Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Introducing Axton! This sweet boy was one of the brightest kids in The DASH Prison Training Program where he brushed up on his house manners before he went to his current foster home. His foster mom said he's such a cuddle bug! In the program, he did well learning to walk on a leash and did not complain about being in his crate but would much rather be out snuggling with his people. He worked on "sit, down, stay, wait, & leave it." (Of course, continued work on these commands will keep him perfect)!  His handler said he is very intelligent, attentive, affectionate, and has become comfortable enough to snore in his sleep. Axton is a social boy, who seems to love all people, as well as other dogs! Axton also likes his toys and playing in water. He is energetic at play time but also loves when it's time to chill out. Axton did so well and consistent with practicing his basic commands, he moved on to tricks - He was learning to speak! He is ready for his new family. He's got his tuxedo on ready for his big day when he gets adopted. Let's not disappoint this good boy.  * Note: Axton is part of our Foster to Adopt program. Apply now if you are interested in testing how he would acclimate in your home*  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 26, 2024, 5:07 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Meet our girl, Luna. She is a border collie mix who has been waiting quite some time for a family she can call hers.   This sweet girl came to DASH fearful and shy with little confidence.  She is making great strides in the DASH Prison Training Program. Her handler says " She can take a bit to warm up to you but once she does, it is worth the wait.  She has gained a ton of confidence and trust over the past 7 months. She is hassle free and will be the best dog you ever had. It's hard not to love her".  She will do best with a family who responds in a calm, relaxed approach with a confident pack leader.  Luna can be protective of her toys and food.  She is not fond of puppies.  Because she is a border collie mix, she is highly intelligent, and for the most part not too energetic, but an active family is best for this girl.  She is affectionate, loving & loyal.  Her foster said she is the biggest snuggle bug & loves to be right next to her people although she is selective!! Luna is the perfect girl when given the time to settle in!! She's a great dog who just needs a chance with a family that has time for her. She will need time to decompress, with love & patience to show her she is safe & part of the family. Luna is not cat-friendly but is sociable with other K9's.  She has not been "kid tested" so proper meet & greets are always in order. We are excited and anticipate Luna finding her perfect home. Rescue Luna and she'll rescue you. Apply today!    If you're interested in adopting, the first step in our adoption process is to submit an application on our website, www.dashanimalrescue.org   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 26, 2024, 5:07 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Just look at this face!  Kathy is border collie/labrador retriever pup who is housebroken, crate trained and knows basic commands like shake. She is a sweetheart of a dog and loves to be near her owners for cuddles. She can be a typical stubborn puppy but learns quickly with redirection. Kathy struggles with confidence and being around anyone that isn't her caretaker. She needs to build her confidence as well as learning more social behavior around other dogs and humans. We would advise that she continue to be sepa rated during feeding and only be in a home with dogs her size or smaller although a home where she is the only dog would be best.   Help us find her lifelong home today. Story
RCHS does not conduct DNA tests on dogs who enter our facility therefore we are unable to guarantee breed or breed mix. Information provided by shelter staff, volunteers, and veterinarians is used to give a best estimate as to a dog’s breed make up. We do our best to inform adopters about the potential breeds for each dog.We are a dog only facility so we do not know how most of our dogs will be with cats. Even if a dog is surrendered to us and said to be good with cats there is no way to be sure the dog will be good with your cats. We do have a 7 day foster-to-adopt program so that you can see how the dog interacts with your cats before adoption.

Story
We have had Satchel for about 4 years and she has become increasingly more aggressive toward our sheep. She is bred to corral sheep but she never took to the training as most of her breed does and instead only wants to chase them. She is a sweet dog and will make a great companion for someone. We have lots of grandchildren and she does fine with them. We have another dog that she does ok with as well. She can be skiddish with strangers sometimes so we do have a sign up for delivery people. She loves to be petted and loved on and knows a few basic commands. She comes in at night and is crate trained to stay in at night but doesn’t stay in all day, and no longer sleeps in a crate, but in our laundry room with our other dog. It’s with regret that we have to rehome Satchel, but she has become a threat to our livestock. She is not a good livestock dog, but is a wonderful companion.

Story
THIS GUY! Wow! He has come a LONG away since he's been in our care. He was scheduled for euthanasia simply because they were out of room. He and his brother Happy. So a Good Samaritan pulled them both and spared them from certain death. They have been amazing, becoming very social because they have been attending doggy daycare everyday and receiving hands in one on one professional training! Captain is approx 7-8 months old. He's shy at first around new things but warms up quickly. He is kennel trained and house trained and it goes without saying he's dog friendly since he attends doggy daycare! He's super easy to get along with just needs a patient family because he is a bit shy at first around new things. He's with Kip and Michele in their home in Memphis, Tn. Once an application has been submitted and approved Kip, who has been working with Captain one on one for several months, will speak to you and tell you all about him. Transport cost is an additional $185. If you would like to make Captain a part of your family Please follow the link below to our adoption application . https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9
