Story
We rescued Finley in October of 2024.He is the sweetest dog anyone could ask for. So smart and full of energy! We’ve been struggling with rehoming him because we love him so much but sadly we’ve delayed this long enough. Our lives are really busy and we hoped that we would be able to make it work. With us traveling constantly and the increased cost of boarding him along with vet visits have left us no other choice.Finley will be a great addition to anyone’s family.

Story
I'm Berry (61366255), and the sweetest things are worth waiting for. I'm a 1 year old Border Collie mix, weighing 45 pounds, and I might be a little timid when we first meet. But give me a moment and you'll discover the happy, loving boy that I am. I love being close to my people, soaking up affection, and once I know I'm safe, my joyful personality shines through. I'm looking for someone who'll give me a chance to blossom into the loyal best friend I was always meant to be. Could that someone be you?   Check out all the adoptable animals on the shelter's website! https://www.collincountytx.gov/Services/Animal-Services/adoptable-pets All adoptions include spay/neuter, microchip and first round of vaccinations. Story
Stan absolutely loves and seeks attention and affection. He was so excited to be outside that he was almost beside himself and continually jumped on me. He just wanted to be acknowledged. After about five minutes he settled down and his true loving nature was on display. Stan is a one year old neutered 55 pound Border Collie/Alaskan Husky mix that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 4/21. He is black and white with white spots and stand-up ears. He would like to go outside for walks and to play, but then come inside the home for family time! He will need some manners training to learn not to jump on you. He does sit and offers his paw (when he wants to). Stan loves life and anybody that will give him attention. He’s got a very cheerful devoted disposition! He has saved up an abundance of kisses for you! He has a strong pull on the leash. He did his business immediately when he got into the yard.

Story
River is a 5 year old Red merle Aussie. We got River when he was 10 weeks old from a local breeder. He has been raised with our young children and other dogs. River has spent 6 weeks in a training program. He is well behaved on leash, as soon as he is on leash he treats it as his job to do and will give you his full attention. However, River is dog aggressive with my other dog therefor I would not recommend him to anyone who has dogs. I don't recommend children either. Additionally, He has completed a 2 week program for aggression with my other dog whom the problems started with and it was unsuccessful. We have done everything we can at this point and its become unfair and unsafe to both our dogs. This is why we are looking to rehome River. Ideally the best option for River is an older couple who just wants one dog for protection and companionship or a young adult looking for a best friend. River is loyal, trained, and has plenty of energy for adventures.

Story
*UPDATE* We have moved to Fort Worth, but will still gladly drive Daisy wherever she can find a nice home. We received Daisy when she was 10 weeks old. She is 2 years old (born around January of 2024). Daisy is a very snuggly cuddly lap dog. She is not super adventerous, but does enjoy going on walks and laying out in the sun and in the grass. Her favorite things to do are laying on her bed or in your lap with lots of love and pets. She is very smart and listens well to commands like sitting, staying, or coming when called. She is very social and loves meeting new humans and dogs alike. She loves kids and babies, but does get so excited that she jumps up to kiss and greet everyone she meets, but there is not a mean bone in her body. She is a real sweetheart and would be perfect in a home that will show her lots of love and affection.

Story
Meet Outlaw! Outlaw is a 3 year old male Australian Cattle Dog, also known as a Blue Heeler, mix weighing approximately 44 pounds. He was found on 04/23/26, off Brockway Drive in Rockwall. Sadly, no one came to reclaim him, and he is now searching for the forever family he deserves. At first, Outlaw may seem a little shy, but don't let that fool you. He is a very social dog who simply needs a chance to get to know you. Once he feels comfortable, his true personality begins to shine. Like many Heelers, Outlaw is incredibly loyal, intelligent, and forms deep bonds with his people. These remarkable dogs are natural people pleasers who thrive when they have a person or family to love. Outlaw is happiest when he is included in everyday life. Whether you're working from home, heading out for a walk, or relaxing on the couch, he wants to be by your side. Because he craves companionship, he would do best in a home where someone is home most of the time. He is not a dog who will be happy spending long hours alone in a backyard and may try to find a way out to be with people. He is looking for a family that will keep him safely indoors and treat him as a true member of the family. He is learning to walk on a leash and is catching on quickly. Outlaw appears to do best with female dogs that match his energy level and play style. If you currently have another dog, a meet and greet is recommended to help ensure a good fit. Outlaw's adoption fee is $125. He is neutered, microchipped, current on his rabies vaccine and boosters, and is heartworm positive. Thanks to Rockwall PAWS, his heartworm treatment is fully sponsored. An approved online adoption application is required before scheduling a meet and greet or completing an adoption. If you're looking for a devoted companion who will reward your patience with a lifetime of loyalty, Outlaw is ready to meet you. Apply online at: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. July 23, 2026, 6:58 pm
