Henry came to us as a young pup and was diagnosed with Megaesophagus. You can see by looking at him that it does not slow him down. The absolute only thing different between him and any other dog is that he has to eat on two feet. Everything else is normal. Eating on 4 feet is not an option for him. However, he can drink and have treats on 4. He is crate, house trained, and doggie door trained. He gets along well with all size of dogs as he has several foster siblings. He is very loving and affectionate and believe it or not is sensitive. When researching this condition, ask questions as not all cases are the same. His foster has had two different ME dogs and both are very different. He needs that special person who will look after him and make sure he stays and healthy and happy as he is now. He would love to have a playmate too.

Gordy is a fluffy cookie monster, trapped in the body of a Border Collie. He doesn't know how to herd livestock or chase balls. He'd rather sit pretty for treats than run after sheep.Gordy is as handsome as they come! His right ear always stands at attention, while his left cocks to the side and a smile is stretched across his face. He loves to play tag in the yard with other dogs and tries to beat the neighboring dog to the end of the fence line. Gordy may be a little slow when feeling at ease in new situations or with new people, but once he knows you're a good person, he'll think you're the bee's knees and want to be friends!Would you like to wake up to Gordy's smile every morning? Kept indoors, Loves her crate. Crate trained for company visits and also trained not to get on beds or furniture when loose in home. Responds to hand signals for sit and lay down. Does not tear up things left out such as toys and clothes. Does not get on counters or beg at the table. Walks well on the leash unless another dog approaches. We found her during lock down roaming the streets at 6 months old. At that time she loved people and other dogs. We had her spayed and chipped. Unfortunately, she and I were attacked by a loose dog on a walk and she was seriously injured. After that, she does not like other dogs and I muzzle her for vet visits. Once someone is introduced, she loves guests. She has lived with cats but lately has gotten too jealous and intolerant towards our cat. I believe with the right training and exercise she would make someone happy. She is temporarily living with my elderly mom keeping her company and guarding her house but she is too much for her to bath.

Baylee is a wonderful companion who loves snuggles. She likes to run outside and play. She’s a bit timid at first but warms up pretty quickly especially with treats. Does well at doggy daycare. She does well with the low energy or older dogs. Loves the couch and a place in the bed if allowed. Has manners. Knows “give paw” “wait” “quiet time” “sit” “down” and “gentle” when giving her treats. Currently lives with another dog and cat. And loves to go visit my mom’s dogs. Amazing family pet that needs to expend energy.

**RESCUE ONLY**Meet Cody!! He is a 3yr old male Border Collie mix that weighs 34lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 12/4, with a broken leg. The vet has recommended surgery to correct the injury. Vet records and Xrays can be requested directly from the shelter. Cody is such a gentle, kind and loving boy. He enjoys having his face petted, roll over for tummy rubs, will give you his paw, give kisses and loves kisses all over his face. All he wants to do be close to his family members. He hasn`t shown any interest in the other dogs barking at him. Those beautiful brown eyes staring at you, full of love, how can you not fall for him as I have. It is very clear to see how wonderful of a loving companion he would make once he is past his surgery. Being able to play in his own secured yard, then come back inside to be cuddling on the couch is what sweet Cody dreams of having. If one of our fantastic rescues can help him, he would be so grateful.
