  Viola is a beautiful soul that we think is about 3 year old  and a Beagle mix girl. This black and white beauty with adorable speckled legs and a sweet She only weighs 20 lbs and has the sweetest smile and absolutely loves people. She was found as a stray that was taken to the shelter very scared and almost shutdown while there. Her human mother died and Viola is now 5 years old. Unfortunately we don’t really know her story, but we feel there is some trauma there in her past. It takes her a little bit to get used to people and even longer for dogs. She wants a safe place to observe (wire crate suggested)  till she figures it out. Her foster kept her behind a gate and her bed was her safe place. For a few days she would growl through the gate at the other dogs but after that it was over. We would leave the gate open and she would venture out and if she got nervous she would go back to her safe place. She is never ugly to the other dogs at her foster and  if one of the Chihuahuas was mean to her,  she just ignored her. We have her using puppy pads because there is  no fenced yard. Viola would definetly need a fenced yard so she can safely explore and have potty breaks. The outdoors makes her nervous still. Perfect for a quiet home looking for a sweet, low-key companion. Amelia—affectionately known as Topsey—is a 10-year-old, 33-pound Beagle, possibly with Basset mixed in. She has clearly been well loved and well cared for by her previous family, but due to their health issues, Amelia is now searching for a new place to call home. Amelia would thrive in a calm, quiet household where she can enjoy life at her own pace and embrace her inner Beagle. She is house trained, though she is no longer accustomed to being crated and would prefer a home where crating is not required. She is doing well with other dogs and enjoys their company, but Amelia cannot live with cats. If you’re looking for a gentle, easygoing senior who will appreciate a peaceful routine, comfortable naps, and time with her people, Amelia (Topsey) may be the perfect addition to your home. If you are interested in adopting Amelia, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.     **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. Lacey is a sweet, female, beagle mix weighing in at 48 lbs.  She was surrendered by the owner when we found out she was heartworm positive.  She is 5 years old and up to date on shots/vaccines, spayed, and microchipped.  We have started her on medication to prepare her for her heartworm injections in about 30 days.  PINC pays for these treatments.  We are looking for an adopter that has experience with heartworm treatments. Lacey is sweet, laid back, loves to be with her person, and loves other dogs.  We follow the American Heartworm Society's heartworm treatment plan and heartworm treatments are administered at Spay Neuter Clinic of the Carolinas.  We will require a fenced-in backyard for Lacey.  www.pincdogrescue.org/adopt is where you can submit an adoption application and see our adoption process. ##1101372##

Meet Mozzie! Mozzie is approximately 4 years old and was such a joy to foster! He’s even-keeled and easygoing, walks well in a harness, and is working on not saying hi to every passerby (though he’s friendly and gentle when invited!). He loves a good nap but gets just as excited for long walks and playtime. Mozzie does great in his crate and isn’t destructive outside of it. He’s not big on toys, but anything edible?
