Story
We are seeking to rehome our Border Collie mini Australian Shepherd mix named Bele. He is almost 7 years old, 50 lbs and we currently live in Crandall, TX. We went through extensive dog training last year in an attempt to break bad habits and stop him from herding our 1 year old. He did well with the training but I'm afraid there is no breaking this herding instinct. He is a very sweet dog and is good with bigger kids but I am afraid he could accidentally hurt our little one. He is in good health, micro-chipped, and up to date on vaccinations.

Story
Mollie was dumped in my Granddaughter's pick-up in a Walmart parking lot in October 2018.Somewhere she had puppies, since she was full of milk. 38lbs and near starvation, are, had her Vet checked, given shots, heartgard and after she dried up, had her spayed and put on Nexgard. Initially she did well with my other dogs till one day she turned on my senior female, who incidentally was a spitting image of her. We had no idea what provoked her, yet It happened again and then she turned on another dog she was friends with. After consulting with a Master dog trainer he thought she might have had initial training as a fighting dog and it would be best to rehome her, ideally with an older person that has absolutely no other dogs. Since she is good with people and cats, we agreed, especially since now she is kenneled most of the day and she deserves better. She is a housedog and great in every respect except other dogs. Thank you for listening

Story
Henry cane to us as a young pup and was diagnosed with Megaesophagus. You can see by looking at him that it does not slow him down. The absolute only thing different between him and any other dog is that he has to eat on two feet. Everything else is normal. Eating on 4 feet is not an option for him. However, he can drink and have treats on 4. He is crate, house trained, and doggie door trained. He gets along well with all size of dogs as he has several foster siblings. He is very loving and affectionate and believe it or not is sensitive. When researching this condition, ask questions as not all cases are the same. His foster has had two different ME dogs and both are very different. He needs that special person who will look after him and make sure he stays and healthy and happy as he is now. He would love to have a playmate too.

Story
Gordy is a fluffy cookie monster, trapped in the body of a Border Collie. He doesn't know how to herd livestock or chase balls. He'd rather sit pretty for treats than run after sheep. Gordy is as handsome as they come! His right ear always stands at attention, while his left cocks to the side and a smile is stretched across his face. He loves to play tag in the yard with other dogs and tries to beat the neighboring dog to the end of the fence line. Gordy may be a little slow when feeling at ease in new situations or with new people, but once he knows you're a good person, he'll think you're the bee's knees and want to be friends! Would you like to wake up to Gordy's smile every morning? Then contact OHAR to learn more about how to meet him! History: Gordy was turned into the Mesquite Animal shelter when found as a stray. Gordy is a happy, playful guy who is eager to please. He is crate trained graduated from obedience training where he was a star pupil. Adoption Process: After your application is approved, a home visit is schedule. We will bring the pet to you and help with introductions to your current pet(s). You will then have a week with the pet to ensure they are the right fit for your home. At the end of the week, you finalize the adoption and the pet is officially part of your family! Story
Buttercup wanted to wear the pretty collar for her photo shoot so she would make a big impression. Doesn't she look festive? Buttercup is a one-year-old 61 pound Border Collie/Catahoula Leopard mix that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 2/18 as a stray. She is spayed! You might call her a brindle beauty. She's got a winning personality. As she will notice in her photos she appears to be smiling in three of them! That's because she's a happy girl. After initially exploring the yard she stayed close indicating she likes human interaction. She sat for treats and took them gently. It was obvious she wanted to please. She chased some balls but did not retrieve them. Her tail wags a lot. She's friendly, sweet, gentle, easy-going and affectionate. She walked relatively well on a leash. She sniffed some dogs in the bay wagging her tail and ignored the ones that were barking at her. I did not see any signs of aggression. So my question is what's not to love about this soft cuddly girl? She would love to cuddle with your family on the couch or at your feet as you're watching TV. She told me she'd even be a fan of whatever team you support.

Story
Meet Chrissie! She is a 1 1/2 year old female border collie/pointer mix that weighs 44 lbs. She came in as a stray with another dog Ember on 4/27 to the Mesquite Animal Shelter. Chrissie is a beautiful girl with soft brown eyes and the sweetest smile! She has a very sweet, gentle loving personality. She enjoys being petted, loved on and will give you plenty of kisses. She walks well on a leash, takes treats gently and knows the sit command. Chrissie is happiest when she is spending time with her human companion. She will sometimes chase a ball, but hasn't shown much interest in toys. Chrissie did come in with another female dog and is kenneled with her. As we walked through the shelter she did not show any aggression to the other dogs barking at her. We do always ask if there will be another dog in the family to please ask the shelter for a dog test. If you have the room for two dogs, Chrissie and Ember would be the perfect pair. They do not have to be adopted together tho. They both dream of having their own loving family where they can have a secure backyard to run and play in, then back inside to cuddle close. Come meet Chrissie or Ember and they will touch your hearts as they have ours.

Story
Omo came to Furry Friendzy with his 8 siblings and is the only one left. He, too, would love to be in a furever home where he can give his humans all the love and doggie kisses he has to give. Omo is very smart and learns quickly. He has the most beautiful expressive eyes and always seems to be in thought. He gets along with all dogs and cats and loves to play with everyone. Please consider him; you will not regret it!
