Story
“You can’t resist reading Pointer’s profile  because he is so darn cute, but Pointer isn’t for everyone. Pointer is a Blue Heeler mix, weighing in at less than 30 lbs. Just like bigger herding dogs, Pointer likes to chase, herd, nip heels and is very strong-willed. Pointer needs lots of exercise and must have mental stimulation throughout the day. He enjoys learning commands and working on his obedience commands and would make an excellent agility, nose work, scent work or other sport participant. Pointer is not a couch potato and when left to entertain himself, he can get into trouble. Pointer needs a person who is experienced with herding breeds or dogs who are competitive in sports and are not put off by his strong personality.  With the right person, Pointer can be the ultimate friend!  I would not be a candidate for an apartment, condo/townhome or a home without a fence. If interested in giving me a forever home please complete an application at www.safeanimalhaven.com Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler Characteristics Standing between 17 to 20 inches at the shoulder, the Australian Cattle Dog is a sturdy, hard-muscled herder of strength and agility. The ACD is born with a white coat that turns blue-gray or red. Both coat varieties feature distinctive mottling or specking patterns. ACDs have immense work drive and excel at hunting, chasing, and, of course, moving livestock. Their boundless energy and supple gait make them excellent running partners.ACDs are true-blue loyal, famously smart, ever alert, and wary of strangers. If an ACD isn’t challenged, he easily becomes bored and gets into mischief. It is recommended that ACD owners participate with their dog in some work, sport, or regular exercise to keep him mentally and physically fit.November 5, 2024, 12:12 am

Story
Danny's tender, young life had been a tough road that ended with him being dumped at the shelter gravely wounded.  He had been dragged "accidentallly" by the truck taking him to the shelter to be dumped and his feet were raw, bloody and extremely painful and had some other cuts and bruises...he was lucky to be alive.   He could barely walk let alone stand without being in excruciating pain. This poor guy had been through so much in his very young life that we had to save him and get him whole and painfree.  It was a tough road as you can imagine but he was always such a great patient and he could tell we were trying to help him.  Weeks upon weeks of having to wear an Elizabethan collar and lots of TLC from us, he was mended and we began to see his amazing little personality shine through.   He just blossomed and has become the sweetest, funniest boy!  He loves to play with other dogs but is also content to play with toys by himself.  He is also very happy basking in the sun.   Danny is a smart boy and is willing to please.  He is food motivated so training him is a breeze.  He's a younger adult with lots of energy so an active person or family with children over 10 would be perfect.  He deserves his happily ever and his REAL day in the sun! If interested in possibly meeting him, please go to freedomfarmrescue.com and fill out an online application. We just like to know a little about you prior to a meet and greet.

Story
Rocky’s story began when he was found in a very rural front yard—hungry, alone, but unbelievably sweet from the very first moment. He was taken to the local small town shelter for safety, but an experienced foster took one look at his sweet face and knew this boy needed more than a shekter kennel. She saw something special in him… and she was right. Rocky is a smart and striking 5-month-old Red Heeler mix, about 24 pounds, with the most adorable freckles and an expression that melts hearts instantly. He is affectionate and loves to snuggle just as much as he loves to run and play outside. Rocky enjoys his chew toys and, like most puppies, may occasionally snag a sock or blanket—but he’s doing wonderfully learning what’s his and what’s not. He does great in his crate, is progressing nicely with house training, and is eager to please. He plays well with other dogs and has been around cats in his foster home—curious but respectful, never aggressive. Rocky responds well to gentle verbal correction and truly wants to do the right thing. And when he wakes up? He has the sweetest little yawn that will make you smile every single time. This loving, highly intelligent puppy is ready to grow into a loyal, lifelong companion. If you’re looking for a best friend who will stick by your side for years to come, Rocky may be your perfect match. Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to learn more about adopting Rocky. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.February 1, 2026, 12:09 pm

Story
Dodge is a toung, strikingly handsome Blue Heeler/Lab mix with a bright spirit to match his good looks. About one year old and weighing 43 pounds, this mostly black shiny boy has a beautiful gray-speckled chest that gives him a regal, eye-catching look. With longer legs and a slimmer build than a typical Heeler, he carries himself with confidence and athletic grace. Whatever breeds make up his DNA, one thing is certain — Dodge is sweet, playful, and incredibly smart.   Dodge’s story began in the countryside, where he arrived at a rental home alongside a female Heeler mix and their six puppies. When the family couldn’t keep dogs, a cattle dog rescue stepped in to save the puppies, the mama was rehomed, and Dodge found his way to Critter Cavalry Rescue so he could be fully vetted and matched with the perfect home. Still very much a puppy at heart, Dodge brings goofy charm, happy energy, and a love of life wherever he goes. A fenced yard and an active household will help him burn off his enthusiasm and enjoy the adventures he craves.   He gets along wonderfully with dogs of all ages and sizes, is respectful of cats, and would likely be a hit with kids who can keep up with his playful nature. Dodge is learning leash skills quickly and would make an excellent walking partner. He’s eager to learn, quick to please, and happiest when he’s close to his people, watching over them and soaking up attention. With continued training, Dodge is going to be an incredible lifelong companion. If you’re ready for a fun, smart, and loyal sidekick, email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and tell us your city and state. Transport is available from Tennessee to the northeastern states. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 1, 2026, 12:15 am

Story
Come and meet your new best friend in Samson! He is a happy, go lucky, very affectionate guy who has never met a stranger! Sampson loves everyone, young and old alike. However, he prefers to be the star of the show as far as pets go. He will do best in a home with no other dogs or cats, as he can get jealous and territorial if he is not the main man. But oh, what a LOVE he is to his people! He needs a family that can cuddle and play with him, and give him lots of attention. Having a yard where he can run around and get out some energy from time to time would be ideal for him as well. We got Samson and another dog from the shelter about the same time, however, they are not getting along. That being said, we are heartbroken to have to rehome Samson, but we feel that that would be best for each of the dogs, so that they can each get the attention and love they deserve. Sampson is middle age (around 7), very healthy, neutered, up-to-date on shots, micro chipped, etc. Come meet Samson!

Story
Meet Kannon -A Sweet, Energetic Companion Looking for His Forever Home Kannon is a lovable 3-year-old pup full of energy and personality. I’ve had him since he was a puppy, and he has always been outgoing, playful, and eager to run and explore. He thrives on outdoor time and loves being around people. Unfortunately, I recently moved into a small apartment and with a demanding work schedule, I am no longer able to give Kannon the space, attention, and active lifestyle he truly deserves. While he gets along well with my older dog, shes slowing down and cant keep up with his playful nature anymore. Kannon would do best in a home with a yard or someone who enjoys outdoor activities and has the time to give him the love and interaction he craves. He’s a wonderful dog who just needs the right environment to thrive.
