Story
Meet Benji, an incredibly loving and quiet dog who loves to explore, go on walks, play, follow you around, and get as many pets from you as he can! Benji is not much of a barker or whiner and is a very social guy. Every person and dog he meets is his friend. This makes him the perfect walking buddy as he never makes a fuss when somebody walks by. He also enjoys lounging around and begging for pets and scratches. If he decides the amount of attention you gave him wasn’t enough, he’ll put his paw onto your hand to get you to continue! Benji is very well-behaved overall. Even when he’s hesitant to do something you want him to (like taking a bath), he never shows signs of aggression. He is crate-trained and sleeps through the night without any issues. He is working on his tendency to mark inside, but for the most part he’s good with letting you know that he wants to go outside to potty. Benji would be a great fit in any type of household, especially one with kids and other dogs. If you’re looking for a loyal, sweet companion who will give you endless amounts of love, Benji is the match for you. Benji is a male Border Collie mix with an estimated date of birth of 3/1/19. He weighs 38 lbs.

Story
Hello, future family! I'm Daisy Mae, a large and lovable black dog with a heart as vast as my midnight-hued coat. I've been patiently waiting for 507 days to find my forever home, and I believe this Christmas could be the one where I finally get to spend my days surrounded by love and warmth. About Me:I'm a gentle giant, known for my soulful eyes and an unwavering spirit. Typical to my shepherd lineage I can be wary of strangers, but, once I know, you are my person I love with my whole being. Despite my 507 days spent at the shelter, I've never lost hope that the right family will come along and see the joy I can bring to their lives. I'm well-behaved, house-trained, and ready to share my love with someone special. My Christmas Wish List:To make my time at the shelter brighter, I've curated an Amazon wish list filled with items that would add a touch of festive cheer to my days. If you're feeling extra generous this holiday season, consider checking out my list and making my Christmas dreams come true. It's not just about the gifts; it's about the love and thoughtfulness behind them. https://a.co/fH47PqL How You Can Help:If you're not in a position to adopt right now, you can still be a part of my journey by contributing to my Amazon wish list or sharing my story. Your kindness could make this Christmas one to remember.  Adoption Details:Ready to make my dreams come true? Just fill out the no obligation, application to schedule a meet-and-greet.  ##1560455##

Story
TOP OF HIS OBEDIENCE CLASS  Appr. DOB 8/28/23, weight 41 lbs Hey Hooman, they call me Willie! If you do choose to adopt me - just know that wherever you are, I'll be napping nearby to wait for the next moment that I can climb in your lap for some snuggles or just some well-placed pats. Although I adore being loved by my people, I don't pester them for affection. I'm playful when it's playtime, but I settle down and happily chill out at my hooman's feet while they read. I'm very intelligent (hello, Cattle Dog!) and catch on quickly to training. (I was top of my obedience class!) I also LOVE treats - so training me is not only a fun experience for us both but also a challenge for me to learn more tricks to show off to your friends. I already know how to automatically sit to say "please!" and have great eye contact. I'm curious when I meet other dogs on my walks (and tug on my leash when I see a cat that I want to chase). With some structure and delicious chicken, I’ve started making better choices in no time, and now I get along with all but alpha dogs. Even though I look like a basic-black Cattle Dog - don't judge me by my looks! Because if you ask the humans who helped rescue me, they'll say that it's my "if-you're-down-I'm-down!" attitude that makes me so lovable. So much so that a group of people have rallied behind me to find me my forever home. My rescue story is one that really shows how "it takes a village" to make rescue happen! A Good Samaritan found me as a stray who was probably dumped on the side of the busy Grand Parkway in front of the PetSmart in Richmond. He posted on Facebook and knocked on doors to find my owner or a foster home since he couldn't keep me. After bouncing around to several homes for my first few days post-rescue, I was ecstatic when my rescuer connected with HOPE, who networked to find a foster mom to love and care for me. At first being left alone in an apartment was something I struggled with, and believe me, my barking was frowned upon by the management. However, since my foster mom started leaving me with a delicious foraging item in my crate, I'm much more amenable to waiting for my partner in crime to get back home. Eventually my time ran out with my temporary foster mom - so I now live in a boarding facility until someone falls in love with me. Now the only eyes I'm trying to catch are those of my forever pawrent! I’m ready to bring my affectionate loyalty, boundless energy, and wicked intelligence to my new family. Could that be you? My perfect home would be out in the country where I could explore my territory without the constraints of a leash. I promise that I don’t wander far and always come back because my favorite part of the day is chilling out at my hooman’s feet (or snuggled next to their leg on the sofa!). Arrange to meet me today! My heart has so much love to give - all I need is YOU! LOVES TO SNUGGLE AND GET OODLES OF ATTENTION  Estimated DOB 3/25/24, weight 40 lbs. This young girl Calliope is very sweet and playful, and has energy to spare!  Her foster home has several dogs and Calliope wants to play -- er -- wrestle with all of them.  She loves to go on walks, meet new people, play with her stuffed animal toys, and snuggle on the couch for movie time. Calliope was abandoned in the parking lot of a PetSmart but fortunately, her future foster mom worked at the store and scooped her right up! Calliope knows Sit and Wait, and likes to sleep in her crate at night.   Calliope would love a home where she can get lots of attention and exercise as well as have a canine brother or sister to play with.  Is that you? Story
Echo is a sweet approximately 15 months old pup, who was rescued from a high kill Animal Shelter of Texas, where she spent a long time cooped up. She got lucky due to her sweet disposition. She was a shelter favorite. Echo is a very sweet and calm girl who loves her humans. She lives with both dogs and cats, and usually does not bother them as she is velcro and finds her humans to follow. She would do good as an only pet, getting all the attention and affection. She is laidback and obedient. She is also highly trainable as she is a quick learner. A home with a fully fenced yard would be mandatory for her, as well as a family who can dedicate time, patience and love. Echo is currently about 50 pounds. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. She is heartworm negative and kept on heartworm and flea preventative. Her adoption fee includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, Harness, leash, and Interstate Health Certificate for our out of state adopters. Sweet Echo is being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, and even Canada for the right home. To meet this gorgeous girl via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, and the ones who are taken to our shelters, where they are euthanized if they are not rescued or adopted. By adopting one of our pups, you are actually saving two lives - the one they adopt, the one who takes their space in the foster home.
