Story
Kiwi is a super playful and smart girl. She even plays gently with smaller creatures like cats and rabbits. She is potty trained and has caught on quickly to simple commands like Sit and Stay. Kiwi is shy at first but quickly warms up. She was born 6/29/2019We got Kiwi & Peaches from the shelter as itty bitty pups, and soon found out that both of them had CHV (Canine Herpesvirus). Most puppies die at 2 weeks from this, however these two were fighters and besides runny noses here and there, are doing really well. They can have it the rest of their lifes and will be sick from time to time and because there is just not a lot documented on situations like this we have no idea what their future health could be. They should never be around puppies or attend public places or events.Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided. Story
Sweet Opal was found in February 2021 with her babies. She was completely feral and seemed like she had never had human contact. She went to a foster home where she got to spend time with her babies until they were ready to be adopted. As soon as she was ready, she was brought to our facility where she would be in contact with more people and start socializing and trusting people. It has taken several months but the staff and volunteers can walk her on a leash a little bit more each day. Her friend Huey gives her more confidence. She would do good in a home where she can come and have her space and take her time to warm up. She will shy away and but does not get aggressive at all. That`s the reason we want her to make a smooth transition when finding her forever home. Opal would do great with a doggie sibling that could teach her to accept love and learn to be a happy trusting dog. We love her at the rescue and hope she finds that family to love and trust. Opal is believed to be between 2 and 3 years old. She is spayed and up to date on shots.Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided. If you are interested in adopting, please complete our Pre-application: https://form.jotform.us/asr628/ShortAdoptionInquiry

Story
Millie is a sweet girl living the farm life now, but that almost wasn't her story. At just 8 months old, she was set to be euthanized by her owners, not for any real reason, they simply didn't want to care for her anymore. Her veterinarian couldn't stand by and let that happen. She stepped in and offered to board Millie until a foster or rescue could be found. That's how Millie ended up here. Today Millie is thriving in a farm foster home. She's good with cats, dogs, and children, she recalls beautifully once she knows and trusts you, and she is an absolute snuggle bug. Here's the honest part: Millie will likely be terrified of you at your first meet and greet. Tail tucked, glued to the opposite side of the room, unsure if you're safe. That's just how she greets new people right now, and she's come a long way already. With every new introduction, she's getting braver and more confident. Millie is looking for HER person. Someone with the patience to sit with her fear, let her come around in her own time, and earn the trust she's learning to give again. Could that be you?Millie is spayed, vaccinated, and on heartworm preventatives. She's ready to call your place home!  ##2615806##

Story
Meet Luna (aka Lu!) Luna is an approximately 3-year-old, roughly 47-pound bundle of personality, happiness, and love who's ready to find her forever family! If you're looking for a smart, active dog who can keep up with your adventures but also happily curl up beside you at the end of the day, Luna might be your perfect match. Why You'll Love Luna: Luna is the total package. She is playful, active, incredibly intelligent, and guaranteed to make you laugh with her goofy personality. She loves being around her people and never misses an opportunity to sneak in a kiss or ask for extra pets. While Luna loves to stay busy and be active, she also has a more chill, cuddly side. Her foster mom occasionally works from home and says Luna is the perfect office buddy, happily relaxing nearby while she works. She's fully house trained and crate trained, and she sees her crate is her safe place. Just tell her "bed," and she'll happily run right in! Her foster family states she may whine for a minute or two when you leave, but she settles quickly and is happy to relax until you're home. Luna is also dog friendly and absolutely loves playing with the other dog in her foster home (she has only lived with medium/large dogs that we know of). Because she enjoys canine companionship so much, she'd love a playful dog sibling in her forever home. Luna already knows her basic commands and is eager to learn more. She catches on quickly and truly enjoys training. Puzzle toys, games, new tricks, and anything that challenges her mind are right up her alley. Her Perfect Home: Luna is an athletic, high-energy girl who needs a family committed to giving her plenty of exercise and mental enrichment. She'll do best in a home with: -A fenced yard to run and play (no apartments, please) -An active owner who enjoys walks, hikes, etc. -A playful canine companion (preferred, but not required) -Older kids or dog savvy kids preferred, as she does occasionally jump when excited to see you -Someone excited to continue her training and help her reach her full potential Luna is loyal, loving, and full of life. She's looking for a family that will embrace her playful spirit, continue helping her learn, and give her all the love she deserves. If you're ready for an adventurous and loyal best friend who will keep you smiling every day, Luna is waiting to meet you! Apply to adopt at acesplacerescue.org/adoptionprocess
