She was found running loose in a subdivision off Cockrell Hill after multiple neighborhood dogs had already been hit by cars. With police assistance, TexasACR stepped in, and learned Cassie had not only been struck, but had previously been hit with a bat by a neighbor. Despite all she endured, Cassie never lost her sweetness. Her leg was so severely damaged that surgeons had no choice but to amputate. She handled surgery like a champ and has recovered beautifully, now navigating life as a tripod with ease, joy, and confidence. Today, Cassie is safe in foster care and thriving. She is house trained, rides wonderfully in the car, loves to play, and has a gentle, loving personality. She has been wonderful with people and other dogs, and her forgiving spirit is nothing short of inspiring. Henry came to us as a young pup and was diagnosed with Megaesophagus. You can see by looking at him that it does not slow him down. The absolute only thing different between him and any other dog is that he has to eat on two feet. Everything else is normal. Eating on 4 feet is not an option for him. However, he can drink and have treats on 4. He is crate, house trained, and doggie door trained. He gets along well with all size of dogs as he has several foster siblings. He is very loving and affectionate and believe it or not is sensitive. When researching this condition, ask questions as not all cases are the same. His foster has had two different ME dogs and both are very different. He needs that special person who will look after him and make sure he stays and healthy and happy as he is now. He would love to have a playmate too.
