After spending his life with a family, Legba was recently surrendered through no fault of his own. Originally, he was gifted to a military veteran to provide companionship and support for PTSD, and he has spent his life doing what he does best—being a loyal, loving friend. Legba has been raised with children and has done well living with other dogs. He is both house trained and crate trained, making him an easy companion to welcome into a new home. While he's well past the puppy stage, don't let his age fool you—Legba is still a very sweet, active boy who enjoys getting out, exploring, and spending time with his people. Like many Beagles and hounds, Legba loves following his nose, and he's looking for a family that will include him in their adventures. He is also beginning a healthy weight-loss journey and would benefit from losing at least 10 pounds, if not more. A family committed to regular walks, exercise, and appropriate portions will help him reach a healthier weight so he can enjoy many happy years ahead. After losing the only home he's ever known, what Legba wants most is to be part of a family again. He's looking for someone who will give him the stability, love, and commitment he deserves. The vet expects Aurora to be around 35-45 pounds like her mom. She is very playful and does well with the foster's dogs and children! She sleeps through the night in her crate and can't wait to join her forever family.

I was pretty shut down when I arrived at HSYC and was hesitant when meeting new people. But lots of TLC and humans who believed in me made all the difference, and I’ve proven to be a serious love bug.I do great on leash with my daily walks, and I have nothing but love for the staff and volunteers at HSYC who love me back.I’m still a youngster with all of my life and love ahead of me. I’m a medium-size guy, about 35-40 pounds, and my estimated birth date is March 2025. I would do great in a single-person home, but it’s not a requirement.
