Story
Hopper is a 5yr old beagle/hound mix looking for a new home! He is loving, cuddly and playful. He is potty trained and rarely has accidents in the house. He knows basic commands like sit/stay, and he does not have any medical concerns. He is very protective of his owners and whoever he bonds with. He is best suited in a home that already has other dogs so he has more stimulation. He does not do well with children and some adult men. He likes cats but gets playful around them (not aggressive). He is up to date on shots. I am taking a foster youth placement into my home 5/1 and unfortunately the youth cannot be around dogs. I am very sad to part with Hop but also feel as though he would be happier in a home with more stimulation, possibly more people and more pets. He used to be in a home with 2 humans, 2 other dogs, 3 cats and a backyard. Eight months ago I moved into a 1bd apt, just Hopper and I, and he has been way less happy since then. I'd love to see him go to a busier home.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Bullet! This handsome guy is a bundle of energy. He’s a failed hunting dog but he still believes his mission is to try to catch all of the squirrels, and that’s when his beagle howl comes out to shine!  He LOVES his outdoor time, and can spend hours following his nose to smell all there is to smell. He enjoys his leisurely walks so he can focus on the smells, but he has 35 lbs of muscle to use to (try to) follow his nose too.  Bullet is super playful, with puppy tendencies that means he likes to chew his toys. He’s up for a fun game of tug or war or chase!  He doesn’t know his own strength yet though, so while he plays well with kids, I’d recommend they be of school age. Come late night he wants to snuggle, and wants to be your lap dog (until he gets too warm). Treats are his favorite as a beagle too, and since he’s crate trained he very easily enters his crate in exchange for a milkbone, and lays right down.  He’s house trained as well with no accidents/marking since he was fixed.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All animal breeds and ages are a best estimate April 22, 2024, 11:01 am

Kesha is a gorgeous and unique 4 year old Beagle/English Bulldog mix. She came to us as a stray and surprisingly and wasn't reclaimed. She's a sweet and friendly girl who staff has quickly fallen in love with. Since she was a stray we don't know her history. We recommend bringing the entire family to meet and setting up a meet and greet with other dogs before adoption. She can be tested with cats.Adoption Fee: $200, includes spay/neuter, and all veterinary care as needed.If interested in meeting, please stop in during open hours, Tuesday-Saturday 12-5:00 pm. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Irving, one of our newest residents at the Mikey & Me kennels in Chelsea, Mi for Happy Days Rescue. Irving is a very handsome boy, likely a Hound/Beagle mix (?), he’s approx. 2 years old, he weighs about 45 pounds, and he’s a happy and wonderful dog. Irving enjoys meeting new people, taking walks (he walks well on a leash), chasing a ball, and hanging out with his gal pal, Ingrid. Irving came to us (along with Ingrid) when their family said they weren’t able to provide for their safety while living in a busy area. They are both well mannered and seem to enjoy meeting other nice dogs. Irving was given his essential vaccines on 12/27 and he is scheduled for his first Vet appt. in Dexter where he will be tested for Heart Worm disease and implanted with a Microchip for his safety. If you would like to meet Irving, please submit an adoption application at  happydaysdogandcatrescue.org . More photos of Irving will be forthcoming as they become available. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
