Story
❤️ Meet Mikka ❤️ Have you ever wanted a dog that thinks you're the greatest person on Earth?! Because that's Mikka. Some dogs love people. Mikka *lives* for her people. If you're looking for a loyal companion who wants to be your shadow, your adventure buddy, and your biggest fan, you've found her. Mikka is a 3-year-old, 40-pound Border Collie mix with the perfect mix of brains, affection, and playfulness. Her favorite things in the world are surprisingly simple: 🎾 Playing fetch (she could do it all day!) 🚗 Going for car rides 🥾 Exploring on walks ❤️ Spending time with her favorite human She's incredibly smart and eager to learn. Mikka already knows: Sit, Down, Shake, Wait, and Crate Up, and she's always excited to show off how clever she is. Mikka's perfect home: Mikka is looking for a home where she can be your one and only. She prefers not to share her home with other dogs because she'd much rather spend all of her love and attention on you. While she has great manners on walks and can calmly pass other dogs, she's happiest when she doesn't have canine roommates. Because fast, unpredictable movements can make her a little nervous, she'd do best with older, dog-savvy children (or an adult-only home). Why we love Mikka? The best way to describe Mikka is this: She doesn't just love people—she chooses her person. Once you're her person, you have a best friend for life. She'll greet you with excitement every time you walk through the door, happily join you on every errand, and remind you every single day that you're the best part of her world. She's affectionate without being overwhelming, playful without being wild, and active enough to enjoy adventures while still loving to relax by your side afterward. Mikka is spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and ready to start her next chapter. If you've been waiting for that once-in-a-lifetime dog who will love you with her whole heart, Mikka has been waiting for you too. Could you be her person? Please apply at htxdogrescue.org

Story
Meet Bam Bam, a lively vibrant soul wishing for a home where he can really spread his wings. His days are filled with periods of rest and bursts of energy, showcasing his curiosity and confident spirit. He likes agility, fetch, running, tugging, toys, water, chase and long walks where he can joyfully lead the way. Bam Bam is smart and knows the sit, stay, come, and no commands but is still working on house training so please be patient with him. Always curious, Bam Bam loves exploring every nook of the house and yard. He`ll do well in a setting where he gets both physical exercise and mental enrichment. He`s not just about fun and games; his protective nature makes him a great watchdog. Despite his jumpy and noisy demeanor, he is a true cuddler at heart, always ready to snuggle into a lap - all 64 pounds of him! He likes chewing on hard rubber Kong toys and chew bones that keep him busy. He`ll do quick work of any stuffed toys. He also thinks anything left on the floor is fair game, so he needs some training there. He`s a social butterfly, thriving in lively environments and making friends fast. He loves playing with other dogs and adjusts very well to the other dog`s playstyle. He shows an easygoing curiosity towards cats and lived with two in the recent adopter`s home. With children, he`s always friendly but a bit jumpy so he`ll need to live with kids at least nine years old. Bam Bam is goofy, affectionate and loyal, and will make a wonderful companion for a patient and active family. He was given up twice because he needed more attention than his owners could give him to meet his needs. Adopt Bam Bam for a lifetime of adventure and affection. Please contact his foster, Ram at CAPdogfoster@gmail.com or 281-202-9076 for more details. Story
Introducing Tito!  Tito was known as Rocky at Harris County, but without the amazing support from Tito’s Vodka, we may not have been able to pull him. Tito’s played a huge part in helping us reach our goal for our shelter pull, and we felt it was only right to name one of these deserving dogs after them! Tito came into the shelter as an owner surrender, though the reason remains unknown. What we do know is that he is in great shape, absolutely adores people, and deserves a second chance at the life he’s always deserved. Now, he’s safe with us forever. This handsome boy is incredibly sweet, loving, and ready to find his place again. Tito gets along wonderfully with other dogs and loves to play, making him the perfect addition to just about any home! We are currently looking for a foster for this special guy. Scout’s Honor covers all medical care and provides supplies — you just provide the love.  If you’re interested in adopting Tito, please visit www.scoutshonor.org and fill out an application!August 7, 2026, 8:32 am

Story
This beautiful golden girl is calm, friendly, and confident, with the kind of easygoing personality that makes spending time with her a joy. She’s great on leash and already knows how to sit on command. She`s gentle when taking treats from your hand and is always happy to soak up some affection and pets. While toys don`t seem to be high on her priority list, Julie is perfectly content finding her own ways to stay entertained and doesn’t need constant attention. Julie has done well with other dogs in shelter playgroups, and would love to find a home with canine companions. She strikes a lovely balance between being social and independent – she’s happy to spend time with you but confident enough to make her own fun, too.If you`re looking for a sweet, steady friend who is past the puppy chaos and ready to settle into family life, Julie may be the perfect match.
