Who needs some more cuddles 🤗 in their life? Can you ever really get enough? If you’re looking for a companion to shower you with affection and adore your every move, I’d like to introduce you to Chowder. Chowder is 4 months old and weighs in at about 18lbs. He resembles a Collie Mix and is currently hanging out with his foster family in Salem, WI.In foster he is pulling out all the stops on his training. 🎓🍎✏️ He is an “A” student so far. He’s leash trained and walks right by your side. He’s crate trained, sleeping in there overnight. 💤 He’s making progress on potty training, and so far is doing great with pee pads. He’s a really smart boy who is learning new things every day, and already understands what “No” means. Chowder loves other dogs 🐕🐩 and is very kid friendly. He loves his human foster brother. 👲 He hasn’t met cats, yet so is still undecided on them. This fluffy boy loves to be held and cuddled. He can get comfortable on any dog bed or crate but would really love to be cuddled up with his people. He’s a sweetheart. He might need a minute when he first meets you, but it doesn’t take long until he’s determined you are due for a kissing attack. Playing, cuddling and giving kisses 😘 are this little guy’s favorite pastimes. Chowder is up to date on all of his age appropriate shots, 💉 microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $500. If you are looking for a pal that is a quick learner and could use some more love 💋 and affection in your life, please apply for him today! www.biggiepawsrescue.orgDATCP # 494550

Story
Are you looking for a little more fun in your life? Want a spunky best friend to help you jump into every day full of joy? 😃 If so, have I got a new best friend for you. Meet Panini! Unlike her name, this gal is anything but hard and crusty. 🥖 She is definitely soft and loveable. 💗 She is 4 months old and weighs in at about 14lbs. She resembles a Collie Mix and is currently hanging out with her foster family in Salem, WI.In foster she is hard at work on all of the basics. She’s already crate trained, good on a leash - learning not to pull and she’s working hard on her potty training. She is doing well right now with pee pads and is working on learning to go outside. She is a really smart girl and knows “no” ❌ already. She will also do anything for food, so should learn things quickly with treat training. 😋Panini loves other dogs 🐕🐩 and is very kid friendly. She absolutely loves her human foster brother. 👲 She hasn’t been around cats yet, so she’s not sure how she feels about them. She is happy to cuddle up on any dog bed, and can also sleep 💤 in her crate overnight - if there is no room in your bed 🛌 …but if there is, she’d love to cuddle up next to you for the night. She’s a loving ball of fluff, who thoroughly enjoys full body massage scratches. She loves to be the center of attention 😍 and is not a shy girl at all. She loves to jump in and play with the other dogs and has no fear of throwing herself all into whatever activity is going on. This vivacious girl is sure to become the center of your universe if you let her. 💞Panini is up to date on all of her age appropriate shots, 💉 microchipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500. If you could use some more love, entertainment, and spirit in your life, please apply for her today! www.biggiepawsrescue.orgDATCP # 494550

Story
Layla is 36 lbs and 5-6 years old and also high energy! She loves to chase balls, but needs a few lessons on retrieving. She'll nose you to get you off the couch to play, and will bark at you until you pick up a ball and throw it. This girl is also a fan of belly rubs, which she will reward with kisses. She has a herding instinct, which has mellowed a bit in the past couple of months. She also will need a home without children, cats and small critters. She needs a bit of time to get to know new people and dogs, and we are working with our vet on this. Layla is spayed and fully vaccinated. She will need a fenced yard and an experienced handler with a strong understanding of the breed and a willingness to provide lots of exercise and tennis balls. Story
Laika is 36 lbs and 3-4 years old. This sweet girl loves chasing and often retrieving balls in the house and outdoors. She loves to sniff around off-leash in a fenced back yard. Turn on your garden sprinkler and she will be entertained and exercised. Laika initiates belly runs and gives kisses to her foster mom as a thank you. Laika is more dominant than Layla and has a strong herding drive, so we recommend a home with no children, cats or small critters. She's a little nervous meeting new people and dogs, which we are working on. Laika is spayed and fully vaccinated. She will need a fenced yard and an experienced handler with a strong understanding of the breed and a willingness to provide lots of exercise and tennis balls. Story
About Me: Name: Nubbins, Newt, Niblet Breed (or best guess): Border Collie/Farm Dog type Approximate Age: 4-5 months Gender: Male Approximate Weight: around 20 lb (10/1/24) Adoption Fee: $500 each Requirements: Loving and patient family Why In Rescue: Owner/farm breeder surrender Profile:  These three brothers were surrendered by an Amish farmer when they couldn't find homes for them after their farm dog had a litter of pups.  They were shy a first but are becoming more social all the time.  They have never lived in a home, they came from the farm to the shelter, so will need time and patience as they learn about housetraining, walking on a leash, and all the other things all pups need to learn.  All the adult dogs on the farm were sweet and social and these babies are ready to break out of the shelter to show how great they are too!  They have been neutered, microchipped, started on their Distemper/Parvo vaccines, Rabies vaccinated, and started on dewormer as well as heartworm/flea/tick preventative.  Apply for them now and come pick your favorite! We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If considering adopting a former breeding dog, the following article is good to read to help you understand the special needs these dogs may have.  http://nowisconsinpuppymills.com/mill-survivors.html If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $75 (up to $230 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $75 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS November 5, 2024, 8:05 pm
