Story
“You can’t resist reading Pointer’s profile  because he is so darn cute, but Pointer isn’t for everyone. Pointer is a Blue Heeler mix, weighing in at less than 30 lbs. Just like bigger herding dogs, Pointer likes to chase, herd, nip heels and is very strong-willed. Pointer needs lots of exercise and must have mental stimulation throughout the day. He enjoys learning commands and working on his obedience commands and would make an excellent agility, nose work, scent work or other sport participant. Pointer is not a couch potato and when left to entertain himself, he can get into trouble. Pointer needs a person who is experienced with herding breeds or dogs who are competitive in sports and are not put off by his strong personality.  With the right person, Pointer can be the ultimate friend!  I would not be a candidate for an apartment, condo/townhome or a home without a fence. If interested in giving me a forever home please complete an application at www.safeanimalhaven.com Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler Characteristics Standing between 17 to 20 inches at the shoulder, the Australian Cattle Dog is a sturdy, hard-muscled herder of strength and agility. The ACD is born with a white coat that turns blue-gray or red. Both coat varieties feature distinctive mottling or specking patterns. ACDs have immense work drive and excel at hunting, chasing, and, of course, moving livestock. Their boundless energy and supple gait make them excellent running partners.ACDs are true-blue loyal, famously smart, ever alert, and wary of strangers. If an ACD isn’t challenged, he easily becomes bored and gets into mischief. It is recommended that ACD owners participate with their dog in some work, sport, or regular exercise to keep him mentally and physically fit.July 14, 2024, 12:16 am

Story
Meet Rolland aka Rollie! This handsome heeler mix is just over 1 year old and is the sweetest boy ever. He originally came from Lancaster Animal Shelter where his owners surrendered him. He was an outdoor dog who truly wanted to be an indoor dog. He is a typical herding dog with energy for days and always looking for an adventure. He is still very young and can be a little mouthy at times, so we are recommending kids 10 and up. He has been exposed to cats and wasn’t overly interested in them more in their food and toys! Rollie is also picking up potty training very quickly and is already crate trained. His foster parents are working on basic obedience with him and he is quickly picking it up, but still gets excited and will jump on you. He enjoys going on walks (or runs if you can keep up) and really enjoys playing with other dogs. He would do great in a home with a dog who can match his energy. He can resource guard his toys sometimes, but is easily corrected and has been doing less with correction. Rolland is already neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on all his vaccines. Story
Tony was put out with the trash at a local trash dump with his sister. They spent a few weeks avoiding capture before we were able to secure them. At first Tony is a little more reserved but he warms up quickly and becomes super affectionate! Tony has been exposed to dogs of all sizes, cats and even kids and he has done well with all. We take our best guess with breed makeup but there is truly no telling what his mix is. We anticipate he will be no more than 60 lbs full grown. Tony is currently 5 months old and doing well with crate and potty training. ** Tony up to date on all of his vaccines. Tony cannot be altered until 6 months of age and per our adoption agreement the adopter agrees to have this completed and provide proof to rescue.

Story
Critter Cavalry Rescue is trying to help several dogs like Lyla out of a small rural shelter that is cramped and hard on the spirit of the kind of dog like Lyla.  She came to the shelter as an owner surrender forced by the animal control of the shelter.   She and her sister were being crated 24.7 just about and this was negligent and cruel.  She has been in this little shelter for almost 3 months now and her Blue Heeler spirit is just being stifled to get out and have some time to roam a yard, go for a fun run of fetch the ball or just be sleeping on a soft cozy dog bed at your feet.  It is just hard on the spirit when these dogs are stashed away and unnoticed and very little attention except to feed them.  She is 1-2 years old and 38 pounds.  She is mostly Heeler from what we can tell but on the darker side and she is warm and friendly but cautious too because of the confinement she has experienced.  Help us if you love the breed or love rescuing and fostering or even adopting.  She is fully vetted and ready to go!  Email us at  ccrnewengland@gmail.com   It is time to free Lyla! PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 26, 2024, 2:09 pm

Story
Our pretty little Blue Heeler mixed girl is called Blueberry and she is as sweet as the delicious Blueberries that are so plentiful this time of year. true to form, this Heeler girl will be  your loyal friend and constant companion on your journey in life. The Blue Heelers are stunning dogs that have an extraordinary intelligence and intuitive knack to figure out things in life.  Her sharp observation of life and innate ability to learn, is only matched by her exceptional beauty. This breed is known to be the dog that will stick by you through thick and thin and once you have owned such a breed there is no going back to another. She is just 9 months old, weighs 29 lbs, and has a lot of devotion to give in her furure.  Blueberry is a snuggler, your best friend, walking companion and best car rider and co-pilot.  Blueberry loves, loves, loves to play in your backyard – throw the ball, she might catch it, she might keep it, but she’s a fun girl to have around. She has been nothing more than great friends with every person she meets and all other dogs.  We have not cat tested her yet, but it wouldn’t surprise us if she and the cats could immediately become best of friends.  Blueberry has been spayed, UTD on all vaccinations, HW prevention, microchipped and ready to be adopted.  Check in with Critter Cavalry Rescue and ask for an application by emailing us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. She is ready to click her heels and make a wish to write on the transport van to a new family.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.July 26, 2024, 2:09 pm

Story
Referred to by many as a “Handsome Boy,”Cassius is an active and incredibly smart boy, who’s pastimes include: chasing squirrels in the yard, munching on a chew toy, flashing his puppy dog eyes for treats and curling up with his person(s) for a nap. Cash’s energy and desire to please his owner, pair well with his healthy appetite - Food incentives, obedience training and puzzles are a sure way to get this boy tired out. Cassius is playful, sporty and incredibly loyal to his people - the perfect outdoorsy companion for an active family of adults or older children. Those with a fenced in yard, ready to play fetch and be loved by this sweet boy, could be the perfect fit. Cassius has been a blessing to our family, however he would thrive best in a single dog household - a need we ourselves could not meet for him. He is otherwise a happy, healthy, house and crate-trained pup looking for his forever home. If you think Cash could be the one, don’t hesitate to take the next step!
