Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. She is Xena The Warrior PrincessXena was born approximately July 15, 2021.  She is a GORGEOUS Border Collie/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix or Tri-Colored Rhodesian Ridgeback.  Her personality is true to her breed! Xena's foster mom and dad have 3 other dogs that she likes to play with and share toys with, but she has also learned to be by herself.  Her foster mom says she needs an active family with another dog or multiple dogs. Xena needs room to run to get her energy out.  She likes going for long walks and exploring the wilderness. Xena sleeps with her foster mom and dad in bed with all the other dogs. It gets a bit crowded but she does love sleeping with the pack. This makes her feel safe. Xena does not like to be in a kennel or crate.  So, a family that is at home would be ideal. She likes eating ice cubes!  Xena says 'When mom gives me fresh water in a bowl she puts in extra ice cubes for me. That makes me feel special and loved.'  Xena loves riding in a vehicle and knows not to jump around and act like a baby. She can walk on a leash pretty well as long as she has her harness on; Xena is not a fan of collars. She also knows a few commands like “stay”, “no” and “potty”.Xena will bark at strangers until she gets to know them.  Her foster dad has taught her to fetch.  She loves chasing the ball and bringing it back, it’s the letting it go part that she has a hard time with BECAUSE she also loves to play tug of war.  Xena is also a fan of the Laser Light.  She thinks they are fascinating!Xena is Special Needs because if and when she gets too excited she has seizures.  The vet attributes this to a blow to the head as a puppy.  Therefore, she needs to be in a home that understands how to deal with occasional seizures.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 25, 2024, 3:51 pm

Story
Montana is an affectionate 4-year-old Lab/Pit mix who’s ready to be your loyal companion for life. This sweet girl is a fetch fanatic who lives for playtime and loves nothing more than chasing balls with her favorite humans. She’s both treat and toy motivated and ready to learn new tricks. Montana gets along fine with other dogs, but she’s truly a people-focused pup who wants to be your number-one play partner. On a recent Doggie Day Out adventure, she proved to be a calm car passenger and a wonderful trail companion. She enjoys sniffy walks and likes to lead the way without pulling on the leash. Though Montana can be a little shy when meeting new people, she warms up quickly with patience (and a few tasty treats). Once she feels comfortable, she enjoys gentle petting and cuddle time with her friends. If you can toss a tennis ball, you’re already in her inner circle! Montana was placed on final because shelter life has become overwhelming for her. Repeated encounters with unfamiliar people reaching into her kennel have left her feeling uneasy, and she may growl or show her teeth to ask for space. But outside the kennel, Montana’s true personality shines—sweet, playful, and full of love. Montana will thrive in a calm, patient home that gives her time to decompress and build trus ##2599337##

Story
STABBED BY HIS OWNER, NOW HES ALL ALONE Rescue preferred This is not the life Buster deserves to be living Buster came to the shelter in July after being stabbed by his owner with a sword. He was seen by an offsite vet, his owner was arrested, and he has been here as evidence ever since. His owner’s case was dismissed due to a lack of evidence (unfortunately), and Buster is now FINALLY able to leave the shelter after being cooped up in a kennel for over FIVE MONTHS. We prefer that Buster goes to a rescue, as we do not want Buster to ever have to go back to the person who did this to him— he deserves better. He deserves love. Buster’s story is sad, but please do not bring him into your home unprepared just because his story tugs at your heart. Anyone who takes Buster home needs to be prepared for a long and potentially rocky and frustrating decompression process. Being in a shelter for so long is not easy and takes a toll on a dog’s psyche (and behaviors). He needs space and grace to heal. Currently, Buster’s mind is all over the place so it takes him a bit to connect with people because he is just too overwhelmed. He needs someone who understands that it may not be love at first sight. Someone patient who will not necessarily shower him with love but will give him structure, boundaries, and a safe place to rest his bones. Buster seems to want to be with dogs, but again, he needs to decompress. He lacks manners and shows some dominant behaviors, possibly due to how stressed he is. We cannot say for sure how his opinion of dogs and behaviors toward them will change once he is in a home, but currently he would do best with SLOW intros (decompression!!!!) and a tolerant, friendly dog. ##2619651##

Story
🤠 Cash’s Story 🤠 Male Puppy Cash may have a cowboy name, but his charm comes from his easygoing, old-soul nature. He’s the kind of pup who looks at the world like he’s already got it figured out — calm, curious, and quietly confident in his own way. Cash enjoys simple pleasures: stretching out in the grass, watching the day go by, and settling in for a good nap after a little puppy exploring. He’s affectionate without being pushy and has a gentle, steady presence that makes him the perfect sidekick for both lazy afternoons and everyday adventures. When playtime calls, Cash is happy to answer — especially if toys or treats are involved — but he’s just as content curling up nearby, soaking in all the love. He has a soft heart, a loyal spirit, and the kind of temperament that makes you feel like he belongs right by your side. Like all puppies, Cash will need continued training, patience, and guidance as he grows. In return, he promises devotion, companionship, and a lifetime of quiet loyalty to his forever family. If you’re looking for a sweet, steady little cowboy to ride through life with, Cash might just be the one you’ve been waiting for. Story
Outlaw didn't earn his name by breaking rules - he earned it by breaking hearts (in the best way). He started life as a little rebel with a mind of his own, always wandering just a step off the beaten path and doing things his way. While the world expected him to be tough, Outlaw quickly proved he's really just a softie with a mischievous streak. He's the kind of pup who steals socks instead of gold, naps like a champ after a long day of adventures, and flashes that classic 'who, me?' look when he's caught being a little too curious. Outlaw may have a wild name, but at heart he's loyal, loving, and ready to settle down with someone who appreciates a gentle outlaw searching for his forever home. Like all puppies, Outlaw will need continued training, patience, and plenty of love as he grows. In return, he promises cuddles, laughter, and a lifetime of loyalty. If you're looking for a sweet rebel with a heart of gold, Outlaw just might be your perfect match.
