❤️ Meet Mikka ❤️ Have you ever wanted a dog that thinks you're the greatest person on Earth?! Because that's Mikka. Some dogs love people. Mikka *lives* for her people. If you're looking for a loyal companion who wants to be your shadow, your adventure buddy, and your biggest fan, you've found her. Mikka is a 3-year-old, 40-pound Border Collie mix with the perfect mix of brains, affection, and playfulness. Her favorite things in the world are surprisingly simple: 🎾 Playing fetch (she could do it all day!) 🚗 Going for car rides 🥾 Exploring on walks ❤️ Spending time with her favorite human She's incredibly smart and eager to learn. Mikka already knows: Sit, Down, Shake, Wait, and Crate Up, and she's always excited to show off how clever she is. Mikka's perfect home: Mikka is looking for a home where she can be your one and only. She prefers not to share her home with other dogs because she'd much rather spend all of her love and attention on you. While she has great manners on walks and can calmly pass other dogs, she's happiest when she doesn't have canine roommates. Because fast, unpredictable movements can make her a little nervous, she'd do best with older, dog-savvy children (or an adult-only home). Why we love Mikka? The best way to describe Mikka is this: She doesn't just love people—she chooses her person. Once you're her person, you have a best friend for life. She'll greet you with excitement every time you walk through the door, happily join you on every errand, and remind you every single day that you're the best part of her world. She's affectionate without being overwhelming, playful without being wild, and active enough to enjoy adventures while still loving to relax by your side afterward. Mikka is spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and ready to start her next chapter. If you've been waiting for that once-in-a-lifetime dog who will love you with her whole heart, Mikka has been waiting for you too. Could you be her person? Please apply at htxdogrescue.org

Story
Meet Chica, a 35-pound bundle of joy wrapped in boundless energy and intelligence. She`s house trained and loves to stay active, always ready for a new challenge or game. Chica`s friendly and cuddly nature makes her a great companion for playful adventures or cozy cuddle sessions. She enjoys agility, chase, running, tugging, toys, walks and lots of mental stimulation. She knows the sit, stay, come, no, down, and off command. Her bravery and excitement for life are contagious, inspiring everyone around her. Despite her noisiness and intensity, she`s a sweetheart who just needs a job to keep her busy and engaged. She is a social butterfly who tolerates cats well and is a bit jumpy around children, so a home with older kids or adults might be best. Chica is rough and dominant with other dogs and does well with `visiting` canines but cannot live with one. In a previous home, she was too territorial and possessive of her stuff. She was given up because her family moved and couldn`t take her. Chica would thrive in a loving home that can match her vibrant spirit and zest for life. (tw 8/17/2026)

Story
Meet Bam Bam, a lively vibrant soul wishing for a home where he can really spread his wings. His days are filled with periods of rest and bursts of energy, showcasing his curiosity and confident spirit. He likes agility, fetch, running, tugging, toys, water, chase and long walks where he can joyfully lead the way. Bam Bam is smart and knows the sit, stay, come, and no commands but is still working on house training so please be patient with him. Always curious, Bam Bam loves exploring every nook of the house and yard. He`ll do well in a setting where he gets both physical exercise and mental enrichment. He`s not just about fun and games; his protective nature makes him a great watchdog. Despite his jumpy and noisy demeanor, he is a true cuddler at heart, always ready to snuggle into a lap - all 64 pounds of him! He likes chewing on hard rubber Kong toys and chew bones that keep him busy. He`ll do quick work of any stuffed toys. He also thinks anything left on the floor is fair game, so he needs some training there. He`s a social butterfly, thriving in lively environments and making friends fast. He loves playing with other dogs and adjusts very well to the other dog`s playstyle. He shows an easygoing curiosity towards cats and lived with two in the recent adopter`s home. With children, he`s always friendly but a bit jumpy so he`ll need to live with kids at least nine years old. Bam Bam is goofy, affectionate and loyal, and will make a wonderful companion for a patient and active family. He was given up twice because he needed more attention than his owners could give him to meet his needs. Adopt Bam Bam for a lifetime of adventure and affection. Please contact his foster, Ram at CAPdogfoster@gmail.com or 281-202-9076 for more details.
