Story
Meet Rascal:  Rascal is a 4 year old Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix that weighs around 41 pounds.  Rascal was rescued from a high kill shelter a day before she was to be euthanized.  Rascal loves attention and is very sweet.  Rascal can be dog selective but has no reaction to cats. We recommend older children because Rascal is energetic and sometimes jumps on you. Overall Rascal is a nice girl...just needs some work and stability. Rascal is house and crate trained but needs some work on her leash walking. Rascal will need a fenced in yard where she can run and a family that is very active and experienced. Rascal will make a great dog in the right home. Rascal is up to date on all her shots and spayed. If you were interested in adopting this sweet girl, please go to our website at charliescrusaders.org and fill out our adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Cotton is a SUPER sweet boy who just adores people! He gets a long well with other dogs. He is not suited to be around livestock so he would do best in a home with no livestock. Cotton is super playful and loves to run around enjoying the fresh air and getting tons of attention!! He would do best in a home with another dog and a securely fenced yard. :)) REQUIREMENTS - Fenced Yard, Another dog  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hey all, I'm Nova a 37#, 14 month old female, Austrailian Cattle Dog from WV. I'm a HAPPY HAPPY gal. My owner went to jail when I was a wee pup, a lady took me in, but her yard was small so If outside I've always had to be on a chain. Ugh!that has been living in a home but only out on a short chain. Since transport up to PA I've been in super pup friendly foster home with other buddies to play with, room to roam and soft bed to land. I am almost house trained with only a few accidents, needing to get into a routine. I love to do Zoomies, wrestle with big and small 4 leggeds, go for rides, walks and play some ball! What more does a pup want from life.. Well, Maybe a NEW FUREVER HOME! Already know how to sit, shake, down, learning wait too. I come from a distance SUPER QUICK especially if there is a treat involved once arriving at your feet. I'm super food motivated but will wait my turn when treats are handed out. Never a growl or teeth showing around food. My only fault is I do like to hurd. Yes, been to Petco, did GREAT with people large and small, other pups, but if a child zoomed past, I tried to stop and control the little one. Oh, well, is in my make up/mind set I guess. So, if you are looking for a little gal, who goes belly up for a rub, gives soft kisses and loves your attention, I'm for you! Inside I did learn house manors: So, get off your duff, complete an application. Let's ring in the New Year together start 2026 with a BANG! Check out my photo shoot and VIDEO!Interested in meeting me?  Complete an on-line application! Story
Atlas is a big fluffy sweet guy. He thrives off of lots of love and attention! He came to us after someone abandoned him during Covid. I wish I did not have to do this to him again - I know he deserves more. However we are in an abusive situation and it would be best for his peace to not be drug along as we find peace as well. He just needs love. He is such a good boy. He loves carrots and bully sticks. He enjoys going on easy level hikes and splashing in rivers during during summer and LOVES the snow in the winter. He does have a limp. It is unknown what actually happened to his back leg - we were never told the full background of his limp. But he seems to adjust fine. He also loves car rides! Sticking his head out of the window. He seems just fine around children he is just huge and forgets his size. He does still jump - with love. His size can make it a little bit rude at times. He is a little scared with other dogs
