Story
Meet Mozzie! Mozzie is approximately 4 years old and was such a joy to foster! He’s even-keeled and easygoing, walks well in a harness, and is working on not saying hi to every passerby (though he’s friendly and gentle when invited!). He loves a good nap but gets just as excited for long walks and playtime. Mozzie does great in his crate and isn’t destructive outside of it. He’s not big on toys, but anything edible? Yes please - bully sticks are his favorite! Whoever adopts Mozzie will gain a loyal friend for life! Breed, age, and size are not guaranteed. Apply to adopt Mozzie at BilliesBuddies.org/adopt

Story
I’m Nellie, a beautiful tri-color beagle looking for the beagle-lovers out there!I came to the Humane Society of York County when a kind person found me as a stray, emaciated and freezing. I’m a medium-size young girl, about 20-25 pounds, and my estimated birth date is December 2024.I’m getting much-needed TLC with a foster family, and they say I’m going to be a wonderful pet in my forever home. I’m doing well with my house-training and do great on my walks. I get along well with the cats in my foster home (maybe I give a little chase if they run!) and 3 other dogs.I’m proving to be an affectionate, sweet pup and my foster family says I’m a smart girl.Beagle people know that we are wonderful, friendly family pets!If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Please refer to our website for adoption requirements: https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/adopt/adoption-process.htmlThank you for your support.

Story
Viola is a beautiful soul that we think is about 3 year old  and a Beagle mix girl. This black and white beauty with adorable speckled legs and a sweet She only weighs 20 lbs and has the sweetest smile and absolutely loves people. She was found as a stray that was taken to the shelter very scared and almost shutdown while there. Her human mother died and Viola is now 5 years old. Unfortunately we don’t really know her story, but we feel there is some trauma there in her past. It takes her a little bit to get used to people and even longer for dogs. She wants a safe place to observe (wire crate suggested)  till she figures it out. Her foster kept her behind a gate and her bed was her safe place. For a few days she would growl through the gate at the other dogs but after that it was over. We would leave the gate open and she would venture out and if she got nervous she would go back to her safe place. She is never ugly to the other dogs at her foster and  if one of the Chihuahuas was mean to her,  she just ignored her. We have her using puppy pads because there is  no fenced yard. Viola would definetly need a fenced yard so she can safely explore and have potty breaks. The outdoors makes her nervous still. She loves her people immensely and adores  kids but older ones are best.  If you want to help and REALLY rescue a dog them Viola would be forever indebted to you.    If you are interested please email at ccrtennessee@gmail.com    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 29, 2025, 1:51 pm
