Story
Meet Benji, an incredibly loving and quiet dog who loves to explore, go on walks, play, follow you around, and get as many pets from you as he can! Although not much of a barker or whiner, Benji is still very social. Every person and dog he meets is his friend. This makes him perfect walking buddy as he never makes a fuss when somebody walks by. He also enjoys lounging around and begging for pets and scratches. If he decides the amount of attention you gave him wasn’t enough, he’ll put his paw onto your hand to get you to continue! Benji is very well-behaved overall. Even when he’s hesitant to do something you want him to (like taking a bath), he never shows signs of aggression. He is crate-trained and sleeps through the night without any issues. He's also potty-trained! Benji would be a great fit in any type of household, especially one with kids and other dogs. If you’re looking for a loyal, sweet companion who will give you endless amounts of love, Benji is the match for you. Benji is a male Border Collie mix with an estimated date of birth of 3/1/19. He weighs 38 lbs.

Story
Meet Addy, a bright and playful 2-month-old Border Collie mix ready to learn and grow with her new family. Currently weighing 11 pounds and full of cheerful energy, she loves people and enjoys entertaining herself with all kinds of toys. Addy is working on mastering her basics like house and crate training and is being introduced to walking on a leash. She does well with other dogs and shows a curious interest in cats, though a proper introduction is still needed. An apartment would be suitable for her, provided she receives plenty of outdoor time for play and learning. A quick study, she is already responding to simple commands. True to her puppy spirit, Addy can be squirmy and isn’t quite a lap dog yet, but she calms when held close. She is making wonderful progress and seeks a patient, active home for her adventures.Addy is located in Houston, TX. Transport to most states is available for an additional fee of $300.

Story
Want a dog that will be absolutely obsessed with you? Adores humans? Will give you unconditional love and hugs? Meet Mikka! At 3 years old and 40 lbs she's a spunky Border Collie mix. This girl loves life with people! Here are her simple pleasures: - Being with people - Going on car rides - Going on walk - Her favorite ball and fetch Mikka is super smart and catches on to new things quickly, that's the collie in her! She knows: - Sit - Down - Shake - Wait (to eat and to get out of the crate) - Crate up Her flaws (only a few): - Would be best as an only dog - Is a bit on the active side - Gets nervous with kids under 10 Mikka is very dog selective. Her unknown past has taught her she needs to do the getting before they get her. Because she is so well mannered she's not reactive as long as the dogs don't come up to her. This means you can still enjoy calm walks without her barking or lunging. She'd thrive the most as an only child. As long as she gets regular walks she can thrive in any environment. Kids quick unexpected movements makes me nervous so I cling to the humans I know and try to get away from the tiny humans. Mikka is a very sweet girl that wouldn't hurt a human fly and would be a great companion, she will love you with all her heart. To adopt Mikka, please apply at www.htxdogrescue.org.

Story
Domino is a real sweetheart who loves dogs of all sizes. He was recently rescued from a shelter where he was a staff favorite. Domino is bouncy as is most every heeler . He knows how to correct the pups he plays with. He is confident and super loving pup. He has good dog manners in playground. Domino had an old injury at some point of time, but it does not bother him, other than occasional adjustment to his walks. He is as active as any non-injured pup. He is a sweet pup, 2 years old and weighs 60 lb. He needs to lose some weight. He was probably living on junk food as a stray but now that he is in a great foster home, we are hoping to see some waistline :) He is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on all vaccinations. He is heartworm-negative and kept on heartworm and flea prevention. To adopt this pup, please send an application via savesomesouls.com Yards, if any, must be fully and adequately fenced. He is currently in Texas but can travel to any state, including Canada to the right home. To meet this sweet baby in person or via facetime, please send an application via www.savesomesouls.com.

LOVES TO SNUGGLE AND GET OODLES OF ATTENTION  Estimated DOB 3/25/24, weight 40 lbs. This young girl Calliope is very sweet and playful, and has energy to spare!  Her foster home has several dogs and Calliope wants to play -- er -- wrestle with all of them.  She loves to go on walks, meet new people, play with her stuffed animal toys, and snuggle on the couch for movie time. Calliope was abandoned in the parking lot of a PetSmart but fortunately, her future foster mom worked at the store and scooped her right up! Calliope knows Sit and Wait, and likes to sleep in her crate at night.   Calliope would love a home where she can get lots of attention and exercise as well as have a canine brother or sister to play with.  Is that you? HOPE ID D24-1116-0045 Calliope's $200 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for heartworms, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment for heartworms and fleas. Story
Glow is a sweet and affectionate girl who’s ready to light up her forever home. She’s happiest when snuggled close for belly rubs or snoozing in the sun, but she also has a playful side—her goofy naps and love for peanut butter will keep you smiling every day. She’s house-trained / crate-trained / potty trained / good on leash and she gets along well with dogs. Glow would thrive in a home that has another pup to be her companion. Her perfect family will appreciate her gentle nature and give her the love and stability she deserves. In return, Glow will offer endless loyalty, comfort, and joy. 🐾❤️ She may take a few minutes to adapt to a new place but once she opens up, she shows her sweet and gentle personality. Glow is a regular at daycare and boarding where she is a staff favorite. Glow is being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, and even Canada for the right home. To meet our gorgeous pups via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Glow's adoption fee includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, and Harness. Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.
