Story
Sandy is a 7 year old beagle mix that I adopted in 2020. She’s a wonderful house dog and companion. She knows basic commands, does well left alone for several hours but she does not take well to a crate. While she’s come a very long way since she was first rescued off the streets, she still needs a steady routine and takes anti anxiety meds daily. She’s the perfect dog for someone who would love a snuggle buddy. She is reactive to most other dogs during walks but she does know dogs she plays well with. We had kittens a few years ago that she got along with. She does well on a leash, in the car and at the vet outside of running into other dogs.I am rehoming her because I have grand children that now live in my home with special needs and a dog in the home is not working. Sandy would be happier attached to someone’s hip like she used to be to mine.

Story
Mr. Pickles was surrendered to us after his owner could no longer care for him. He is unsure of the shelter, so he is sometimes scared of sudden movements and loud noises. After he is comfortable, he will approach for pets. He seems like a couch potato that is content to lay in bed or in your lap. Can’t go wrong with a love bug! He is quiet and well-behaved. He is house-trained and doesn’t seem bothered by the other dogs, though we are unsure about cats. Meet-and-greats are recommended. Mr. Pickles would love a calm and quiet home. He needs an owner that will help him on his weight loss journey. He is currently around 47lbs and needs to lose 15-20lbs more. Due to his weight and age, a home without stairs may be best. He is new to the shelter, so we are still getting to know him! After he gets used to the environment, we hope he will start to come out of his shell.

Story
Meet Violet Violet is a 4-month-old Beagle/Dachshund mix weighing about 12 pounds—and she’s as sweet as they come. She may be a little shy when you first meet her, but give her a little time and she’ll quickly decide you’re her person. Once she feels safe, Violet just wants to be close—whether that’s following you around or curling up beside you for some quiet snuggles. Violet gets along well with other dogs, though her playful puppy energy can sometimes be a bit much for more laid-back pups. She rides great in the car, sleeps through the night in her crate, and is making good progress with house training and leash walking. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving pup who will blossom into a devoted companion, Violet is ready to steal your heart.   Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.   We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. ##2694246##

Story
Meet Mila! Mila is a 2-year-old, ~25 lb beagle mix who came to PAR as an owner surrender with her two puppies. She is a shy, sensitive girl who takes time to warm up and will need a patient adopter willing to let her move at her own pace. Once she feels safe, Mila’s gentle and curious personality starts to shine. Her favorite place is outside soaking up the sunshine, and inside she enjoys cozy naps on a soft blanket and a good chew bone. She’s also a smart little observer—she’s already learned to use the doggie door just by watching the other dogs! Mila would do best in a calm home where she can continue to build confidence and feel secure. She’s a sweet soul who just needs a little time and a lot of love to become someone’s perfect companion.
