Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Introducing Axton! This sweet boy was one of the brightest kids in The DASH Prison Training Program where he brushed up on his house manners before he went to his current foster home. His foster mom said he's such a cuddle bug! In the program, he did well learning to walk on a leash and did not complain about being in his crate but would much rather be out snuggling with his people. He worked on "sit, down, stay, wait, & leave it." (Of course, continued work on these commands will keep him perfect)!  His handler said he is very intelligent, attentive, affectionate, and has become comfortable enough to snore in his sleep. Axton is a social boy, who seems to love all people, as well as other dogs! Axton also likes his toys and playing in water. He is energetic at play time but also loves when it's time to chill out. Axton did so well and consistent with practicing his basic commands, he moved on to tricks - He was learning to speak! He is ready for his new family. He's got his tuxedo on ready for his big day when he gets adopted. Let's not disappoint this good boy.  * Note: Axton is part of our Foster to Adopt program. Apply now if you are interested in testing how he would acclimate in your home*  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 18, 2024, 4:32 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Sweet Luna came to our rescue with puppies.  She was an incredible momma.  All of her pups have since been adopted but she is still patiently waiting on someone to call her their girl.  She is a border collie mix who loves walks and playing with other K9's.   This sweet girl came to DASH fearful and shy with little confidence.  She has made great strides in the DASH Prison Training Program. Her handler says " Luna is better than a good pet, she's a good friend and a great roommate".  She will do best with a family who responds in a calm, relaxed approach with a confident pack leader. Because she is a border collie mix, she is highly intelligent, and for the most part not too energetic, but an active family is best for this girl.  She is affectionate, loving & loyal.  Her foster said she is the biggest snuggle bug & loves to be right next to her people although she is selective!! Luna is the perfect girl when given the time to settle in!! She's a great dog who just needs a chance with a family that has time for her. She will need time to decompress, with love & patience to show her she is safe & part of the family. Luna is not cat-friendly but is sociable with other K9's.  However, she does not tolerate puppies.   She has not been "kid tested" so proper meet & greets are always in order. We are excited and anticipate Luna finding her perfect home. Rescue Luna and she'll rescue you. Apply today!    If you're interested in adopting, the first step in our adoption process is to submit an application on our website, www.dashanimalrescue.org   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 18, 2024, 4:32 pm

Story
Pretty is a pure bred shorthaired border collie, 2 years old. She is strong, gentle, affectionate. She desires to be obedient, listens and learns well, but had not been properly trained and may have some habits in need of correction. She has a strong a strong herding instinct, so she could make a good working farm dog. She is bold, but afraid of loud sudden noises such a thunder, fireworks, and gun shots, from which she seeks shelter or barks with concern at the sky. She would be a wonderful companion or family pet regardless. She has lived outside full time with her sister from the same litter, Joy, with access to five acres on which they happily roam and play. She gets along well with our four boys, ages 9–15, as well neighboring kids and adults. She has no fear of strangers and is friendly with everyone. Ideally, a new home would offer lots of outdoor time and space like she is accustomed to. She could live indoors with outside time, but may not be compatible with smaller pets because of her strong prey drive, and will need to be house trained. She is familiar with basic commands such as her name, come, sit, lie down, wait, and thank you (break word), yet she will need reinforcement training. Her sister Joy is also up for adoption, but because they have littermate aggression tendencies, Regina has suggested re-homing them separately. Joy is a pure bred shorthaired border collie, 2 years old. She is energetic and playful. She is a fun family pet. She likes playing tug and fetch, and would make a good agility dog if you wanted to teach her tricks.  She has lived outside full time with her sister from the same litter, Pretty, with access to five acres on which they happily roam and play. Story
THIS GUY! Wow! He has come a LONG away since he's been in our care. He was scheduled for euthanasia simply because they were out of room. He and his brother Happy. So a Good Samaritan pulled them both and spared them from certain death. They have been amazing, becoming very social because they have been attending doggy daycare everyday and receiving hands in one on one professional training! Captain is approx 7-8 months old. He's shy at first around new things but warms up quickly. He is kennel trained and house trained and it goes without saying he's dog friendly since he attends doggy daycare! He's super easy to get along with just needs a patient family because he is a bit shy at first around new things. He's with Kip and Michele in their home in Memphis, Tn. Once an application has been submitted and approved Kip, who has been working with Captain one on one for several months, will speak to you and tell you all about him. Transport cost is an additional $185. If you would like to make Captain a part of your family Please follow the link below to our adoption application . https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9
