Story
Max is a 10-month-old, 31-pound beautiful and strong Terrier/Pit mix. He is a very energetic, happy-go-lucky, determined, spirited, expressive, and playful boy that loves to play and cuddle.  Max is house trained, leash trained, and crate trained.  Max is still very much a puppy and needs love, patience, and the right person/family. He needs people who understand his breed and want a dog like him. Max knows some commands such as sit, lay down, and stay. He is extremely treat motivated and gentle while receiving his treats. Max was abandoned by his original owner and picked up as a stray. He spent six weeks in a shelter and has been in his foster home for three months. When he arrived at his foster home, he was very timid and fearful of loud noises such as sirens, other dogs barking, and even cars. Max is a work in progress. Some days he makes great progress some other days he reverts. Max has been socializing a lot in the last month. He goes to doggy daycare and does well with bigger dogs. He is very much liked by the doggy daycare staff.  Max ideal home is a home where he will be loved and understood. With a person/family that wants to invest time/energy into his training. His energy requires him to have a large amount of space (a small apartment will not be ideal). Max has a strong prey drive if he sees or smells something peculiar to him, he will get distracted quickly. With that said, Max loves to chase small animals. On the other hand, he is also very loyal, protective and a reliable companion for those looking for a long-term relationship with their dog. Max is very intelligent. He can easily read its owner’s behavior and may choose to deny commands. A home with a strong Alpha human will probably be best. Max will do best in a home with no small children and only larger dogs as pets. He has a beautiful soft short coat, and his grooming requirements are not extensive. Max is not the kind of dog you can leave outside by himself. He will let you know he wants you outside with him to play. Max is very friendly with most humans but not always with other dogs. Familiarity with his breed is extremely important.  If you think Max sounds like the perfect addition to your family, please complete an adoption application at lastdaydogs.comJune 1, 2023, 11:44 am

Story
Darcia is 5 year old Beagle that weights about 20 pounds. She LOVES to go on long walks and play fetch in the backyard. After a long walk, Darcia can be found snuggling on the couch or lounging in the sun. Darcia is full of love and will snuggle with her people all day long.  She is very sweet with the other dogs in her foster home, but can get annoyed with high energy dogs. She is crate trained, house trained, and understands basic commands.  Darcia would make a wonderful addition to any family! If you are interested in adopting Darcia, please submit an inquiry directly with Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. ***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. Story
Hi I'm Lyra! I am 4 years old and looking for my forever home and family. I weigh 25lbs. No one is sure what breed I am. The shelter that found me labeled me as a beagle mix, but I have big ears that move when I'm excited and I have little legs that make me low to the ground. I love to play with toys and snuggle. I would make a great lap pet and will follow you wherever you go. I ride very well in the car and I'm crate and house trained. I know sit and I walk well on a leash. With some tasty treats, I could probably learn more tricks. I live with two cats and two dogs and I get along great with them, I never chase the cats and respect their space. I've been at adoption events with dogs of all sizes and do fine with all of them, I've never met a stranger.  If you are interested in adopting Lyra please submit an inquiry directly with Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. ***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. Story
Are you a lady who lives alone or maybe it is just you and your dog who would love to have a sister dog?  Our girl Sister Sybil,  loves to play and buddy up with other dogs.  She also would make a great guard dog for a lady who may live alone.  Sybil is not a barker unless an unfamiliar person shows up at your door and she is ready to warn you.  She hides from children, not aggressive to them at all, just unsure of children, so she avoids and hides from them.  She is a sweet baby girl who loves to cuddle, give kisses, run after a ball and just be close to her person.  She is house trained but will need a fenced yard when let out to potty.   She doesn’t have recall to just come back in. Our sweet Sister Sybil might be shy at first but she is submissive being a beagle/bulldog breed with brindle leg stockings that are beautiful. She is one and a half year old weighing around 35 pounds. When she knows that you love her and she understands that you just want to be kind to her she will be all about you. She has a unique little underbite that gives her a special smile and She has gold splashes on her feet, legs and undercoat as though she was splashed with God’s special paint brush. Sister Sybil is a diamond with a wonderful soul and if you feel you have a home for her,  please do not hesitate to inquire with us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 1, 2023, 10:46 pm

Story
Meet our handsome Beagle boy named Jackson! This full of life young 2-year-old is 30 pounds and full of curiosity and the desire to investigate everything in the backyard with that Beagle nose of his. Jackson has blossomed into such a wonderful boy that loves people and adores playing with the other dogs. He thoroughly enjoys his foster mom's dogs and really needs another doggie playmate to help him stay busy and entertained in a fenced backyard. He will potty outside when taken outside, and he uses pee pads inside. He could easily transition to going only outside with praise and treats. He is a smart dog. Jackson wants to be with his people or another dog --- he doesn't want to be left totally alone.  He regularly comes up to us now for belly rubs and petting.  He is a sweet dog who is wonderful with our 23-month-old granddaughter.  He needs a fenced yard as most beagles will follow their noses anywhere. Jackson is the whole package: handsome, playful, affectionate. Could he be THE ONE for you?  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at  ccrnewengland@gmail.com  June 1, 2023, 10:46 pm
