Henry came to us as a young pup and was diagnosed with Megaesophagus. You can see by looking at him that it does not slow him down. The absolute only thing different between him and any other dog is that he has to eat on two feet. Everything else is normal. Eating on 4 feet is not an option for him. However, he can drink and have treats on 4. He is crate, house trained, and doggie door trained. He gets along well with all size of dogs as he has several foster siblings. He is very loving and affectionate and believe it or not is sensitive. When researching this condition, ask questions as not all cases are the same. His foster has had two different ME dogs and both are very different. He needs that special person who will look after him and make sure he stays and healthy and happy as he is now. He would love to have a playmate too.

Meet Cheddar! (Don’t you think he needs a girlfriend named Brie?!! But , I digress. ) Cheddar is a 1 year old border collie mix who, despite a run of bad luck, is determined to beat the odds. Abandoned in a parking lot and left to fend for himself, he eventually found himself picked up by animal control. The shelter was a loud and scary place, and Cheddar was afraid there and soon was placed on the EU list. He was given an extension and a volunteer profiled him on her Facebook page, where he was noticed by rescue and placed into a foster home. Unfortunately, he developed kennel cough from his time at the shelter, and although not feeling his best, he has shown himself to be a gentle soul. Cheddar seems to be potty trained, no accidents in the house, and looks for praise each time he does his business outside. Initially a little shy, he now chooses to sit or lay close to his people. He rides well in a car, and walks beautifully on leash. He has played briefly with his fosters dog. As he regains his strength, we are excited to see more of his personality shine. He’ll thrive with a patient person who can help build his confidence and show him the love he deserves. To meet Cheddar, please fill out an application!
