Hi, I’m Mikka. I’m 3 years old, about 40 pounds, and I have been described as a “little firecracker.” Personally, I prefer enthusiastic about life. I LOVE people. Seriously. If you’re my person, I am all in. I want your attention, your affection, your adventures, and probably whatever you’re doing right now. I’m also really smart! I know sit, down, shake, wait, and “crate up,” and I’ll even wait politely for my food until you release me. I’m completely house trained and housebroken too, so I don’t actually need to be crated when you leave me home. My hobbies include fetch, walks, car rides, playing, learning things, making people laugh, and doing pretty much everything with maximum enthusiasm. I am definitely not a low-energy decorative couch pillow. I have some pep in my step. But underneath all that firecracker energy, I am an incredibly sweet girl who absolutely adores my people. Now for my one big requirement: I need to be the ONLY dog in my home. No canine roommates for me, please. I have decided that sharing my house with another dog simply does not spark joy. Kids are a little more complicated because, funny enough, I absolutely adore the little humans I know even the really little ones! Like any dog, though, I need adults who will supervise and make sure both me and the kids are being respectful of each other. Basically, I’m smart, trained, housebroken, hilarious, affectionate, and just a tiny bit extra. Okay… maybe more than a tiny bit. Little Miss Daisy Mae is a happy-go-lucky sweetheart with a whole lot of love to give! This sweet, affectionate girl seems to think everyone she meets is a friend, whether they have two legs or four. She loves dogs, cats, and humans of all sizes, and if you happen to be sitting down, she may just decide your lap is the perfect place to be. She'll gently place her front paws on you, lean in for a hug, and wiggle her way closer for some extra affection. Personal space? No such thing!Daisy loves to run and play with her canine friends, but she's also wonderfully easygoing and happy to let the other dogs take the lead. She's gentle when taking treats and is already learning her manners, including sit and down. This smart girl is eager to learn and has made impressive progress in just a few short weeks.Rescued from a shelter on October 4, Daisy may not have had much experience living indoors before, but she's catching on beautifully! As of October 24, she's pretty well potty trained and crate trained, and she's discovering the fun of playing with toys. She's still learning her leash manners and will need a family willing to help her learn not to pull. Daisy also likes to stay close to her people, sometimes so close that she accidentally gets underfoot. Hopefully, as she grows, she'll learn to give her humans just a little more room to walk!We're not sure exactly what this adorable girl is mixed with. A cattle dog and smooth collie are possibilities, but Daisy Mae is keeping her family tree a mystery for now! We estimate she was born in early January 2026, which would make her just under 10 months old in late October. She's currently around 36 pounds and has gained 5 pounds since coming into our care on October 4. Introducing Tito! Tito was known as Rocky at Harris County, but without the amazing support from Tito’s Vodka, we may not have been able to pull him. Tito’s played a huge part in helping us reach our goal for our shelter pull, and we felt it was only right to name one of these deserving dogs after them! Tito came into the shelter as an owner surrender, though the reason remains unknown. What we do know is that he is in great shape, absolutely adores people, and deserves a second chance at the life he’s always deserved. Now, he’s safe with us forever. This handsome boy is incredibly sweet, loving, and ready to find his place again.
