while to overcome her timidity with strangers.  She is learning to keep ‘four-on-the-floor’ and other basic commands.  One thing foster mom did notice is Tori’s fear of vehicles.  Even when coming close to a vehicle, she will try to run away from it.  We are slowing working on building her confidence around vehicles.  In the meantime, foster mom picks her up and puts her in her vehicle when needed.   It is obvious Tori has had many puppies as she has lost some of her 'girly' figure.  No more puppies for this sweetheart!  Tori is spayed and UTD on vaccines.  She will be microchipped before going to her adoptive home.   Whoever adopts this little girl will be a lucky family indeed!  The one requirement for Tori is a securely fenced yard.  Her first instinct is to bolt and run if frightened.  Also, a harness and collar clipped together would be necessary when taking her out.   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Story
Hello there, my name is Daisy. I am a sweet, adorable, and loud Beagle friend, looking for my forever home!! As most Beagles do, I like to serenade people with my wonderful singing (or screaming) voice. Don't worry, this doesn't happen all the time. Just when I get over-stimulated about something or when I'm on alert (like when seeing a DOGGGGGGGGG!!!!). I'm actually quite good with other dog friends, though I will scream at them especially if they come on too strong with me. So maybe a respectful friend that can tolerate my beautiful voice would be ideal. I am your definition of a social butterfly. I like all people really, especially if they give me treats. I'm OBSESSED with food, so I'm learning how to not counter surf or seek it out all the time. This is pretty normal for us Beagles, but it is something I will need work on in the home, so best to keep things out of my reach!! I am also underweight, so that's likely why food is just so enticing for me! It's best I don't live in an apartment, otherwise your neighbours may need ear plugs. I am hoping for an adopter that understands Beagle personalities, or, someone who is active, fun, and will keep me busy and happy!!! I am SOOO much fun, and have such a fun-loving personality. I am sweet as pie, and will make you smile and laugh for days. So what do you say, am I the Beagle of your dreams?? I sure hope so!!

Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. June 18, 2024, 8:30 pm
