Story
Meet Abbie! After doing an amazing job raising her puppies, this sweet mama is officially ready to retire from motherhood and focus on what really matters: treats, adventures, belly rubs, and finding her forever family. Abbie is a 3-4 year-old Beagle mix weighing in at a perfect 22 pound She's the kind of dog who wants to be where her people are; whether that's curled up in your lap, riding shotgun on a car ride, or joining you for a walk around the neighborhood. Speaking of walks, Abbie is a wonderful walking companion, though she would like everyone to know that squirrels and rabbits remain highly suspicious and should be monitored closely! This lovable girl has a playful side and enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring all the sights and smells the world has to offer. While new situations can make her a little hesitant at first, she warms up quickly and is always ready to see what adventure comes next. She also appears to enjoy other dogs with slow, proper introductions. Abbie is both crate and house trained. One of Abbie's hidden talents is being an excellent passenger. She hops into the car, settles into the seat, and patiently waits for the destination, whether it's a trip to the park, a pup cup run, or her future forever home. Abbie is sweet, affectionate, treat-motivated, and ready to trade in diaper duty for a lifetime of love and companionship. If you're looking for a loyal sidekick with a gentle heart, a playful spirit, and just a touch of Beagle curiosity, Abbie may be your perfect match. Abbie is current on her vaccines, microchipped, and spayed. Contact us at adopt@carolinapaws.com for more information or to fill out an application. We only accept Adoption Applications within a certain radius of where our volunteers are based. Currently, we are able to accept applications from Mecklenburg and Union counties (NC), and parts of Cabarrus (NC), Lancaster (SC), and York (SC) counties.

Story
Please help me to rehome our Beaglemix Artemis. She was born in March of 2019 and belonged to our son. She grew up in our loving home and when my son married 3 years ago, he couldn’t take her with him so he became ours. She was raised with 3 other dogs inside the home but in the last two years she has not gotten along with the older female she was raised with so we kept them separated. This past week out of the blue she attacked our other male dog. We can no longer keep her around the others. We tried hormones and separation but these have not worked. She is super sweet and loving to people. Always wants love. She is very energetic and playful but also likes to snuggle. I want to make sure she goes to a great home. She is really a sweetheart and decently obedient trained. She knows the basic commands.

Story
Meet Legba!  Legba is a 7-year-old Beagle/Hound mix with a gentle soul who is hoping his next home will truly be his forever one. After spending his life with a family, Legba was recently surrendered through no fault of his own. Originally, he was gifted to a military veteran to provide companionship and support for PTSD, and he has spent his life doing what he does best—being a loyal, loving friend. Legba has been raised with children and has done well living with other dogs. He is both house trained and crate trained, making him an easy companion to welcome into a new home. With his calm, affectionate nature and years of life experience, he's well past the puppy stage and ready to settle into a family that will appreciate all he has to offer. Like many Beagles and hounds, Legba enjoys using his nose to explore the world, but what he wants most is to be part of a family again. After losing the only home he's ever known, he's looking for someone who will give him the stability, love, and commitment he deserves. If you're searching for a loyal companion with a kind heart and plenty of love to give, Legba may be the perfect addition to your family. Come meet this handsome boy and give him the second chance he's been waiting for. If you are interested in adopting Legba, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.   **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **July 17, 2026, 12:59 pm
