Dolly is great. She's good with dogs, but is a little timid if they are bigger than her. She likes people and LOVES treats. Food is the best way to earn her trust. She can sit for treats, is doing wonderful with kennel training, and with the exception of pee pads, has never had an accident inside. She likes the couch a lot, it seems to be her safe space when out with everyone. She'll curl up next to you on the couch to nap or to soak up some affection. She's learning to let us know when she needs to go out, she'll hop off the couch and either wander around or make her way to the back door to let us know she needs to potty. Our favorite quirk of hers is the one folded ear and one that sticks straight up. It's the cutest. She loves pup-cups but can be a little anxious in the car at times, she tries to sit as close as possible to me without actually sitting in my lap lol. If you’re looking for a built-in best buddy who’s always up for fun, exploration, and a little silliness, I might just be your guy. I’m mostly white with a splash of ginger on my ears. I was born last July 4th, and I’m an Aussie mix like my mom. Dad is a bit of a mystery, but I like to think that just adds to my charm. I’ve got soft fur, bright dark eyes, and a happy-go-lucky outlook on life. When I was four months old I had a hearing test and they found that I was deaf in my right ear - this is called "unilateral" hearing. All this means is sometimes I have move my head around so I can locate sound, so it might take me a second to process. I love being on the move, checking out new places, and meeting new friends. I’m great with kids and other dogs, and I’m very well adjusted. I’m already crate trained and housetrained too, which means I’m off to a great start as a family companion. My ideal family would be active, enjoy getting out and doing things, and have a backyard where I can stretch my legs, play, and burn off some of my energy. At the end of the day, I’m also sweet and cuddly and happy to soak up love from my people. I’m looking for a person or family who wants a true companion and plans to make me part of their whole life, for my whole life. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor, and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect.
