Story
Dog's Name: Daffodil Gender: Female Current Age: 3 years Current Weight: 42 lbs Breed: Beagle Mix Energy Level: Medium Dog Friendly: Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog. Cat Friendly: Yes Kids: Unknown Apartment Friendly: Yes Fence Requirements: Physical fence preferred but not required with regular walks/exercise Crate Trained: Yes Potty Trained: Yes Ideal Home / Adopter: Daffodil would fit well into any home! She is housebroken, crate trained, good with other dogs, good with cats, playful, and incredibly sweet. The biggest need she has from an adopter is someone who is willing to patiently work with her on using her "listening ears" -- in typical hound fashion, she doesn't always listen the first (or second time around). That being said, she is a really sweet girl who seems to want to do good by her people. Her foster calls her wormy girl because of how she will wriggle around to be near you! She is so gentle and cuddly. Likes: She loves to play tug with people or other pups, she loves a good game of "bitey-face" with other dogs and wrestling with them is also a huge fave of hers. She loves her people and if she could share your wardrobe with you (specifically that outfit you have on right now, can she get in there with you?) she would. She craves love and affection and is the sweetest little thing. Dislikes: She can sometimes be a little extra nervous initially in new situations but does warm up quickly. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, deworming, and the dog will be current on flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. ##2824367##

Story
Dog's Name: August Gender: Male Current Age: 1-2 years Current Weight: 20 lbs Breed: Beagle Energy Level: Medium-High Dog Friendly: Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog. August has liked all the dogs he has met so far. He has two foster sisters that are 50 lbs and 55 lbs and regularly plays with a male that is 65 lbs. He walks well on a leash and has not been reactive to other dogs while walking. Cat Friendly: Unknown Kids: Yes to kids 8 years old or older (can be a little mouthy still while playing) Apartment Friendly: Unknown Fence Requirements: Physical fence preferred but not required with regular walks/exercise Crate Trained: Yes for short periods of time Potty Trained: Not fully potty trained, working on it. August is 90% potty trained. He knows that he should be taking care of his business outside but has occasionally sneaked off and gone in the house. Ideal Home / Adopter: August is full of energy and love and would do best with someone that wants to include him in their daily activities. He would enjoy having a dog to play with but is also independent and would be ok as a solo dog. Likes: August loves to roam the yard and follow whatever scents he can find. He also likes his stuffies and is often seen sneaking one outside. After he's had a chance to explore, he loves a soft couch and blanket to curl up on for a nap. Dislikes: August has great ears and when any door or gate is even cracked open, he wants to know why and what's going on. He is always looking to explore and his adopter will need to be extra cautious when opening doors so that he doesn't sneak out!  August sleeps in a crate without complaint for 9-10 hours every night and isn't bothered when the resident dogs or human siblings come and go while he is crated. He is crated when his foster family is gone more than a couple hours and does fine, but they've had no issues with him when he is left uncrated. August is a tiny little guy with big dog energy. He loves to play and explore but also loves to cuddle and is happy to be picked up and carried around the house. He will play fetch with his stuffed animals and has recently taken up chewing dog bones. He has a cute beagle howl but is not especially loud for a beagle. All adoption fees include spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea prevention, and current heartworm prevention. Dogs over six months of age are heartworm tested prior to adoption. If you're interested in adopting, please complete an application at rescuedohio.org. Once approved, a meet-and-greet can be scheduled. ##2824371##

Story
My father passed away a few months ago and I’m looking to find an amazing home for his dog. His name is Raleigh, he will be 5 in June! He is a beagle/hound mixed cutie and about 60lbs. (Yes I LOVE this dog and would take him if I physically could ❤️). He has medical needs (epilepsy) that is well controlled with meds (no seizures since July 2025)… but does require someone that’s available to administer meds twice a day. He’s amazing with other dogs, loves to cuddle, and clings to his people. TBD on cats, I don’t know if he’s been test but he’s submissive enough my guess would be he would do great.

Story
Pretty PennyFemaleAge: 2-3 years oldWeight: 25 lbsBreed: Beagle Mix Hi, I’m Pretty Penny! And yes, I really am as cute as my name sounds. I’m a sweet, curious girl who has been getting braver by the day. I can be a little cautious with new people while I decide whether you’re trustworthy, but once you’re in my circle, my silly side comes out! I love having my big velvety ears rubbed, curling up right beside my person for a nap, and being wherever my favorite humans are. One of my absolute favorite things? Other dogs! I love having canine friends and would do incredibly well with another dog who can help me continue building confidence. Rowdy dogs don’t bother me much either — I’m usually just happy to be included in the fun. I’m crate trained, so very close to being potty trained, and an excellent car rider. I’m also pretty easygoing when it comes to exercise. Give me a few morning zoomies to let my beagle nose investigate ALL the smells and I’ll be more than ready for a nap. Speaking of that nose… I’m an enthusiastic explorer! Open trash cans may occasionally contain treasures I simply cannot resist investigating. I’m not much of a barker unless something startles me, and I’m currently working with a trainer to continue building my confidence around unfamiliar people. I’m doing really well and everyone is so proud of how far I’ve come. I haven’t lived with cats or children yet. Because sudden movements and loud noises can still startle me, I’d be happiest in a home without young children. Cats are unknown. I did test positive for Lyme disease, but I’m currently healthy, have shown no symptoms, and my recent kidney testing was normal. My rescue will be happy to discuss my medical history with my adopter. My perfect family will be patient, loving, and willing to let me build trust at my own pace. In return, you’ll get a sweet little shadow, a champion napper, an adventurous nose, some spectacular ears, and one seriously lovable girl. I’ve already come so far — I just need my forever family so I can keep discovering how wonderful life can be. I really am a heartbreaker. Interested in meeting Pretty Penny? Apply at www.causeforcanines.org. Adoption fee: $350 Must be an Ohio resident and 23 or older. Children in the home must be age 5 or older. ##2726823##
