Henry came to us as a young pup and was diagnosed with Megaesophagus. You can see by looking at him that it does not slow him down. The absolute only thing different between him and any other dog is that he has to eat on two feet. Everything else is normal. Eating on 4 feet is not an option for him. However, he can drink and have treats on 4. He is crate, house trained, and doggie door trained. He gets along well with all size of dogs as he has several foster siblings. He is very loving and affectionate and believe it or not is sensitive. When researching this condition, ask questions as not all cases are the same. His foster has had two different ME dogs and both are very different. He needs that special person who will look after him and make sure he stays and healthy and happy as he is now. He would love to have a playmate too.

At just three months old, he and his brother, Arlo, found themselves in one of our local shelters facing euthanasia before they had even had the chance to experience what it meant to be loved. He kept his distance, avoided touch, and watched the world with fearful eyes. Trust wasn’t something that came naturally—it had to be earned. And earn it, we did.
