Story
Pongo is being fostered in Ringwood IL Meet Pongo!  He is a black tri with a tail, Australian Shepherd Border Collie mix.  His momma was in rescue with her litter of pups and is a 35lb. black tri Aussie.  Daddy was a Border Collie that was 40-45lbs.  Pongo's date of birth is 2/11/2025 so at 11 months old, he is still learning about the world and would LOVE a positive other doggie role model in his forever home and a mom or dad that would be willing to keep socializing him with new things.  Pongo doesn't immediately trust everyone he meets and is a bit on the cautious side because he lacked this socialization as a youngster, while he greets well, his trust is earned quickly through food and toys.  Once he feels safe, he is a great boy! Pongo has more Border Collie traits than Aussie trait in his behavior and demeanor.   Pongo is sweet as pie, curious, loves snuggles and is super smart!  He loves to love and he loves to learn.  He already knows, sit, down, go in (for his crate) come, wait, he waits at the door to be released with an OK, he is just a quick learner and so eager to please his human. Pongo is a sweet and sensitive boy that will need a forever home that is patient, will use all positive reinforcement with him, be breed savvy and be a calm leader for him.  Once given the time to trust, he is a great boy!  If you have never had an Australian Shepherd or a Border Collie, we highly recommend doing some research before thinking this breed is for you.  While they are absolutely adorable, they will need to work and have jobs or they can become destructive when bored and display some undesirable behaviors. Pongo  is going to need a home that will continue his socialization with the world around him.  Without proper positive continued socialization Aussies can become guard dogs and a little insecure (Border Collies) about the world around them.  We recommend continued positive socialization throughout their entire lives!  Pongo is being fostered with other dogs, loves to run, play and chase.  He just started learning fetch with a ball and a frisbee and picked it up in NO time.  He LOVES to play fetch and frisbee!!!!  He is both food and toy motivated, eager to please and just a total goofball. Pongo and his exuberance need older children in the home; we recommend children over 14.  Pongo is potty trained and crate trained, a little overexcited on leash at the beginning of the walk, but settles in nicely once you get going.  He LOVES to sniff on walks!!!!! He is also a little mouthy because he is still so young, but we are working on that in foster care.  He rides very well in the car.  He would LOVE a fenced yard to run and play in, but as long as he has an outlet for his energy like classes, running, etc, he would be ok without a fence, but DAILY mental and physical exercise is a MUST for this youngster! He will need a MINIMUM of 2-3 hours of exercise throughout the day.  He is currently enrolled in tricks class at WAG: WI- IL Agility Group in Spring Grove IL to work on some puppy impulse control and self confidence.  Pongo is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, is microchipped, negative for all tick borne diseases, dewormed and on monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworm.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org. NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2308420##

Story
Meet Jillian! This charming blue merle girl will melt your heart with her bubbly personality and beauty! Jillian loves meeting new people and treats every person as if they were her long lost friend. She loves following her foster family around the house, snuggling with them, or napping at their feet. Outdoors, she enjoys playing tag with her male BC foster brother, but she does not like to interact with the foster family's female dog, so she would be best in a house as an only dog or with a male. Jillian knows basic commands such as sit, down, and shake, and she is learning to be crate trained. She is very food motivated and loves getting her reward treats! Jillian does well on leash when heeling and is enjoying her daily trail adventures with her foster family. She can pull when excited by other dogs or prey animals, and her foster family is working on this through recall practice with treats. She has a strong prey drive and some herding tendencies, so she will do best in a home with no small children or cats. Jillian is current on vaccinations and is spayed. Keep an eye out for updates as her foster home gets to know more about her! Location: Madison Area Please Visit Jillian and her friends on our website https://www.midwestbordercollierescue.org/alldogs

Story
I am Molly. I came into the MWBCR 1/17 after being found down south roaming the great outdoors. I am a shy and nervous girl but once we get to know each other I open up and bond quickly with my person. I do bark at noises that startle me and when people come home until I know everything is okay. In true Border Collie fashion I am eager to please and learn the life of a dog. Toys are something I am unfamiliar with, my foster mom is working on enrichment activities to introduce toys and balls. I am very treat motivated though and have learned some basic commands already such as sit, down, paw and sit pretty! In my day to day I am very happy to be at your feet, relaxing and love to run and play in the back yard. I don't understand how to fetch a ball or what you are supposed to do with that - my foster mom keeps throwing it but I don't understand the excitement in running after it. I am doing quite well potty training and am already crate trained, I enjoy my crate and stay quiet until you are ready to start the day! Molly is very nervous around strangers, a bit more timid with men and men with hats on. She will bark and cower until she knows that she is safe and seeks confirmation from her person (AKA Foster mom) that everything is okay, once she does she will relax. Her ideal home is quietand with someone who can help Molly build her confidence, independence and learn that playing is in fact fun! Location: Waukesha, Wisconsin Contact: team@midwestbordercollierescue.org Please Visit Molly and her friends on our website https://www.midwestbordercollierescue.org/alldogs

Story
Wynter (DOB 12/7/24) is just as beautiful and gentle as her name suggests — sweet, playful, and friendly with everyone she meets. She’s the kind of pup who’s always up for a game of fetch in the yard or a cozy snuggle on the couch. 💙 She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would love a playful canine companion to share her adventures with! Because Wynter can be a little sensitive to noise and commotion, she’s looking for a calmer home with kids 12+ and a secure fenced yard where she can run, explore, and feel safe while being her playful self. Wynter isn’t just another rescue dog — she’s truly something special. With her gentle spirit and big heart, she’s patiently waiting for the family who will love her forever. 🐾 ✨ If you’re searching for a loyal, kind, and fun-loving best friend… Wynter might be your perfect match. 💙 Could Wynter be the missing piece of your family? Fill out an application on our website https://www.tailsoftheforgottenpaws.org/ Wynter was born at our rescue and has only known a life where she is safe, cared for, and loved. However, this girl has never known the comforts of a home! We would love to see Wynter find a foster home, to help her transition into her happily ever after! (And if that foster turns into forever we’d love that for her too!). If you’ve ever thought about fostering, please reach out to our rescue! Wynter has committed to bring endless cuddles, and laughter, can you provide the love? We’ll take care of the rest!

Brady is a handsome Border Collie/American Staffordshire mix who would love to find his forever home! He is a puppy who deserves the chance to grow up in a loving home.
